Apparently you are new to the game... Here is a hint, the general community doesn't really participate in these type of discussions, although you might find a handful here who will, most will not.
I haven't seen after interlude :( I'm wondering what happend also. One friend(wow fanboy) once told me that even tho l2 is not even close to wow, but l2 CG movies > all other taken together. I've to agree with him on this one, L2 made great CG movies.
It's a shame that the game doesn't incorporate more of its lore considering it's actually rather good and has some interesting characters such as Gran Kain.
I wish they spend more time fixing the game rather than those movies, plus those movie ain't that realistic in the gameplay either =.=
It's not the same team. But indeed it's the same money.
The CG movies and the first gameplay movies are following a storyline which interrests, with a strong wind abeam, perhaps three persons.
We probably all agree on the quality of the CG movies, but seeing B-Graders fighting over a pit of lava is not really exciting. More like "go xp noob".

Well maybe they dont have grades of armor in CG movies , they are just armors etc

Quality is more important than Quantative
Ah, seeing characters with relevant equipment is about quantity now?
Quantity is the number of CG movies. I'm fine having less CG movies if they have a good quality.
Quality has a lot of components. You can judge quality on the file itself (the size, the compression), the technique (models, textures, animations, compositing, editing...), the coherence of all the elements, the story, the way it's told (the chain of shots, etc), the depth of the universe, the connotations, the feelings it gives you, the morality, and so on...
Then the importance of each part is subjective to each viewer. But if some parts are severly lacking of matter, the others become essential.
In any case, the movies are just glimpses of cool fights/events without any real impact in the game.
L2 isn't at its code about lore or story line, it's just "grind grind grind grind pvp grind grind grind pvp..." or just *afk grind* pvp *afk grind* pvp pvp pvp...
