In this issue: Pre-Valentine's Day~~Advice for newleyweds, memorable honeymoon events, DarkElf Diary, WhinEvent, and More!
By popular demand, NCSoft is going to formalize what has been an ongoing event on the boards for several years now Competitive Whining! There will be a competition on each server followed by an interserver Whine`O`Rama Championship, somewhat similar to that team PvP event from years back. The top three WhineMeisters on each server will get a free ingame item (a diaper which they cannot remove, takes two inventory slots) while the Game Wide WhineChampion's diaper will be the bright yellow. Whine categories include:
- Most Repetitive aka "This game is too hard" or "I want an auctionhouse"
- Most Childish aka "I'm a 80/79/70, where is the gk in giran?"
- Most Absurd aka "This is a bad event because I have to work this weekend"
- Most anti-dwarf aka "His price is too high so he is a griefer"
- PvP related aka "Not Fair! I had to go bio on the siegefield!"
- Open competition Whiners Paradise
More details in the next SS soon!
On a recent trip to Austin, a RumPunch Reporter took two of the NCHotties (back room babes) out for a Margarita Drinking Contest. After the sacrifice of half a case of limes, Hottie #2 gave us the lowdown on the "Gracia Matrimonial Expansion" scheduled for fall of this year. While my notetaking deteriorated as the evening progressed, the facts remembered include...
- L2 weddings, must have done the Formal Wear quest (or bought the threads)
- None of that 'One Man, One Woman' stuff, any 2 toons can marry but NO DE/LE weddings
- Husband/Wife (or whatever you want to call them) can summon each other with a summonstone
- Any rez by spouse is 10% higher than normal (Marry a Cardinal, Brezzes for Life)
- Taxes paid at ALL npcs will be 5% higher for married toons, the 'marraige penalty'
- Toon stats impacted by religion presiding over ceremony (shillien, Enesiad, Eva, etc) giving elemental resists, like +20 Dark Resists if its a shillien wedding
- Children
Yeah, I said Children. Children are coming to L2. Well, really what is coming is another Character Slot which will be your child. Each married toon/account gets one more slot. However, the creation of this toon is not via the standard toon creation method, but rather will be a mix of the parents. It will randomly have some state from each one...DE speed and Orc HP if you are lucky, Orc speed and DE HP if you are not. You cannot delete children characters, you get one when you click the 'Procreate' button and you keep what you get.
The worst / best part of it? The looks...you get a mix of parent traits. A dwarf and an orc (called a Dork) could yield a huge orcish toon with red hair and pigtails. Two DE ladies might spawn a daughter with a truely impressive set of, uh, DE characteristics.
The other worst / best part of it? Some characters will now be left handed. You ask, who gives a hoot? The PvPers do, that's who! Now all toons are right handed. A left handed toon will have advantages/disadvantages over right handed toons. Think a left handed dagger fighting a character with a shield, now the shield blocks 50% less of the attacks! A left handed archer ignores shield defense from ahead, but faces the shield if standing to the left of the right handed target. You can see how a whole matrix of physical attack changes will impact the children of the Lineage2 world.
Just to be clear, one child per account, so only marry your main. Choose wisely, no divorces, no re-dos.
Man, there gonna be some uglie toons this time next year.

I would like to start by saying "RumPunch" I love you, will you marry me? & what is your main character? I just want to make sure we don't get an Dork. Lol jk ;)
Oh man I had to seriously laugh with the child part...I had all sorts of combinations popping in sight with the possibilities that would open...We are sure in for some strange breeds :p
