Now I haven't had this problem recently but I have had in the past and it also causes the problem since you cannot kick them from clan while they are in combat.
Wonder what HGMSpam suggests? Sometimes you cannot locate this botting member since L2 still has not implemented a clan leaders ability to see where their members are located. You cannot use the bot report button on a clan or ally member either. Now you can put a ticket into support or through in game but that could take a long time to happen.
Last time this happened I had to wait till downtime to kick the person from clan but it made my clan look bad the whole time the person was tagged. Also you can see this is a major problem and one of your enemies found a clannie who is botting because you cannot kick them while they are being killed and rezzed.
Any suggestions or possible fixes to these problem for legit clan leaders HGMSpam?
Most bots will leave combat every once in a while, either because the next mob is far enough away or they've cleared the spot, so I'd say just keep trying. If you know they're botting, then someone must have seen them, so you should be able to ask them where, at which point you can take care of the problem yourself.
I don't see why u can't kick a clan member while in combat, is there is a reason behind it? Sometimes u can tell someone is botting but you cannot find them neccessarily. I shouldn't have to go red to get someone out my clan.

combat can be PvP too. there's probably a whole range of grief tricks that could be done if you were able to.
We drop them once and then kick if we can or just kick. I have never seen where you can't dismiss a member from the clan no matter what the situtation is.
Maybe because we try to verify it first and they are usually dead when we do it, but I have not heard of this bug.

It's not a bug guy. As someone noted above if you could detag during "combat" then you'd have ppl that let a wartag hit them and just before they die they would drop tags and the other guy goes red. Great way to screw ppl and get ppl to drop gear, so it's a safety system and not a bug.
Because some people are ********, but that's not the problem.
People would greif other clans by dropping tag while still white and get killed, ganking the other clans member while he's red for his gear (possibly boss jewels)
couldn't that be solved if you flag purple for a minute if kicked from clan? I love how the designers of this game work, just because some people might use something to grief lets limit the power a clan leader has on his own clan.
I am still waiting 4 years a CL now for last time a clannie log on and where they are located in the world, every single out MMORPG in the last 4 years has those things in clan/guild status.

No it couldn't be solved that way, there should never be a way to make another player flag with no action on his part (outside of a war)
bold part: Really don't know what to say to that. That's a pretty ignorant statement.

Make a hero shout it out, have half the server help you find him, wont make you look bad, will solve your problem, and will mean less whining on forum. a win win win in my book.
We have the same problem now and then, and always the same response - immediate kick. If they are actively botting, we go PK them, then kick when combat stance wears off.

we train them, kick, rez them and if they auto accept rez we train them again and again and again and again until we get bored of killing them or they see what's going on and logs off.
Easy in EAC we sent in a petition day the kids brother came on his acct and decided to bot after we told him don't bot with our clan tag, Leader couldn't kick him but he was booted out of clan that night and NCSOFT left a note saying don't invite suspected botters into clan which was kinda intresting since we didn't know he was a botter till after he was in clan.
So when you say your not gonna be online cuz your heading out for the night don't have your brother logg in your acct and turn your bot program on if you wanna stay in a clan that hates botting and try and be sneaky and bot.
Also he obviousely wasn't banned but he's not in our clan anymore so at least NCSOFT did fix that part so 1 outta 2 ain't bad.
Hey Genius he said we use to have a problem, that was a Couple chronicles ago when Sly took a break from game because of school and left his clan in the hands of some shady folk that gave us a bad name, since then weve cleaned up hence the question about this issue.
Anyway Sly if we ever have that problem again let me know I have a freindly SH that loves to go red on bots *cough*
I find it kinda amusing you're buying the whole "my brother must have been the one botting" story... lol
Umm was that aimed at me?
The kid told me he was going to the florida keys then his brother logged in and said hi it was his brother not him but either way like i said NCSOFT removed him from our clan cuz we couldn't do it while he was botting and it's pretty sad that all the ebayers and botters are in game to begin with since this game isn't that hard.
If we can all play legit and some of us use nothing but common gear on our toons then theres obviousely no excuse why the rest of the player base can't. Those players should all go play WOW it might be alot easier for them and more to thier IQ level since Lineage 2 is way too hard for them to play.
I use all common gear on my A grader and B grader's and the 1 C grader i have, and it's funny i can still lvl and have fun playing my game without the +80 top gear guesse i'm just very unique like that and 1 of the very few that can do it.
The situation sounds tough, and I don't think there is any 100% best answer.
Like some of the others have said, do what you can to get the bot out of combat. Training, PKing, or what ever works. Then you can kick them out of the clan.
I know clan leaders can not be omnipresent and know what all of their members are doing at all times. Just do what you can.
I think Spam speaks alot of truth here.
As a leader (or part of a group of leaders) you can't always be right or always be with a clan member.
As a leader though, by letting your clan know that botting won't be accepted and to encourage other clan leaders to let u know if they find one of yours botting, to tell u, a clan leader can go a long way to clean out the mess.
We also post on our clan website that so-and-so was kicked for botting, when and where so if another clan asks us for a reference, we can say what happened.
Confirm, kill and dismiss the *******.
If you want a good rep on the server, you can't do otherwise even though all the trash talk will eventually degrade to either ebaying or botting.
But at least the clan can sleep well at night if they try their best
"Hey Jayy we caught you botting last night in VoS"
"what? No, I was sleeping, I guess my brother must have installed a trojan again like he has before, and found out my acc info so he can bot it for himself"
....
This guys just pro-active and he admits its his "brother" beforehand to look a little more innocent.
a location clan member with long reuse time should be usefull for clan lead :)
to take an example, when we caught botter (even in owo it can happen), if he was not fully a ******* (there's some too), we give him a chance, first had to report 50 bots (with shots for proof), and each time, quantity x2 ... only people who care really about become back legit can handle this job. atm we're at 400 bots to report for next we'll catch :)
