just a quick question

Dark Elf Classes Started Last reply 19 posts
ok. i'm seeing spellhowler this and spellhowler that. but what exactly is it is a spellhowler????
It's the dark elf mage class. Lowest cast speed of the 3 elemental mages but also highest matk. At 79 they just get silly with their matk and start 2-3 shoting most ppl :D

I got mine to 76, and then 2 shotting mobs got boring. I'm hoping it will be more fun now that I got:

Arcana mace.
A wider array of buffers/support.
Gender-change to female :D
that's it!!!???? that's what a spellhowler is????? i know i promise it would be a quick question. but can you spare a little more info? ty

Give that a watch. Pretty much gives you an idea of what a Storm Screamer (Spellhowler) does.

Also quite amusing.
oh ty. that is so cute. i'm watching it. i'm watching it.

Spellhowler has the highest mattk capabilites of all classes
has the lowest cast speed of nukers
the lowest mentality of nukers
the lowest constitution of all
the lowest hp/cp in the game
very good survivability
They rely on their fierce power and use curses to hinder the enemy(more so at 76+)

The major stats you will need to pay attention to

INT
Increases damage of magic attacks and success rate of curse spells.

WIT
Increases chance of magic critical hits, casting speed, resistance to Hold, resistance to curses (such as HP degeneration, decreased HP recovery rate, increased skill re-use time, and decreased effect of heals).

MEN
Increases magic defense, maximum MP, MP recovery speed, poison resistance, and curse resistance. Decreases probability of magic interruption.

CON
Increases maximum HP and CP, HP recovery speed, weight limit, underwater breath gauge, shock resistance, and bleeding resistance.

Basic setup is
1 handed mage weapon(perferably magic sword) with acumen
Robe set with casting speed bonus
good jewlery
Dyes: +4 int, +4 wit, +4 con|||-8men, -4 str

Cursed Death Link Dark (More power at very low hp)
Shadow Flare Dark (Overhit)
Body to Mind (Sacrificies some hp into some mp)
Corpse Life Drain (Absorbs some hp from a corpse)
Fear (Makes the target forcibily turn about 180degrees and run)
Curse Chaos (Lower's target accuracy)
Slow (Reduce's target's run speed)
Surrender to Wind (Reduces target's wind resistance)
Surrender to Posion (Reduces target's posion resistance)
Seed of Wind (Increases Wind attribute causing wind attacks to hit harder)
Curse Posion (Deals damage over time)
Posionous Cloud (Deals damage over time, AOE)

Third Class is Storm Screamer
oh tytyty. starting to get the basic ideas now and putting together all the components. but i still think there're more to it than that. things like on the other sides of things. oh itizo exziting! so please do keep it coming. tysvm.
I have a mid level 2x Elven wizard as an alt for when vitality is low, Now im jw are SHs that much better then Spellsingers? or do they even out in the end
Depends on your play-style really. No class is better than another class because they're pretty different. Each class has it's own perks. Spellsingers are by far the weakest, however their cast speed makes up for it.
SHs are dangerous if they land hits on you.. yesterday my 71 SH 5 shotted a 76+ Saggi.... Ok.. I landed 2 crits.. :D

First thing you should try doing when you meet one SH.. is try to render him useless... Silence, Cancel, Stun.. etc.
mine 2 adenas about SH.
PvE: if you have much adenas you can go death spike style - death spike, death spike, body to mind (and hp potion) and repeat. That allows grind with very low overtime mp consumption, but that cost additional adenas for grinding.

PvP:
I find out that SH are a little bit kamikadze style. I mean they can't use summon for "transfere pain", also theis cast speed is prety low. It is more like "glass" version of human sorcerer.
Ok, everything is not so bad.
Melees are more/less meat for you: slow, fear lands prety well so you can control them easily. Aura flash also helps a lot. Even when dagger apears near you, if you are not dead after first hit you can flash, fear, slow him.
Archers is a little bit problem, but if you wear shield (which for mage is must) and apropriate buff you should block most attacks.
Other mages can be big problem, just pray silence to land.

Two big advantages: high m.attack and usually peoples don't put defence attributes against wind.
Three disadvantages: slow cast speed (you really need to master time calculation for some skills), low hp, wind attributes are expencive
Gender-change to female :D

DC sux on female...Ill maybe think about surgery if I get s80 lol

Storm Screamer-http://www.lineage2.com/images/skill_icons/skill1420.jpg Cyclone

Archmage-http://www.lineage2.com/images/skill_icons/skill1419.jpg Volcano

Soultaker-http://www.lineage2.com/images/skill_icons/skill1423.jpg Gehenna

Soultaker also has Day of Doom, but that's a mass debuff

Magic so powerful that you need help to cast it
SH is very powerful and fun imo. also best mp management and bang for your buck of all the nukers. (high matk = harder hits per nuke/per mp)

just remember, at endgame, getting 150 wind element for your weapon will be ungodly expensive and probably impossible for normal players. I would say that's the biggest disadvantage the SH has, vs the two other nukers who can get their 150 elements water and fire relatively cheaply.

150 dark isn't easy either. soon to be 300
true, necro will not have an easy time of it either, but easier than SH to get 150...

prices on Aria atm: 4m per fire/water, 25m per dark, 70m per wind...

first stone gives 20 element, rest give 5, about half of stones fail, so need 53 stones total.
150 element = 212 million for fire/water, ~1.4 billion for dark/divine, 3.7 billion for wind. gf...
