Hey there guy's so iv been doing some reviewing on the forums here and havent found any real solid answer as of yet. On my DA sub im very lost on what tats have been proven to be effective for DA's. In a nutshell I would like to be able to solo decently well and pvp. But my main concern is tanking for raids.
I have a +ed NM heavy set as well as my old +ed Tallium set - I am also working on making a DLE with health.
Tips suggestions etc are all welcome this is my first tank.
Its completely up to you and how you decide to play... but the only suggestion I can say is if you're going to use non-focus/haste weap.. don't -dex
and to -str pretty much gimps you for pvp
to -con you wont be able to tank for raids, or do too well in pvp
so best suggestion is probably just leave them alone if you want to be all around.
If you decide to specialize, just remember that con is the best thing to help with rb tank / pvp
Other than that just decide on your own, its really not hard to think of the pros/cons of every tattoo choice and make a build based on the way you like to play
Figured as much.. had come to same conclusion tbh. my GK figuring out what tats i wanted was easy but DA's really need to rely on everything :/.. I was reading somewhere about different tats to change for faster drains/panther but wouldn't that take away from the MP pool which in the end would mean less hate at raids which would mean less tanking if the archers get agro :( (if ofcourse recharges were slow)
Well, I tell you what. I am HK lvl 78 and I have used many weapons and armor sets and dyes and it all depends on your play style. The only dye I recommend you as a " must " is the +4 WIT, -4 INT because it makes your casting speed faster. Having a casting speed faster it means you can cast your panther fast too. Very useful in pvp situations where each second counts.
Now, I am currently using +4 STR, -4 CON and +4 WIT, -4 INT and I like it a lot. I hit descently hard and can cast panther little faster if I have too. Because the -4 CON, my HP is around 5K only with no buffs and IC set and yeah I get stunned very often.
I've try +4DEX, -4 CON and +4 WIT, -4 INT and honestly is good if you are in a party tanking. The +4DEX helps a lot on success shield defense and attack speed and you can land more criticals BUT is not noticable. I love the shield defense rate, that is it.
I try for fun +4 STR, +4DEX, - 8 CON, +4 WIT, +4 INT and honestly it works fine if you have a IC set as long you stay away from stun mobs. The - 8CON affects a lot imo. You will loose a lot HP, CP, weight.
I would say that get +4WIT, -4 INT and leave the rest alone since it is pretty much is balanced. I am planning to get my +4 STR removed soon.
You can still tank a RAID with -4 CON as long you have a health weapon or a descent healer in party. I've tank most 72+ raids with IC set +4 STR, -4 CON, +4 WIT, -4 INT and a Focus weapon just because the healer in our party is a good healer. If I happend to be in a party with a low level healer or I do not know the healer, I grab my health weapon to be in the safe side. DO NOT tank a raid with - 8 CON,,.. rofl
Adding +4 STR, -4 CON is good for focused leveling, but is bad for tanking and PvP.
Adding +4 CON, -4 STR is good for tanking, not so much for leveling and gimps PvP damage.
DEX isn't worth boosting, yet it's bad to decrease, funny isn't it?
Yes best thing to do is leave it alone if you level, pvp, and tank
Option 1 for just leveling
Option 2 for party tanking/raid tanking.
+4 Wit is good for casting summon panther faster, heal faster, drain faster, and carrying a acumen mage weapon on you to quickly switch to is also beneficial.
Since DA doesn't have any bow skills beyond basic power shot, do you really find it useful? Never seen it do much damage, and so slow, useless. Are you talking about a high level bow? I depend on shield/sword on standard buffs, and duals using vanguard transform

Well go find a HK with a 150 fire drac bow and tell him to shoot you and see it do much damage ;)
is about your sub tatoos? your purpose is to lvl fast?
Go +4 Str/+3 Dex/-7 Con + Talum set + Talum blade with Haste. It will allow you to hunt very well in a small party, getting you fast exp. You can decently tank for a big party against mobs.
With that setup you cant tank RB's and cant pvp but is all about lvl or...?
If you solo with buffer oop use a G wolf, if you solo on herb spot w/o buffer use your pet.
Hello everyone! I've been playing DA since C3, and I've asked this question about tats so many times. Right now I just have Str +4 Con-4, for grinding purposes.
Everytime I see a post about tats, I'm always seeing replies saying to go +4 and -4, but I rarely see anything about the smaller tats.
Since humans pretty much have good stats for the DA class, I agree that leaving them alone is probably the best thing to do. But I started thinking about the smaller tats as well, to give just a slight boost in combat.
I've never tried increasing Dex, but I'm curious as to how it would work out, and I would like to get your guy's opinion on this (Tats plus IC stats):
Normal Human stats are: Str 40, Dex 30, Con 43
IC set stats: Str +2, Dex -2
----------------------------------------------
Results: Str 42, Dex 28, Con 43
But I'm curious about Dex increase for higher shield def rate, so here's what I came up with:
Normal Human stats are: Str 40, Dex 30, Con 43
IC set stats: Str +2, Dex -2
Add Tattoo: Str -2, Dex +2
Add Tattoo: Dex +2, Con -2
----------------------------------------------
Results: Str 40, Dex 32, Con 41
So you get a small increase of 2 in Dex, but lose 2 in Con. However, the IC set gives an increase of +445 HP, so you basically get back what you lost from Con -2, while still getting a boost in Dex. But resistance to stun will go down slightly though. So you basically go back to the Normal Human stats, but with an increase in Dex.
Also, if you want to go back to normal Human stats which are good, do this:
Normal Human stats are: Str 40, Dex 30, Con 43
IC set stats: Str +2, Dex -2
Add Tattoo: Str -2, Dex +2
----------------------------------------------
Results: Str 40, Dex 30, Con 43
Plus you will get the +445 HP increase from IC.
Let me know what you guys think, and if you think the Dex increase is a good choice. I'm very curious to see how this works (if I ever get Imperial Crusader).
Also, this is a bit off topic, but I'm curious about weapon choice as well. I've always strived towards getting a Forgotten Blade, but recently, I got a Basalt Battlehammer Recipe from the quest in IT. I'm contemplating if I should craft the Basalt to use or still try to get an FB. I know swords crit more, but they miss more too on classes of high evasion. So the way I see it, you either choose to not hit everything but crit hard with a sword, or hit everything and be constant in damage with a blunt. And in Gracia final, doing damage to evasion classes causes more damage than normal because they will be able to evade more.
Thanks for reading! I'd really like to hear your different thoughts on the tattoos and weapons.

Are you a dwarf? If not don't even thing about going basalt :p FB all the way or bust. Sale Basalt rec for 10 mil buy a FB rec for similar or a bit more.
On Teon at least crafting both costs almost the same (a bit more for FB but is worth the difference) But FB V Basalt because of the weapon classes a sword is like a focus SA blunt (ok i might exaggerate a bit but still...) The extra accuracy that blunt have is not rely important.
About dyes... well it was repeated a lot over time. Depends about your hunting stile.
What i will post might not be good because that web page has eavil content but very good guides and info and cant find a clean site with dyes spreadsheet: http://www.lineage2media.com/pictures/changing%20stats.jpg
If you study the changes what dyes bring at certain + you can notice there is a brake point at 43 DEX were you get +2% incress instead of +1% on each +1 dye you put. Bad news is not humanly possible 43 dex:eek:
But you will see we got orc strength so + your strength is good, dex is good also but not awesome as in DE/LE cases.
So back to the "it all depends of you play stile"
Personally never tanked more then acople of mobs (like 3-4 mobs) so never AoE/never RB tanking. So +4 Str i got when i was a young DA, but because i like going "deep in" I never reduced my con more till 70. Except Talum set bonus, so i could afford hunting were mobs gave me burst of dmg and still allow healer time to heal me.
After 70, actually 69, i rely wanted to kill 75 light armor mobs so accuracy was a big deal.... so i increasing it via +3 dex, only +3 because hp and weight is a issue so i need it but i also need it the +2 (round up accuracy) the extra +3% atack speed/crit that accumulate with my sword haste and talum set haste all to be able to keep up with mana consumption for hate (this meaning i need it to be able to give enough dmg to keep agro and not have to over use agresive skill).
So depends were you like or want to hunt, you need to be able to grind with no stress of dying and no stress about resupplying to often but still get a decent kill rate to be worth it.
i am only 7x not s grade yet but i have played my DA on and off for 4 years now probably longer. but i have tried many different set ups myself with tats. back when wearing doom heavy and aoba with health was cool i had +5 con -5 str +4 dex -4 str. now at lvl 58 with the works for buffs with the exception of cov cause cov wasnt even a skill then i had over 15k hp/cp this is at 58. so if u wanna be a raid boss in pvp you wont kill fast but u will out last people. however i dont advise this set up it was terrible in the chronicles to come. ive tried nm with DLE health with no +2 dex -2 str to balance the difference and it was good for tanking high lvl parties but other than that i didnt like it. ive done the same thing with DC heavy but i left the +2 con -2 str alone. it was good for tanking but pvp it wasnt good still. ive had majestic heavy and it was good but i think it would be better with a DLE with crit dmg not health. the set up i have right now that i like to use is tallum heavy and if you arent in vanguard stance id have a ++++++ dama focus before 76 after 76 id have Forgotten blade focus. if in vanguard with tallum id go ++++++ tall*dama vanguard isnt the best for pvp if you grew up playing your da with siheld stun and drain. so i mostly pvp with my normal stance. oh and yes a bow regardless of bow skills or masteries is beneficial. you have root, stun, and ud. most people are smart that when u UD they will back off. but if you can stun them and root them u can hit them a bit first. and as they back off you can take out your bow and attack them from far. chances are people wont run very far from you unless they are near death. so if they faster always take out bow and shoot them. that 200 dmg might be all they have left :) but yes as you can see i have played a DA for a long time and ive done the stupidest set ups ever but you gotta do the bad ones to find the good ones :P hope this helps
I have no clue why people think HP has anything to do with tanking. A tank is a tank because of Pdef, NOT HP. In a proper party you will have BTB 6 and IC so you'll have plenty of HP. Having said that best DA tat is +5 Str -5 Con (using a 4/4 and a 1/1 or w/e). The + wit is fine too but really with hamstring becoming a physical skill on tuesday not really needed anymore (life drain is crap).
