hey i just started playing L2 today
so i have sum questions
1.when i begin there is a beginning city, do i need to do the quests there or just grinding
2.when i klick with my mouse my charracter begins to walk 3 second later
is this normal??
3.when sumone pk´s me i have a dead penalty or sumthing???
4.is a :human dualist good at pvp???
this are my questions right now if sumbody have tips/tricks plz tell me:D

2: pick a new server with a lower ping
3: you should not get a death penalty from getting pked, only from dying from mobs.

much people say its good....then what class is good at pvp>???(melee class/archer class)
Any class can be good at PvP, if you love to play it and you love to PvP. Over the years, every type of class has had their heyday. Right now, small pvp skirmishes, it's daggers (Treasure Hunter, Abyss Walker, Plains Walker). But archers (Hawkeye, Phantom Ranger, Silver Ranger) will tell you there is nothing more fun than an archer in mass pvp. So try out the classes and see what you like, and make your decisions from that.
But in any case, it will take a little while for you to get 3rd class. Or at least it should :D
If you lag too much then click on:
System Menu
Click Options
Video tab
click off shadows, off ground details, set texture to low, modeling detail low, motion detail low.
See how it goes. Then add other things later as you see fit.
Also hit alt-enter to go into windowed mode and adjust resolution. Works for me.

This happens to me often when I'm on Bartz. If the server load was showing as "light" then, as has been said, it might be an idea to select a server with a lower ping rate.
Other signs are soulshots failing to fire and the inventory taking a while to open.
I recommend you hold on to all mat (meterial) drops such as stem, coal, varnish, charcoal, iron ore etc. Don't sell these to NPC shops. Now we have free teleports for < lvl 40, you can get to Giran, look around, and sell them for some serious money.
Also recipes such as Varnish of Purity, Steel, silver mold, compound braid etc. sell for useful money in main towns or you can use them on your Arti.
Don't sell them to the NPC shops.
Go to the Newbie guide and click on him until he gives you a quest.
Do the quest and then go back and keep doing the quests he gives you.
You will be 20 in no time.
Also he will offer you shadow weapon certificates...make sure you get them and get your shadow weapons.
Grinding really comes around level 62. Unless you are in a really good clan you will be killing mobs coming out the Wahooand gainiong little exp
Before that level you get newbie buffs from the Guide and levelling is fast and quick.
3. As far as I remember, there is always a chance for a death penalty after a certain level, just the same as when exp loss appears. The chance of it is different depending on what killed you, clan luck, war status, etc...
You can remove it by getting a recovery scroll of an appropriate grade. You can find it at a consumable shop. Note that they sell s-grade ones in Aden, but you won't need those yet.
4. Duelist is a fun class, although weak lately, compared to some other phys dd's. But fear not, in CT2.3 it will shine again. Besides, you are still able to kill things (players) quite fast, as long as you get to them.
Their main weakness is that they can't oe their skills with elements. Means tss w/o attribute. That might change, but I don't remember precisely, though.

changes next chron and it'll make glads scary as hell.... of course that means mages, daggers,tyrants and destro are even scarier than hell

Possibly soul breakers will get the LOL from Orc mages since they are a combination of melee and mage but i said possibly turkeys :) so lets wait and see and why hasn't ncsoft gave you back your wing that Orcs ripped out yet?
They hate kamael or something and only put the race in so we would stop crying for a new race in game?
Poster anything after 70+ is good at pvp if you have top over enchanted gear to compete with players that don't use lineage 2 for thier gear but buy it outside of game in a term we call ebaying.

There is only one archer class, PR. The other one you refer to is a dagger, AW, and is NOT an archer in any way. Make no mistake, the skills you have before lvl40 are hardly ever used afterwards.
EDIT: I probably should mention that NCSoft seems to try to balance things out, so that you are never a guaranteed winner or loser vs any other class you meet. Ok, they may fail miserably at times, but for the most part, sadly, they have done it right. Means no food chains, etc, any more. There are some underlooked classes that have hard time in pvp, but that has nothing to do with archers.

The Dark Elf archer class is called Phantom Ranger. It hits hard, but has a lower base crit rate than archers from the other races.

Phantom Ranger actually has a higher Crit rate than Hawkeye. Higher Base Dex means Higher Crit.
Gladiator /Duelist does fine in PvP after 78. They're actually pretty dangerous buffed up.
On a side note, LOL to the person that thinks SoulBreakers will kill mages. yeahhhh, maybe pre-76 mages. Their dismally low CON means they're an easy 2 shot for me at 79. The only Kamael that even gets a chance is the Berserker if he stuns me and disarms me fore I blo him to bits. Obvously you haven't PvP'd against and 80+ mages. Our damage is ludicrous.
hmm dont think so + SB have silence+root+rush+blink+disarm+sword and shield+death mark+checkmate( done 6k damage to lvl 78 mage)+ on lvl 81 they got almost 100% percent para and they crit too much+ they can steal buffs and do damage how much you have them
And person who know how to play SB is deadly opponent for mages
I dont say we dont get owned by them but mages can be killed quite easy if you know what you are doing, we can fear of archers yes
but any other class can get easy done by mages too
Your from Holland, so pick a EU server with a low ping like Teon. Also, don't use a wireless connection. If this ain't working, call KPN :o
ehm maybe this is a dumb question but...
teon is one of the most populair servers right??so how can it be a low ping????
and i play on teon but now its going better .....i think cus in the darkelf city is nobody
