can i upgrade my stats in L2
or is it just automaticly???
if u can upgrade, what do i need to upgrade??
im human fighter i wanna own at pvp and finaly i wanna be dualist.
first, it's Duelist, not dualist (sorry, I'm picky). Second... the stats aren't changeable unless you modify them with tattoos (which generally enhance one stat and decrease another). Your skills need to be learned though.

And you're going on with the wrong mentality here. There will be a long, long, long, long, long (have I said long?) way ahead of you before you can even start "owning" in PvP. Starting the game with this mentality will be a huge slap on your face once you start truly pvping.

And the definition of "Owning" in PvP is very relative in this game. It's all about gear. And experience. And the situation. So my suggestion? Before you start saying you want to "own" at Pvp, you have to learn a lot first. Don't start with that mentality, it won't help you at all.

it whas just a question and im just looking forward to my charracters reputation so if u dont help me than dont reply.
You're going all wrong on this, my friend. And I did help you. I answered ALL your questions. But you seem to only care about owning on PvP, so...

Good luck with that. I hope the game will show you the truth soon enough.

What ValerieRose says here is correct.
You can change various stats of your character but a gain in one will be a loss in another. However, before you do any of this, learn your best game style with the skills you have and then consider altering stats to enhance your play.
You can't just level up a character and get the best kit possible and then expect to beat everyone, the game just isn't like that. Obviously it makes a difference what level you are and what kit you have but skillful gameplay of a lesser character (in terms of level/kit) could prove victorious.
Gameplay and tactics are worth a lot in pvp in L2.
If all you care about is PvP then unless you play 24/7 you won't be in any decent PvP for a few months. L2 is not WoW.
That's what I tried to say, Purpie, but apparently I wasn't being helpful.

Oh well. He'll see for himself soon enough. Too bad he ignored the fact that I did answer his question.
I wonder if he's going to be one of those people to level up to 30ish, beg for money for days, get ignored and quit or level up in rags and start flagging on people in shiny armor and get turned inside out and annihilated. Or hopefully someone who doesn't flag on a high level and get 1 shotted where your confidence just dies.
What you would need to 'own'

- S weapons and armour (about 2.5 bils for all, not oed, not elemented). Oed and elemented highly advised, but a lot more expensive
- Some serious jewels.
- "Straight hands". (You should know your char and your enemies' chars as well, and you should be able to do things right and quickly)

What you need, but won't get on your own

- Good live buff
- Good live heal
- Const group that is used to you and that you are used to
- Real pvp experience, which is impossible in solo. Arenas don't count, sorry.
- A clan to support you, as sometimes you just can't hold on your own.

L2 is not a game where one man matters.

Oh, and don't expect to win all fights. Random, skill, numbers, location, composition of the enemy party - all of it matters, and there is no guaranteed win here.
HMM His wanting to own at pvp means we have a player whose a prime candidate to go out and buy a botted up nobless with top OE gear and no offense but he might also kill grandma when she tells him to stop for dinner .

Thinking val didn't help him is how i made my assumption on that. If you really wanna own at pvp then maybe you should do like valerie said and learn to play the game 1st that means legit no ebaying and try with 1 acct make friends becuase all the pvp is normally done in groups i have heard and alot these days have gear that you won't know how to compete against unless you know how to play.

You my friend with that mentallity are gonna get slapped in the face when you start pvping and realize you have no idea on how to play your character cuz all you wanted was to logg in and be lvl 85 on day 1and own at pvp. You can't expect to walk in to a mixed martial arts fight expecting to own the other guy when you have no clue what your doing. Todays lineage 2 is no different since we have alot of cheaters in the game you have to learn how to play your toon and set up with top gear and the right elemental stones, tats everything.
That was what I was trying to say, Eamonn. But apparently I wasn't helpful enough ;) And my fears about it are just the same as yours. That's the type of mentality that ruins the game in my opinion.

And hence, after that, I gave up on trying to help. I believe the OP will find things out on his own. And the game will slap him in the face when he realizes he will not wake up tomorrow and OWN at PvP if he is a legit player.
There may still be some chance. All he has to do is to visit Giran and look at the prices, and then, perhaps, sit by a crystal and watch a couple sieges to see what is going on there and what people wear/use, how they behave, etc. Might be enough to cool down.

That said, I'd really like to see another Gladi in L2... right now it seems the class is dying out much like WL's did.
I see plenty of Glads on my server (I myself have one). But as long as the OP keeps the "I want to OWN at PvP" mentality, there's no hope. Perhaps upon playing the game, he'll realize that there's no such thing.

Unless, of course, the desire to own at PvP is bigger than the desire to play this game legitly as it's meant to be played. Which is, of course, detrimental to the game itself.
woooo wait a sec.
im not saying that its easy to get lvl 85 and buy good armor and stuff..
i just wanned to ask how to build a good charracter for pvp
im not thinking its easy and im not going to beg money
i just wanned to know what u need for a good pvp charracter
There is no way to 'build' a character for PvP until you get to A/S/S80 (level 6x+).

This isn't Dungeons and Dragons - you can't customise your character. If you take two level 70 Gladiators they will have the same skills (or at leas have access to the same skills) and the same stats. The only real customisation you can do is to your basic stats, with tattoos. You have very little choice in gear and weapons. Most customisation comes from augments which are completely random.

Your play style defines how good you are in PvP with a specific class - all you need is practice, practice and more practice. By the time you hit 70 you will begin seing PvP (dependant on clan).
Ok I'm going to be nice (cause I'm nice, really!). What Purpie said is true. There's not many ways to "customize your character". The skills are the same. The thing that differs, besides the tattoos that Purp mentioned, is the fact that there are some accessories and "luxuries" if we want to call them that that will make you stronger. Such as Boss jewelry that give you extra stats, enchanted armors that will increase pdef and evasion, enchanted weapons that will increase your patk. But all of those are luxuries because they cost WAY too much. If you're a legit player, you will only dream of those for a long, long, long time.

Bear in mind that PvP is a very wide notion in this game. You can do 1on1 PvP mostly from lvl 1, if you want, since L2 is a PvP open game. Anywhere outside towns and other specific regions are PvP areas, meaning you can attack anyone you want. Bear in mind, though... every time you decide to attack a player, consequences may insue. Either the player will fight back, or it's an alt and the player you kill will log a lvl 7x to kill you. You won't be partaking on Siege PvP or things like that until you're a high level character, which will take you quite a while if you're planning on being legit as you should be.

Even without the best boss jewels and auguments and enchants, can you do well on PvP? Yes. But you will need to learn how to play your class. And that includes learning it while PvEing against monsters. If you want to rush to high levels, not only you will NOT learn how to play your class, but you will find yourself unable to afford the gear you will need to "own" at PvP. This game has two grinds, my friend. One is the level grind, the other is the money grind. You can't expect to be able to own at PvP if you don't make money, and making money will probably lower your level rate.

So there's much more than just "I want to own at PvP, what do I have to do". There's a long way ahead of you before you start owning at PvP, and if you refuse to listen to people that are trying to open your eyes to it, you will be slamming hard against the wall real soon.
I play a Gladi (Love it!), Duelist soon.. :D

anyway... PK- you should read Purp and Valerie's posts closely, they are not being critical of you, they are telling you what you wanted to know. The question you ask is not easily answered in a helpful way.

Stats (str, int, wis, men, dex, etc) are not directly "altered" except through gaining levels and then automatically upgraded by the game based on your level. you can't influence that change. However, you can pick up stat improving Gear and Tatooes as well as some augments that can be added to weapons (and jewelry); but augments are random and stat improvement augments are slightly rare. Any armor or tattoo stat related change will + up one or two but will also decrease one or two others to balance the change.

sorry to be redundant but I know purp and val were tryin to help you and I think a misunderstanding of some text skewed the validity of the responses.
Aillierynn on Phoenix Gladiators must be the toon of the game or blade dancer's as well becuase everyone uses Dual swords. I have a 45 Warlord alt and i love the class and i'm seeing a few of those also but not sure if Warlord's or if players subbed Destroyer and are using poles.

I wonder how i'd do with a similar geard OL as mine in pvp since i am the 1 acct use what i can get playstyle. OL is in common light tallum set with either common blood tornado's , a common soul bow, or a common NM shield with a common Bloody orchid at lvl 67 jewlry is common b and maybe 1 real c grade earring.

PVP to me isn't worth it since players have ruined the game with ebaying but the PVE is still fun when you can proove a point that you can lvl with crap gear in hard spots.

AW At lvl 32 with a ng short bow ng shot and wooden set can lvl in HC with 35 lvl skills cuz of a dlvl but that was in chronicle 3. This new game same AW can lvl with b grade fists anywhere in game so point is you only need top gear to compete in pvp , the realm of the ebayers i call it.
can i upgrade my stats in L2

I've been playing my archer for 3+ years, Lv 78 Noble, and the only owned, is me. You need to play 10 hours a day for 2 years and Ebay thousands of dollars for the good gear to own.

Just play fair and have fun. You may own before the game ends.
2 Eamonn: It must be all the BD's then. My CL, for instance, on that destiny event, made his main a sagi. He was a glad before... A few more glads either left completely or rerolled. BD's are plentiful, though, so it must be them wielding duals. Besides, duals are arguably best for levelling pp, wc, sws(I levelled my sub with duals), and generally anyone else who has no particular skills attached to a certain weapon, but has to stick to melee; even summoners use duals to add some dps.

Oh, and there's just one 'l' in my name ;)

+1 :)
