Unban every account since prelude (Except Chinese IP) and give everyone a new chance. a new page to be exact.
imho most people who got banned deserved that ban (for hacking, exploiting, botting or for whatever broken rule it was). I believe there were only a few really innocent people who got banned.
Its hard to play for normal players right now ..yes ..bring back more rules breakers and most honest players will run away ..and then you can start complaining bots bots bots everywhere.

Unbanning people who have hacked accounts or had their ips linked to a scam account wont be considered.
As for exploiting i agree with that too.
Botters on the others hand, main chars atleast which NC can look into should get a second chance.
Actually not should but honestly the servers are dead, the game itself has no glow anymore and new games are coming up including Aion..
Whats wrong in an event where NC would give a second chance and a new page.
there will be people who will not bot anymore and off course some will and NC will deal with them accordingly..
Again you need to realize some people were banned because they were leeching and according to NC leeching is not against the rules.
What i also want people to consider is that many people who were banned had thier friends leave the game with them.
So yea when you do an event or just give another chance then not only will accounts be activate which = to revenue but also friends will come back since they can now play together. which also = to more revenue and more attendance to game events such as siege and raids etc.

There are some on this forum who simply rage with out thinking.
some people on this forum dont realize that if a hunting ground is used by a train or botter then they should change to another spot. if they still want that spot then they need to pk or get thier friends to help pk.
But crying about botters is imo just plain ******ed. pvp game not pve game.
This is a game. People who botted their way to 7x and were banned have probably already opened a new account and done exactly the same thing.
Not unbanning Chinese IPs would be seen as a stereotype racism act. I know the reasons behind your idea, but NC would be slated if they did that.
My question to you is, which of your friends wants to come back but can't because they're banned?
alot of people who were banned have never returned to this game.
You would be seriously delusional if you thought NC would take into consideration an idea like this. regardless if i wanted someone back i would just help him out.

Yea i care about this game. the game is nearly dead and NC wont do any ads like wow or other games so whats left is try to bring back the old people.

My main objection is that these accounts were banned for a reason, certainly from what we have seen its a very high bar to get over to actually get the ban hammer.
So, given that, why would we want to get the types of people like this back into the game?
I think the "Jackhole to Human ratio" is a little to high right now, we don't need more jackholes.

Simply look at the accounts that were active and have become dormant. Only accounts that aren't flagged in anyway and appear to be genuine players that have moved on.
That's the list of accounts to target.

I'd rather log in alone and have no gear and no options to progress then play with most of the folks who's accounts were banned.
Releasing the cheaters and hackers, ebayers and botters could well be a sort of 'final nail in the coffin lid'.

I don't have an answer as to what they would need to do to bring us back. For myself, it would have to be pretty spectacular and, frankly, I don't think they have it in them.
That said, I am not nor have I ever been a typical player so I'm probably a lost cause.
I think the main problem with the idea is that the re-activated accounts/characters would still have all the benefits (levels) that were gained from...well in most cases the reason they were banned in the first place.
So I dont think anything like this would really work and is partly why people think its ******ed. At best, perhaps the idea could be more along the lines of temporary unbanning (7 days or such) to allow retrieval of gear / transfer of clan leadership and such, to new characters created and leveled legitimately. But I doubt that would happen nor go down very well either.
Btw I dont actually have a problem with server population and such, there are still alot of people around for me - could start be an issue when aion comes out but I bet that'll turn out to be a so-so mmo anyways. Maybe its more of a thing when friends get banned and they are missed.
Dont see that many new players though and would definately like to see the advertising kick in that was mentioned with the whole NC West thing. Not holding my breath on this one they never have seemed to want to budget for it or understand how advertising cost = greater income ;)

First of all, not liking the idea is one thing, but some posters are going overboard with all the personal insults, IMO.
My feelings on the matter are this: Doing this would undo what little work the L2 GMs have done the past few years. I mean, they really haven't done as much about the bots as they should have. Unbanning all the accounts they actually did ban would make all their work for for nothing.
I haven't had that many friends banned. Three, actually. One was banned unfairly (so he says, and I actually do believe him) and never came back. One was banned fairly and botted another account up to hero. One was a legit Chinese player who was thrown in with all the Chinese IP bans.
On the other hand, I've had a ton of friends quit because they were bored with the game/grind or because the opposite side botted to the extent that it wasn't a skill competition anymore but a botting competition (like botting the festivals.) Then the other side quit cuz there were no people to 'compete' against. The majority of my friends just quit out of boredom though.
In other words, out of the 50+ friends that I could name off the top of my head who have quit, only 2 quit when banned.

theres a difference, armie, between calling someone a botter/ebayer and insulting someone based on their level.
i believe it was Tabbiemae who said it best when they said how someone who is legitimately trying to earn something (hero, noble etc) but is UNABLE to earn it (for whatever reason) is labelled as a failure, meanwhile those making the labels are knowingly breaking rules.

whether you or amazingbot realizes it or not, there are a bunch of people that really dont ever want to get to 8x. they know as soon as they get even CLOSE, it will become impossible to get anywhere. between clans such as nova who dont care to go around willy nilly causing drama, picking fights for no other reason than boredom. sorry, but that may not be fun for everyone. and for that, we've stayed relatively low level, under the radar of you pvper types. hunting in many places until the mobs turn blue, and even then take 2 or 3 more levels in that zone.
to be insulted based on level is a harder insult to retort than someone labelled bot/ebay. for my level my voice means less? no, i cast a vote the same as you do in an election despite my higher tax bracket and higher social status.

i can take being insulted due to my level, but ignored because of it... no.
nobody ignored the lvl 82 elephant in the room, but everyone ignores the 9300+ post count troll.
i dont care if you ignore me in game. but here on the forums is a place where level doesnt enter into any equation. you dont ignore what one doctor says because he's a younger person than you are and go to a much OLDER doctor to get the same diagnosis.

This is a pve/pvp game, you pve to get levels you pvp to get territory. All other PVP aspects were additions (like olympiad). again where do you bot? you are under the impression that since this game only appeals to your PVP interest that it is ok to skip the PVE.
