Well I really like the xp events.
getting nuking skills was a real nice twist and made it alitle more fun.
And you are making alot of events these days and that is a real plus :)

The story was kinda "meh?" I really miss a good RP story event, fells its missing alot of the times.
Removing the sticks sucks ( you couldent see this one coming :) ) But really a better way to notify the playerbase that you change a event, making it show when you logg in is not a bad idea.
Its a sad joke they change the event after it starts and add there deleting the event items the same day the event ends without a announcement easier to find.
I liked it, in overall. It was good for nukers, good for those that didn't mind exping as a nuker, not so good for those who can't stand playing nukers.
And I thought it was very pointless to make it once a day per ACCOUNT and not per toon. I ended up seeing my friend becoming a GK and I couldn't since the char I use to play with him only was on the same account of my SE who had bought the stick earlier. I can't see why they would restrict it to once a day per account, since the sticks weren't transferrable or tradable or freightable. Made no sense to me.
The rest, it was a good event. Not many rewards, but it was good to have full vitality for a while while exping.
I liked the event, pitty that it where only 1 week AND 1 per day for 1 account! Why that? why not 1 per toon like the revita pops? Also that they got removed i cant understand...Hope more events like that follow soon! :)
P.S.: I want my MouseCoins and my bows ++ removed also plix plox!!!

I like it it help me level my Sub faster and that's always good. ;)
It was a good event, but only for my nuker... the things I liked were the vitality boost and how your vitality soared with having the transformation and a vit herb.
the things i didn't like were the lesser power of the nukes and the crazy slow casting speed with lack of recovery skills. the nerf to non mages..and the restriction to one character every 24 hours
I had a good time with and it really boosted xp along.
I think the gatekeeper 'story' was kinda funny, I dont bother with anything too indepth plot wise anyway although I'm sure some do.
Made good xp by using the gk stick where I usually hunt, starting V4 and alternating 1 round gk / 1 round normal. This kept it V4 most of the time and didnt waste any regen, while giving double usage time.
Things that would improve the event:
1. Allow sticks to stay at least a week after or indefinately like pops
2. Fighters start the gk on half mp after transform, some kinda of body to mind skill or other way to help mp regen would be nice.
PRO: The event was great for most everyone. Especially at the higher levels, the vitality boost for an hour a day was very desirable. Enough for people in party to schedule who gets to do it when and not one minute more!
The biggest problem was that I never got to use the transform because I was the healer, and my full attention and presence was always needed. Even the EE/BD/SwS, and especially the WC, could do it in between their duties. My part of the party never allowed that.
It's odd that you would leave one particular class out of it.
I enjoyed the event on my paladin. Made it easy to finish a few quests. Couldn't come close to using up 1 stick per day on two accounts though. Would run out of mana, unequip stick, exp, put stick back on. No way I can actually launch nukes for more than one hour without falling asleep.

Thats true, would have to use it non-party out somewhere.
They could change this if they added a good heal to the gatekeeper.
I was loving till i logged in this morning and found out about the sticks dissapearing.
I had to work most of the week the event was going on, and since the sticks weren't dissapearing according to the first event discription I made a point of logging in both accounts on both servers I switch between to get as many as I could. Now a complete waste of time.
Other than that, Loved using the gatekeeper transform to lvl my crafter, he actually solo'd a lot better with the nuker skills than with his normal set. I also loved that I could have leveled my SE as a nuker at least for short periods. However I never got to try that out. Was planning on using them next weekend which i had off from work :(
I also loved that this event was mostly about leveling and vitality and didn't help those crappy botters.
So A for event design and F for changing it mid stream without some type of better announcement as to the change.
For me too, event was OK: original idea, good background, nice for nukers.
Bad points:
- useless for healers and buffers: they are needed in their actual form and not as gatekeepers
- close to useless for tanks and warriors: they run out of MP so fast I got bored transforming on and off
I only participated with 2 toons in duo (Monk and Orc Shaman) and only once.
My vitality only goes below 3 on week-ends so no need to transform to get vitality back.
I'm all in favor of events that profit everybody and last longer than 1 week. As far as I am concerned, 2 weeks should be a minimum for all events.
I also consider 1 stick a day was enough.
if this was a 4 point scale (with "I didn't like it" and "joke" combined) the results so far would be a fair bell-shaped curve.
My guess is that the Devs would be pretty happy with that outcome. As a tank I was one of those rating this event as a joke. Not worth my time.
I applaud the original-like design and can see how some would really have liked this one. I have been trying to level my DA in every minute in game and this event wasn't one that would have helped me do that.
Which I think is fine. Whether shooting pigs or spelling words or finding demons or decorating trees or being GK's--I appreciate that NCSoft keeps 'trying' to do events. When you combine all of them in a year I believe they probably hit on something for most every player.
I really liked the event. It helped my sub out alot. For those healers and people who could not transform and use your stick because of your party makeup..., I am afraid I do not understand.
There was a trick to the sticks, you could have easily gotten 0 to 4 vitality solo on them without issue in about an hour. I admit though the event was not explained enough to point out the trick, and it threw me for a loop in evaluating how the vitality system works. If you did not use the stick properly to level vitality quickly, i'm talking 0-2 in 10 minutes, I don't think you got your 10k adena's worth.
1. cast time and nuke power is worse than my SH's and SE inquisitor's nukes on the same mobs. even if I could 2 nuke mobs with my SE, cast time was unacceptable and thus I died alot where I usually survive with usual nukes. Not even mentioning my SH who can usually 1 nuke mobs with all the buffs, unlike GK transform.
2. ok I still could use the transform on my leaching chars so that they could earn max exp. too bad I was busy this week and they deleted sticks. they could at least leave them like those vitality replenishing things I still have on some chars. Or perhaps for a 2 or 3 weeks if "debuff" effect on the nukes was considered too imbalanced in PvP.
overall, imo it was a very unfinished event, maybe good for a fighter chars, but they'd have to go search for 2 nuke mobs for the full utilization of transform.
so basically it was only good for leechers (chars who don't kill anything, only staying in party to earn exp and perhaps buff occasionally) and people who usually level completely solo.
Oh and I know you could go kill some 1/2 groups for quick vitality restoration but don't forget that it takes time to port back and forth, the time you could use to continue leveling without interruption. as the result it is unclear if it's a win or lose.
the other good way was switching transform on for some pre-calculated time when V4 changed to V3, then switch it off until it changes to V3 and so forth. thus 1 stick could last 2 hours per day of constant level 4 vitality level. but for me personally, it only worked good if that char didn't have to kill anything.
imo the better way to do this event was to make transform's stats and skills exactly like of the original char but with constant "vitality potion" effect and appearance change. that way everyone would be satisfied. but probably they didn't do this because they didn't have time and resources to implement all the animations for different skills on GK's model.
I got my BD from C--->B, and my WS and SE from D---->High C off this event, all while saving money on shots. So for me it was a nice event, though I do think it would have been good to leave the sticks in game for 1 week after the event npcs were taken out.
Event was good. I believe better than previous.
Someone complains that slow cast speed and low damage - remember, all KG nukes were without spiritshots...
PROS:
- easy to exp in herb areas
- better mob kill rate in compare with melee classes
- vit4 -> more exp per same time
- very low benefit (or maybe no benefit at all) for bots!!!
- no speculation with event items: ok this can go to cons too :)
- some fun and nice screen shots
CONS
- fast mp consumption, maybe it is fighters only problem
- very limited actions: you can only nuke.
- good solo only, bad for active party players. Re-equip GK stick removes ~3mins of usage, so as BD if I use dances+GK weapon -> weapon gone in 20mins.
- GK transform weapons which were shadow weapons and deleted after event: this was mistake IMHO, because you cant drop/sale/any kind transfere that weapon, it has limited activity time.
- weak story line, but hey guys, who cares novadays about quest/event story line??? Maybe 1%.
Suggestion for future: event shadow item, which allow to put self buff which restores vit on exp gain. Everything else is same as GK event.

Hint: You were using it on the wrong level/color mobs ;-P and not using flame strike I bet.
It seems some people used the sticks to xp, while others used them to get vitality. I think it was a sacrifice the more of one you got the less of the other.
Some people make the most ******ed assumptions, lol. Those people should honestly just quit, considering everything bad that happens in the world is to favor the botters.
The event really favored no one (botter/nonbotter).
Now player wise yes, robes were better to use with the weapon for higher mp and mana regen. But any player could have benefited. Slow mob killers like tanks, and dorfs probably had the greatest advantage if they used it for xp'ing since 2 shots a mob is better than the usual for their class. But as far as gaining vitality I don't see any class that had an absolute OMG unfair advantage.
Korea having a full month of this stuff vs us getting a week. I made one post in Game Suggestions, asking that the forum 'Game Suggestions' be renamed to 'Wishful Thinking'. It's a waste to read (aside for entertainment value), and definitely a waste to post there (regardless of how good ALOT of the suggestions are). The sooner you lower your expectations to 0 for the NCSoft NA's Lineage II group the better. Our events blow compared to any even in the asian market. We get a similar but extremely weak pathetic version of whatever they had. A week long event for them becomes a day event for us with .0000000001 drop rate. Thanks for the "chance for those +10 A grade weapons". A month long event turns into a week event. Sorry I started ranting, and now back to 0 expectations and sanity.
I voted amazing but I'm of 2 minds about this event. Event goal amazing. Execution was lacking however. The actual ingame event was good. The fact that they changed the rules after the event started and made no formal announcement was horrible. They should figure out the rules and finalize them before announcing the event. At least give us an announcement we can find if you must change the rules, not a random post 8 pages into an old thread.
I wish they would've let us know they were going to take them out on the following update. I only used 2 sticks :( I would've used all 7 had I known this.
Hopefully they'll bring it back soon!!
I think the players have spoken, we love exp events!!! (ie events that help us rake in the exp faster)
I have a serious question.
over one week passed after event. All GK sticks was removed.
but yesturday and today i saw few characters running with them! (Franz)
So whats happening??? Anyone knows?
yes, they putted it in their WH for sure. All sticks just got removed from the inventory and not from the WH ;)
Like that i sayed with mouse coins and event bows ++

yes, it was removed from warehouses. it was removed from inventory. it was unable to freight... so how the hell someone managed to have some after that??
