certainly it ****** me off when I see this, I attacked one guy, it sounded like fricking vegas with the pots popping so fast, and it's irritating because I'm not a master pot spammer.
PS werd around the campfire is that GMs are also checking for these programs as well, never fear.
They have ways. I think if you suspect a specific player of it, send an in-game petition about it. They may not be able to ban based on a video because that cannot prove anything, but if they can test a certain player in game in real time themselves there will be results.
i make it known that i dont mind bots so much, been playing a long time and have gotten used to them. (the way i see it the more paying accounts the more money nc has to improve the game)

i have to put big/small cp pots on f11/f12 so i can spam them with my mouse hand while mashing skills with the other f keys with my other hand and that makes targeting and pvping more difficult, someone using a cheat program to do the cp pots for them is rediculus! huge advantage!

Well IMO playing legit you can get gear and levels, its harder to do this way but you can do it. When you use programs that pop cp pots for you, if you are legit you cant match that, no matter how good you are, or how long you play you simply cant match it, and thus where his problem is.

Let me be real clear here Lucius--since some in the past have grossly misinterpreted my comments--I hate ALL cheaters. I don't think there is "little cheating" and "big cheating". I think everyone who violates the EULA to get an advantage or skip the time it takes to do things legit is a P.O.S and should be perma-banned.
You are absolutely correct--it is VERY possible to play this game completely legit. It may be hard to hit the highest levels and get the best gear without being in the biggest clan--but it IS possible.
Using ANY 3rd party program should get the account disintegrated for all time. Botting or ebaying should get that person sued in Civil Court by NCSoft imo (after all, the person doing those things is damaging NCSoft's overall product in the eyes of its other customers!).

I don't see that as reasonable. Spamming CP pots is the SAME cheating as all the rest in my view--and should have the same perma-ban consequence.

While I dont like botting, as it does give you an unfair advantage I am still able to reach the same point as players that bot.
So a legit player can still reach lvl 79-83. Is it easy? No. Can it be done? Yes.
So while it took me alot longer, and I had to sit infront of my computer the whole time I can still be the same level as someone who hasn't. Same goes buying in-game money and items, again its much much harder for a legit player to top gear. You can play the market, you can craft, you can even try OE weapons. With a good clan you can also get some great gear.
So can the legit player be geared as well as a cheater? Yes.

There is no way, I repeat no way for me to match a program that pops pots for a player. Thats why I could careless if you bot and buy gear. You wanna spend your money on such things, go for it. You do it your way, Ill do it mine. However I cant even come close to matching a program, this gives them an advantage that no matter how hard I work, or how long I play I can never match.

I didn't miss any point. I have one account, have always had one account, have never had the account information of any other player, and have attended every one of my toons through every second of their leveling (such as it's been).
I know this two-boxing is a bigger deal for you and that we disagree--but I didn't include it because it doesn't occur to me as someone who has only ever played one toon at a time.
To directly answer your question....no, I don't have a problem with a player two-boxing and I do not see that as "cheating"--certainly not in the vein of the rest of the examples I listed. Unlike many others Piro, I won't debate you on your opinion on this for 62 pages of thread responses. Believe what you like and I'll do the same.

You can press a key and the g15 starts spamming cp pots until you press another key that instructs it to stop. The player is free to do other things, like killing enemies. The nostromo can do the same thing.

The cheating program goes way beyond that. For one it automatically stops and starts your CP pots. It also does elixers for you and QHP. Nostromo comes no where close to these programs.

You know if you actually leveled your SE with inquistor instead of whining about people boxing on the forums which will never end becuase there is no rule against it, you would be able to subclass something like a fighter, or a nuker and wouldn't have to worry about no-one partying your QQ SE. I don't mean to be mean, but jeez. An advice, if you stopped complaining so much, people would actually party you. I have a SE alt that i can easily get parties with because I contribute and don't QQ on the boards cause I see a SH running around with a SE on autofollow with a recharge and buff macro.

Its simple really.. The hardware simulates a keystroke. It just hits it really fast over and over and doesnt stop until you tell it to. I can copy that with a standard keyboard, hence why it isnt cheating.
Ex. A: Pot Program

this Illegal program and nostromo do the same. they both emulates keystrokes to spawn cp pots and whatever other pots you place on your bars. in both cases you will need to hit a key to start spawing pots. only difference for me looks like program does that in a smarter way, but principle is the same.
and for me its funny how those macro programing keyboards are Legals in some cases and ILegals in other cases. its a realy funny policy. gf ncsoft.

LOL either one wont do anything without thinking. as i said in both situacions you will have to press key either to start spawn cp pots with nostromo or to turn on auto cp spawning that these softwares have. this software does have an advantage over any fancy keyboard you can get in market based on what i have read on forums about it.
if Ncsoft start banning ppl that use this software anytime soon, i think that most of servers will be almost empty since it seems to be very popular on all servers.

To the OP: send vids like that into the GM's by utilizing your account pages on their support site. They respond, and they take action. Trust me. You might not see it personally and you might not see it for a while, but action is taken.
I agree that automated programs like this are garbage and need to be stopped, and the users banned from the game. The sad part is there will always be a new program and a new player that wants to cheat like this, so it will be a never-ending battle for the GM's and players alike.

If 'all the stuff they have' costs that much and it's just account payments, that's a bit excessive. If it's other things like gear, adena, etc. that they payed for with real-life money, then they deserved to be banned in the first place and need a new hobby.

But first, back to the OP: I still agree, something needs to be done, and I'm sure things are being done as much as possible. It's a tricky thing as there will always be people wanting to cheat, and plently of them thinking that doing it secretly with 'undetectable' programs makes it O.K. (fail), which makes the entire problem-solving process more difficult for everyone who want things set right.

What I said had nothing to do with if deserve to be banned or not, I'm saying that they would be ****** and sue them claiming to be legit cause they paid thousands adena/gear/account and stuff and want it back if they did get banned.
I just love how some1 in these threads always turns buffpets into cheating rofl. I have my wifes char which is a prohet and sometimes when she is not playing i use her. But be clear on this in have 2 computers 1 foot apart and the mouses are 6 inches from each other,i use no illegal programming and have to look at both screens to buff,heal or anything else. Just so you know, no special programs are required to spam CP pots, just a macro on a g15 keyboard is enough.
This is not interactive. There is no way to trigger that automatically, based on your current hp/cp: a live user must actually hit a key.
Programs that decrypt/fake game software or communication to achieve automation are still illegal (obviously).

I would like to see people start getting banned for this seeing as how it is going to make a lot of people quit playing L2 if it is not stopped.
