Hey I just started a dwarf to help me make some money. I am read for my first class change but I can't decide which to take. My primary reason for making this character is to make a little money so that I can upgrade my main's equipment. For levels 20-40 what is going to be the most profitable? Do I sell lots of rec to make money as scavenger?
Thanks
go as scavenger to spoil materials for your crafts or sell. the rcp's you get lvl 20-40 are only good to be sold to the NPC unless it's soul/spirit-shots rcp's
artisan not realy worth it. you can craft what you need cheap in Giran at the craft shops there and sell the items afterwards for a nice profit.
Not true, if you level him it could be very useful. You can't find anything you want in the craft shops. At high level you can craft S weapons which bring a god profit.
I personally like my artisan as a good, safe, source of profit. It's more of a support character for me. With my bounty hunter I spoil recipes and mats and with the warsmith I craft all that I need for me or for my friends (external buyers included).
It was hard leveling my "ToolBraker" but it was worth it.:)

Take care!
my main is a WS and having a WS as main gives alot less income than a WS alt...not to mention that my WS will lvl alot slower than your main since you have vit2 for few hours per day while I have vit1 for just few minutes because I have to be online 24/7 to make adena (100-300k per night so far)
oh and one more thing...both me and Nanashi have high lvl WS as main and have few years of experience playing as WS.
+1 on artisan being useless
Don't agree with that too much...
I agree on the point that using craftshops from others is a good way to make profit. But from A-grade and up (and shots too), having a WS comes in handy...
When you're in a clan that does castle sieges, then a WS comes in handy because of the siege equipment...
For normal gameplay, the WS has a golum over the BH. But when you get a wolf at 55 (like I have), you won't use that golum that much anymore since the wolf is way better (except for p.def, it's even better then you are :D)
you forget that a small party of nukers of archers can bring down the gates long before you have summoned the golem (takes 5min)
True... But 2 big holes (or even one) in the wall makes the defence a bit harder...
From 20-63 your warsmith is gonna be pretty much supplying you with your own shots. After that it will start making you some money from private manufacture shops. I have 2 and I like them. NC Soft kinda killed us by putting all armor and weps up to top C in the NPC shops. Brig and FP stuff used to be a Warsmith's bread and butter for money through c grade.
Bounty Hunter - Once you get into mid A and start getting some of the A recipes and mats you can start making really good money.
It really just depends on what you want to play....do you want to get frustrated trying to spoil something that you have a 1 in 3000 chance of getting. or cry when a craft that cost you 40 mil to do fails and you get jack....>Gotta Love Dwarfs
I have both, and while I do like having my artisan for shot-making and mat producing, I really don't have the resources to make many of the big ticket items -- an artisan needs to be connected to a clan to get sufficient materials to make the best weapons and armor. I also don't have the patience or 2-box setup to do much selling. The advantage of the artisan is being able to go beyond level one recipes; the bounty hunter only does level one and low level crystallization. But the artisan loses his capacity to spoil after lvl 40 (slows down anyway).
On the other hand, I have all my alts send their mat drops to my bounty hunter, most of which she stores for manufacturing, but I take some off the top and just run around Giran's buy shops selling to the highest bidders. I don't have to sit, Giran always has someone paying outrageous prices for basic mats, and I can make oodles of buckos easy. Or if I see something in particular in demand, I can send her out for a particular item (using drop databases available on the web). After spoiling with my bounty hunter, regular hunting seems really dismal in terms of the drops received. I also dress her in robes or armor top and robe bottom to maximize her mp for spoiling.
I have a dwarf artisan at 36, its an alt, dont have two accounts, and i just set her up to craft simple mats at night, make about 700k- 1 mill at most each week doing this (well its only been a couple weeks since ive been doing this but im assuming thatll be pretty consistant at this level.)
Anyway Im thinking about making a scavenger too. Should I just neglect the artisan for awhile if im really trying to make adena? Sadly I wish I had my artisan on a 2nd account but she isnt.
Vitality gets regenerated while in town/peace zone too not only when logged off.
So what gives about not regenerating vitality if you're in town afk selling shots?
I thought vitality increases just as fast as when offline only that offline it doesn't matter where you were in game before delogging... I must've been misinformed.

You do regen vitality while in shop mode, craft mode or what ever, but only at half the rate as being offline
