Well, generally you can put Subclass Quest and follow what they tell you.
I had friends that got Baium with them and they didn't do anything, provided that they followed what they said. Like... if they tell you to go to the stairs, you go to the stairs and wait.
At least recently that's what happened with my friends. Put the title Subclass Quest on your toon and explain you need to stab for the sub.
I got lucky. I did mine on a Friday night and no big clans showed up. About a dozen of us went in and used the dagger. I believe under the guides, there is one for Baium. Yay for Azumanga Daioh :P

What clan are you in? Or what clans have you been in? Typically you will only be pk'd if someone knows you have been in an enemy clan or have detagged from an enemy clan just to get the quest after which you will just tag back up again...they dont pk just to do it.
Generally what Valerie says is correct..if they tell you to move from the crystal to the bottom of the stairs, do it or you will be pk'd, but you will get to go in if you move down. Be happy DV isnt around from Kain, if you didnt pay 50m or some ungodly amount they would pk you and not let anybody in. Luckily I did the same thing Calladan did back then and was able to get in before they showed up when I needed it. :)

Just log out right by the vortex with a friend, set a spy on the lower stairs with a /target baium macro. Spam it for the 8-12 hour window, soon as he pops you both log in port in and get it. Easy.
Dont do that if boss is there though :P We'd prefer to just let you stab him and not wait half hour for him to sleep again. Good way to annoy those pking you though.
not quite true, DV split up in two just before server mergers due to internal drama caused by the server transfers with 1 half joining TJ and the other half staying in DV (we still have the clan).. those staying in DV joined BH after the merger and right now the ones left still semi pvp hungry tagged up LP.. those that tagged TJ are now either banned or quit.. think only shellie & knightmaster are left from them and well yeah lol those weren't even core DV
save to say the old DV was pretty mean and didn't give a *** of other ppls opinion
