I usually run +hp on my duels, so what kind of tats should I use on my glad? I am currently C grade (about to be B) and I have BW heavy for B grade... I want to be decently set up for pvp and pve
As most people use Tallum PA and kesh*kesh or dama*tal at A Grade some may suggest applying +4DEX -4CON to help maximize DPS (some also couple this with +4STR -4CON).
Me personally... i just run a +4STR -4CON tat, as i would rather maximize damage, and i don't believe in cutting my CON even more for the risk of being stunned continuously.
That plus the fact at S Grade, it would be wise to upgrade to Tal*DLE, not only for the stat bonuses but also the damage increase, in which case the +8% attack speed boost (off A Duals) is lost, making +DEX less effective.
Static skill re-use times will be implemented in Gracia Final, so amplifying attack speed will no longer have any effect on the frequency at which you can spam skills... making DEX even less of a factor.
In short:
+STR - to Maximize P.Atk (best option in my personal opinion but others may disagree)
+DEX - to Maximize DPS / Atk. Spd. (common and useful increase but not necessary)
+STR +DEX - to Maximize both but with noticeable loss to HP, CP, Carry Weight, and Stun Resistance (also Bleed Resistance).
It would be wise to stick to one stat and increase that stat alone as much as possible, as opposed to spreading the increase at a greater loss.
Also as far as i'm aware Gladi's can +WIT -INT, if this is indeed the case you can increase your WIT for added resistance against Root and Curse Spells.
This is only my personal opinion, but as i said... the tats you pick depend upon what you want out of the class, i hope this helps ^_^

again... could someone throw me the link with this info? from what i heard its only some skills and not all that will be affected by this and as a gladdie i'm quite interested myself :)
As for the tattoo... in lower lvls stun isn't that bad and you could run both +4 str +4 dex -8 con especially if you go with HP duals. But as you get closer to mid a grade ist not to be recommended. From being a glasscannon you'll simply turn into glass. When you hit 72 and duelist spirit lvl 2 you wont need dex anymore at all. So yeah as far as gladdies goes that +dex isn't really needed.. and the money you spend to get minimal critrate, minimal accuracy, minimal atkspeed isn't really worth it. (When i was 72 and finally removed my dex tat i lost like 20 atk.speed fully buffed, lol, and 20 atk.speed is nothing.. like 5 critrate or something and i didn't even notice the accuracy change).
You're in C grade still? and B grade? My personal advice would be get yourself a set of focus duals spirit*raid for c grade or tsu*sls for B grade, save you a lot of cash spent on shots and it ups your DPS a great deal.
HP wont be a problem if you only pick 1 type of tattoo either.
For pvp you'll only want a +str tat for increased critrate on skills (focus doesn't work for this) and bigger p.atk and using haste duals (until S grade then you'll use +HP +CP +MP as SA) this also works perfectly fine for PvE. Depending on the turnout on skillchanges in gracia final... if its all static timers you wont need tallum, Maj would be a better choice until you can get IC

Eggy ^_^
Where have you been that got change a long time ago. Root and Curse defense is base on MEN (M defense) like it should.

IMO -8 CON at higher levels is a silly idea... it's far too much, especially in the 70's.

Yes they are serious, fighters can't do one of the magey tats, i dont keep track of which one it is as mage tatoos for a gladdie is completely worthless in the first place, lol, so i never bothered with it.
You being a DA a tatoo to enhance your magey stats could be ok for your drain skills i suppose but other than that, unless a melee toon has magey skills they should never even consider wasting the money on magetype tatoo's

It would be the opposite of worthless... Would make too much sense for a Glad or any human Warrior/rouge to do.
I see where you're going with it but its not quite right, the only one that would actually be good for us would be + Men for m.def (which human warriors need most of >.<) and bigger mp pool.. which we can *not* do as human warriors.
The other changes resist changes that are listed at + WIT are extremely slim at best because of 1 thing, the stat being too low to start with to make a difference.
As fighters our mageystats are very very low.
11 Wit (second best to modify), 21 INT(just lol, dont even touch thisone) and 25 MEN (which is the best stat for us to alter we can not change) that leaves us to alter wit and int for higher stats but max adding is +5 to each stat. The second best one for us to do is wit. Going from 11 to 16 wit alters alot less than say a nuker going from 20 (human nuker in this case, keeping it within the same race) to 25 wit. For the nuker the change is noticable. For the fighter the base stats are too low for the %'s that +5 tatoo adds to make any real difference.
So here's my point, the stats wit (the only good one we can do as human figthers) affects in are good, but we have too low base for the tattoo to really actually alter them in any really noticable way, thus rendering the tattoo near uselessness.
**edit** after doing +4 +4 -8 str dex -con or the +5 str 5-con we do have one spot left so if you have the space and you have the money by all means go right ahead, its a very very slim touchup but still better than none. Personally i'm not keen on wasting the money and i wouldn't recommend it but the choice is ultimately on your end :) these are just my 2 cents
Lol, yeah... some of the stuff on their website havent been updated since c3 >.< basically they only do the most critical stuff like skills and inserts the new items and thats *only* after too much complaining on the forums, lol
Just going to do a quick rundown of what my tats are right now (they will change at lvl 76 though) and I do not like doing any PvP since my HP is so low.
+5 Str -5 Con (+4-4 & +1-1 tats = 2 tat slots) & +4 Dex -4 Con. Now, I know my HP going to be very low at -9 Con and stuns will land on me alot more than usual. But, I have a Tallum Heavy +6 Set & lvl 73 Fenrir with top gear. My attack speed unbuffed is 574 buffed and with duelists spirit reaches 620, but with a BD it has gone over 800 attack speed.
Usually I just with my Fenrir and a SE for VR buffs and occasional healing. I rarely die from a mob due to the fact I down things that a regular group twice my size would go after. This is in no small part thanks to my +10 Dama*Tallum with a stun augment on them and other mods that increase its effectiveness.
So, basically I like my setup and constantly hear the arguements of what a gladiator should use and such. I am here to state if you hit hard, hit fast, and have at least a great wolf with you, then you are doing good. If you solo alot with maybe the occasional buffs from passerbys, then you wont want this setup simply because your too weak HP wise. But, if you are like me, then you will be good to go. Just remember not to volunteer to be the main tank.
HP = 3389
MP = 1408
Having the DPS of a nuker = My priceless dream :D
try +4str -4con and +4 dex -4con ,its good for exp as well as for pvp, and belive me those few little stats really matters, skill reuse time still depends from your atack speed with means that all your skill can be used faster , in pvp for glad 1 sec can do everything , after u reach 76 i recon put +1 str extra , its because of skill mastery with depends on your str.Dont worry about your HP , you dont go on pvp unbuffed( if u go u are crazy one dude ;]). Below u have little screen shot from glad on 79(atk. speed ext cause of pof and warrior ability haste-sub skill). For exp: s -duals +4 + tallum set does the job;]
pre (before) 78 i have to say i disagree with a +4 dex -4 con tattoo. You'll be a cannon but that is the work of the +5 str tats not the dex. Going for dex there will just make you into glass, not even a cannon. Any semi decent archer with element bows will kill you in 2-3 shots with their insane critrate+damage and a nuker will do 1-2 shots if they get m.crits 4-5ish without m.crit. Thats simply too quick for me as a duelist to get in close and actually do any damage, especially in open fields. On siege fields its just to forget about it, thats all about not being targeted, those archerbubbles and stacked parties are just devastating, lol.
At 78 and higher you get ++cp passive and that might be enough to make up for the difference. So at 78 and higher i guess it could work with a + dex tattoo, but i dont know cause i'm not there yet. Just sharing my own opinions and conclusions based on my own experiences ^^
I like the +str+con-dex, the +con being optional as that makes u slow as ****. It is nice for oly tho especcially considering next chron w/ the skill reuse set on static timers.
okay so i dont post on forums much but i do play gladi.. uhm tats its simple for pve and leveling +str +dex - con ALL THE WAY im 77 and use +5 str +4 dex - 9 con and wear Tal*DLE and full IC of course i l evel fully buffed but the increase in damage for me is immense but i do not use skills outside of over hits either as for pvp +5 str +4 con - dex and my answer to this is simple hard hitting and high hp. yes it slows you down a lot but thats what sonic dash or whatever is called is for. and once your s grade i would alsoput water damage on your duals for pve because that covers a lot of the high level areas but thats just my 2 cents and zuo those tats are great for leveling but fully buffed at 77 my str con set up would kill you hands down, and ihave tested this but this issue is now whether or not the other person sucked at duelist but yuo really do want the extra cp and hp especially with the static skill reuse time coupled with the temp speed buff makes - dex totally worth it
My setup is for a good pvp/pve gladi is: +4 STR - 4CON & 1+STR -1CON & +4DEX - 4 CON
I use it like that and its great. Works well for xp fast also. Well and later you always can get sub skills for your main for get more p.atk and atk.speed. So its just perfect for a good gladi ^^,
Please, dont take DEX out of a gladi >.<'
