why dosent nc-soft get off there buts and get the bots out there gms not doing anything same guy in the catcambs witch and apo still there all week.you bot butten broken cus dose nothing.are you getting a cut from the bots cus the farm for money for there websiter to sell to guys? i pay for game to play but cant hunt with dam bots. you report the gm say take names down. why should have take names down when your gm should be doing his job i not getting paid to take names down get off there buts and do some and go to the places guy tell there bots. the witch and the apo has lots of bots in it and there not just taking 1 room the runing and taking all rooms so you cant hunt. you answe some say is kill them you do you red for about 3 to 5 hours. and if the come back you get jump buy a program cus your red with 5 to 9 guy in there party. to live that you have be like s grade it time to take our sever back from dam money farmmers that steal the hunt spots to sell money to guys that all the doing just go the website that keep getting spam to do some info and look the game listed for this guy getting game money. it not a small thing they big in size and the do alot games we dont want this here. and the bots making dsrop rate way to long
Try to get red character in your account for catacombs lvling :) When I need room for my WS to pull mobs, I simply PK one and others usually logs out :d After some time they log in, I'm still red, they log out. Ofc this works not with everyone :(
Yes, there are bot problems, but this is post #1 of probably a thousand, for 2009 and it's getting old reading them. Bots are here to stay... I thought that was made clear since they've been around for over 4 years.

Last time I PK'd a bot in a catacomb, the owner logged in a 77+ Ghost Hunter right outside the room and PK'd all my toons.
So I just gave up on catacombs, and am leveling in other dungeons that are extremely hard or not botted in.

Bots are only here to stay if they're allowed to be. Very few games allow bots and this one is the only one that makes it more possible than others for the players to help police the issue the most. So it's up to the players to help deter the problem if the dev's wont do it. It's one of the reasons I chose to come back to L2 due to it being possible to Pk the bots if they get in the way, unlike other games.
Apparently this is not the only game with an epic bot problem. From what I read on an Aion forum they have rampant bot problems as well as hacks. Must be an NC game :P. Right now having to deal with lag and disconnect problems which have been growing worse as the week goes by. Did they even do a maintenace this week?
NC-NA hasn't, and won't proactively do anything about the botting problem in the Lineage2 world. They've been the example of how NOT to run a community department in the industry for years.
All I can say is every long time player feels your frustration. It's like arthritis... or herpes? LOL You just need to learn to live with it.

Have fun with it. Botting may be "illegal", but we have to deal with it, so... deal with it.

Making youself a bot hunter means u have to waste a lot of time leveling up toons to 40-7x levels, depending on where the bots are. I mean, by being a bot hunter, you are doing what GMs should be doing themselves.
People play for entertainment, not to do community service.
That is why most of the legit players quit instead.
Hunting bots doesn't have to be boring... and who says its a waste of time... some people play for the pvp, some for the graphics, some for the different available classes, and yes, some even for the level grind, why not for the ability to sell their services as a bot hunter?
Sure the GMs should be taking care of the problem, but that doesn't mean someone wouldn't enjoy hunting bots. Not everyone likes being involved in clan wars and sieges and drama all the time. Besides, my point was that there are ways to enjoy the game that also include getting rid of the bots... How about a solution that's positive, rather than QQing about everything...
again this subject comes to light and the OP shows another player about ready to bash someone with his keyboard. however no one is bashing him just adding somehumor that he might laugh at.
i remember my first bot post i was livid and while some troll the boards just flaming. the humor i got kinda helped take the edge off cause i realized i wasnt the only one who felt this way. And just reading "bots" in a thread kinda sets off this wierd morbid sense of not wanting to read but having a shared hatred of the buggers emotion. this is just my opinion from about 3 years of playing. Which i think is what i feel when i read humor from other fellow l2 players. So lets not point fingers after all none of us are playing char w names like "2wsoindse234238" (its a name i randomly typed) but one that is common to bots i see at varka's all the time. it just ruins things and then kinslon gets involved and everyone is pissy.
I've been fustrated with bots for since forever in this game especially when i have one that wouldnt go away or even logged in a much higher char that me and pk'd me. only to shout in ally and get responses like "no one pks u for doing nothing" or "ummmm sorry find a diffrent place to lvl" so very fustrating even while killing bots the karma adds up and takes more time away from me than i would like. but does it stop me? heck no i enjoy killing those buggers. in Wow (hangs head in shame... yes i tried it) had bots running around stealing my kills and i couldnt even pk them... so be happy u have l2 and a grand world where u can kill the lil buggers!!!! keep on tapping that report bot button and not have to figgure out the ins and outs to properly reporting using the petition.
keep up the good fight man and should u be on phoenix know WE ALL HATE BOTS and there is no short supply to people that will help u deal with them... just give a shout eh even if they are tagged im sure they have a war going on and you can whisper someone to come kill them steal a clan point and not even go red and probably end up with a few more friends on your friendlist. gl mate

Well give me your in game name and we can hook up to kill Bots. i don't mind wasting a Character. I have toons on Devianne, Aria and Phoenix. Currently i play on Phoenix but can switch for some bot killing.

This game is built from the ground up to be a bot friendly platform. The only way you advance is by constant grinding, perfect for a bot. You can delevel yourself if you want, perfect for a bot. Countless amounts of mats are needed to make anything and it can fail, perfect for bots. Quests are useless in general, bots don't do quests. Too many servers, not enough GM's, perfect for bots. Drop rates are horrid for the amount of mats needed to make things, again, perfect for bots.
We can all spot a bot and in less than 30 seconds know if it is a bot or not. The GM's can do the same thing. So they go and do a week or two of bot banning all over the place, big fat hairy deal. It's meaningless. So, if they can spot them as easily as we can, and they really do nothing about it, what do you think that means?
It means botting fine by them.

So just go out, do yer grinding and don't feel bad when you take their mobs. I don't anymore. As far as I am concerned everyone I see is a bot and I grind where I want.

Btw i did my thing today. I kept PKing a bot that was programed to come back. In less than a newbie buff round i had 6 Pks. So i went to do a SinEater....then decided to scrap the toon instead. Was just a low level anyways. Guess thats the way to do it. Maybe i will start to clean NoS as a hobby like Aeowen said we should :/ Its mostly taken by Bots now anyways.
Ya, they get more juice out of banning real players that bot to xp :D Not the bot groups that crawl through all the normal xp spots 24/7. I remember my first post too, wondering why, when they are so easy to spot, nothing was ever done about them. Then I kinda got used to them, even appreciated them because they took care of the mobs in the rooms I was running through to another spot, like in catas and toi and such.

There're bot problem in every single mmo, but in other MMO like WoW it's not so obivous. In l2 we have five 9 man trains standing in same spot, whole parties running in varka/ketra/iop/woa. And no1 if afraid to bot, because it's almost legal thing. And bot train owners even makes fun of ppl that needs quest(varka)...
Just forget about the bans.
There is a massban like 2 times a year. Other than that nothing.
They totally allow bots, just dont want to admit it.
Taking a look in * catacomb or necro would result in finding ban material without hesitating.
But as long as they don't, just stop the fighting. Either you play on their terms or you go :E
my bad on the tulip thing was typo i type fast n make many typos forgive me that. and no not a chick mate and im on phoenix catch me on Aeowen or JayneCobb i play them the most though still working on my sin eater on aeowen i just got down from 28 pks down to 18... though i miss killing the bot trains back in c3/c4 erra when the bot runner would decide to take u on.

There will always be bot threads, nothing can be done. In fact NCsoft earns too much money from bot threads to ever do anything. They are here to stay, deal with it. Without bot thread, the forum economy would be ruined anyway. And no, I don't say that because I start bot threads!

These discussions tend to be circular and more often than not result in accusations and arguments, so the policy was put in place to prevent that from happening.

No. Any accusation that NCsoft supports or endorses violations of the User Agreement is false and inappropriate for the official message board.
