Necro - Anchor?

when a target is paralyzed by anchor, can you deal dmg to it? just looking through skill list and curious, that's all.

Yes.
Yes, but enjoy the paralyze effect while it lasts. Next update will bring a big nerf to Anchor, and it will only be paralyzed after the first 15 seconds, if I read it well?

I can use it to an advantage if it works like i think it does... first all slow then a petrify
Meh I only use Anchor in PvE circumstances and depending where I am, so... I still wish they'd nerf it on PvP and not on PvE. I don't see why it'd be overpowered against mobs hehe
Muahahaha

Enjoy Anchoring me and then dying before the Para sets in.
Yeah, in PvP it is overpowered, and for some classes 15 seconds of movememnt will provide precious time to bsoe...

I like the way you think :) Lol

Heh any Necro that tries Anchor first against another nuker has no idea how to play his class in PvP.

I don't care about the nerf on PvP. But gee, they could leave it on PvE. It's very useful sometimes :(

It's like I said... a Necro that attempts to Anchor as the first thing they try on a PvP setting has no clue what he's doing. And deserves to die for not using EVERYTHING ELSE in his/her disposal. I am not giving a darn about the nerf in PvP. But... I use it on PvE depending on what I'm doing and I'll miss that quite a lot.

What are you gonna do? Nuke me to death?

You do realize that after 79 storm screamers VERY commonly 2-3 shot people, right?

You had better hope silence lands, is all I got to say. Supposing you ever get within 600 range to cast any curses.

Meh anchor is only good for close ranged DD's and even then, its a last resort

For someone running up pre 76 i would

gloom, DS, DS, fear, anchor, posion, DS till dead

usually by the time fear lands , the guy is in 400 range, if not you can hit off sleep and if it lands, you can run up and anchor, then finish it.

next update, it'll just be

gloom, DS,DS, fear, anchor, posion, sleep...that'll kill your 10 seconds to SOE cause once your feared, BSOE is gone.

Provided I'm your level (which I'm not), and I'd ever PvP you (which I wouldn't), I'd have OE'd my main curses. I can only say that much. Since I am only lvl 69 (closing on 70), I cannot tell you about my higher level curses or the Dark Vortex. I've never been that high level. I'll speak to you again once I get there and know how they truly work.

But... that said... PvP in this game is very, very, very subjective. You cannot simply assume you will win all the time. It's a little too arrogant.

I would truly like to see a skilled SH and a skilled NEcro going face to face. Equal equipments, equal enchants, equal everything, and see if it's such a walk in the park as you always seem to say it is.

FOr some reason, I truly doubt it'd be that much of a piece of cake.

I'll video the next time I roll one.

It's not arrogance. After you realize that their damage drops to crap in S-grade, while mine skyrockets to ridiculous levels, you'll get it.
As I said, equal levels, equal equipment, and equal skill (as in player skill. Strategy, and knowing their char, not a noob that bought their char at 7x and has no clue how to play it against a skilled guy that leveled his from lvl 1).

I still don't think it's that easy. If I were a PvPer, I swear I'd go there and test it myself, but I'm not, so chances are I will never get into it (I don't really care, to be honest. I hate PvP and all the "I own you better than you own me" means zilch to me. Cause I simply don't care enough).

I find it simply way, way too hard to imagine it'd be as easy as you like to claim.

Smart Necros have Wind Attribute on their Arcana Robes, and you aren't 2 shotting that unless you crit Vortex + Slug. Need at least 1 crit and for the Necro to not have pots on him to 3 shot him.

2-3 shotting poor nukers in DC isn't anything to rave about. Necros aren't spellsingers, they live longer, and their pot efficiency is twice that of a character without transfer pain (i.e. a CP pot actually give 400+100 CP due to the damage being split in half, QHP, CP Pots, other CP Potions I have, Elixirs, GHP, etc.)

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb280/UbahNecro/ServitorHP.png

My Servitor HP says that in order to 1 shot me, a Storm Screamer must Crit for about 11k with Slug if my Servitor is full, cause your Vortex will get cut in half and it will still have about 11k HP left. The Necro can curb your damage down significantly by Wind Attributing his Arcana Robe set. That would be the #1 Element Choice for me. Unfortunately, I cannot afford it yet...

StSc is actually what Necro was when HB was opened. The price of Wind Stones seems to be coming down fast. I have already seen a few people linking 60 Resist S Grade armors. The damage isn't so imba when people are running with 120 on their Armor + Resist Wind and Elemental Protection (cause like... 0 nukers Surrender anymore).

Even if you leave Wind Vortex on the Necro, a properly geared Necro can still win easily against a Storm Screamer for the reasons I stated above. Wind should be the #1 choice element for Necros cause Storm Screamers are the only nuker that can crit you hard enough to bypass Transfer Pain when you lack Attribute Defense on your armor. With 120 Wind I've seen them laughed at by a variety of classes, nukers included.

A Clannie of mine is a 78 StSc and beats 79 StSc cause he has 120 Wind on his Arcana Set and they don't :P If a 78 StSc can do it, a Necro can easily do it. Even without Wind Vortex.

In short... Yes, I've heard StScs 2-3 shot people with no elemental defense, or people in A Grade robes all the time. So do Sorcs and Spellsingers. Things change when gear catches up to class imbas, though. Ask any Necro.

It's only as easy as he claims when you're killing lowbies and undergeared people, or crit once or twice (depending on how geared, the Necro is).
Well, I don't talk about things I don't know (cause it'd make a fool out of myself), but I really find it hard to believe that unless the Necro is caught by surprise (Ganked! -gasp-), or is seriously unprepared for PvP that it'll be that easy. Honestly. And I'm just a noob (hey, I'm not even 70 yet!) and although I am ok on PvP, I'm not a PvPer so I honestly don't talk if I don't know.

But I find it hard to believe it's such a piece of cake. To be true. Especially with the arsenal of options the Necro has (and Transfer Pain which the DE Nukers don't have).

I've said it in threads before, and I'll say it again.

Don't buy it? Come to phoenix and test me, scrub. Beat me once and I'll pay for the transfer.

Just so you know - A nuker wearing Major Arcana is junk. The elemental resist isn't worth the drop in casting speed, and Wind Stones don't give Wind Defense, earth stones do.

PLEASE come to phoenix and test me, so I can video your shame and put it up here.

Transfer for what? Lol

There are 79-81 Storm Screamers on Bartz, with better gear than you (Do you have a Valakas?). They cannot 2 shot me through transfer pain unless they crit, or 3 shot me with Vortex-Nuke-Slug unless they crit through transfer pain and cause it to skip the dmg transfer.

You know what I meant with the stones, we don't have to go in circles about that.

And yes, the Elemental Resist is worth it. Nukers get ~60% or more damage from 150 Weapon. Negating their Weapon Attribute drops their damage [almost] back to the level of a 0 Attribute weapon or less. You PvP with DC and talk about how ****** Necro damage is? LOL???

You are not 2 shotting a geared Necro who knows itemize his toon. You should know that Attributed Arcana is worth it, with attribute in the game. You aren't 80, so in DC a Necro will ******* rock you with a 150 weapon if you are PvPing him in DC robes and he has attribute on his armor. Duh?

Nukers in DC aren't only getting 2 shotted by other nukers, but 1-2 shotted by Daggers and Archers, too...

Do you also do Olympiad in DC Robes?

I don't need to transfer, you have shown how horrible you are with these ******ed statements. You probably should just not bother responding, TBH...

Terribad :(

It doesn't matter, a Necro has over twice the surviveability of a Storm Screamer, and for someone who is speaking of PvPing in DC Robes with no Attribute to tell you that Necro damage is ****, seems to not have played the game since C5.

A 150 Dark Attribute Necro can probably Gloom and 3 shot a Storm Screamer in DC Robes with no Crits, TBH.

Dude.

Do you know that Curse Gloom is 900 Range, same as a Nuke, and instant cast?

Please.... STOP...

You're not uber, you're not intelligent, and you obviously don't pay attention.

Where did you get you toon from?

This person doesn't seem to understand the game mechanics, and doesn't even know the range on Curse Gloom. I think it's time we stop entertaining him... He provided this gem:

Just so you know - A nuker wearing Major Arcana is junk. The elemental resist isn't worth the drop in casting speed.

Sounds like fun - if a little difficult to orchestrate.

I won't say you haven't seen SS's get downed by a good Soultaker. I've been jumped and silenced by wartags and then killed. But how many SS's do you know that are 79+, have both of their good 79 skills (Echo and Slug) and 150 wind on an AM?

My offer still stands. If your Soultaker is such hot ****, bring it on over and prove it.

There are 4 79-81 Storm Screamers with 150 mace in my clan. They have all their skills. At least 2 Wartags that are 79-80 with all their skills and 150 Mace. I also know another level 80 StSc with 150 Mace and all his skills (been 8x since like Interlude, so maybe 81/82 now).

I know a lot.

You're thinking behind the curb. Welcome to 2009.

Just wait til Nova gets on Phoenix, Lolz. If you see that few high level toons, you're the one who needs to transfer and check some things out...

I could care less about Nova. As much as you shoot your mouth off you should be able to do it yourself.

ROFL. Make yourself look dumb more. You're the only one who seems to be a scrub in this thread, TBH. Lack of knowledge about basic game mechanics, and think you're one of the only level 79+ StSc with all skills and 150 mace in the game lolz.

I have a nostromo but I've used it a while then returned to the keyboard, too lazy or awkward to use the pad.

Regardless, I have to be flagged to be cursed, or in a PvP zone.

I'm gonna flag with Vortex, and follow with slug, giving me a huge head start. I'm done discussing it. Don't believe me, come prove it.

or the soultaker can flag with dark vortex, but really lets see what we have here.

Soultaker advantages

higher wit by 1(cast speed, mcrit)
higher men by 2 (mp, mp regen*, mdef, debuff resist)
higher con by 3 (hp, hp regen, cp, cp regen, weight)
gloom-23% mdef reduction, debuff resist reduction
transfer pain- recieves 1/2 damage from attacks
summon assistance
2 silences
mage bane-kills empower and acumen
Necromancy- higher mattk, dark resist(shadow flare, dark vortex, vamp claw, death spike)
curse of abyss-lowers speed, mattk, cast speed, mcrit
anchor-(not likely)
curse disease(does this work on drains? works on battle heal)

StormScreamer advantages

higher int by 3- (mattk, debuff land rate)
arcane roar- (increase matk, elemental resist)
empowering echo-(increase mattk)
arcane chaos-(reduces debuff resist)
2 vortexes
wind vortex slug
more nuke options wind/dark/nonelemental
Half of that doesn't matter in PvP. Too many luck and o'crap factors exist.

I am just here to invalidate a fact that is not fact at all.

Relying on M.Crit to say you can 2-3 shot someone doesn't make anything a fact. The days of 90+% Crit Rate Valakas Storm Screamers ended quite a while back...
