Sorry for your loss by the way... change your passwords regularly and make sure you have an active virus scanner running (turn it off when playing L2 of course...!).
If you shared the account you're likely to get banned too, if not and it was hacked (it happens if you take little security measures) you'll recover your items I think.
Common hacking issues comes from cyber cafes. Ppl sometimes is good at breaking into low-security private networks... and disabling firewalls or changing av settings to place a keylogger. If you play in a cybercafe it is more likely to be a legit ****. However, the 99% of this cases happen because of account sharing, which is against EULA.
To the OP... I suggest that if it's a legit issue you rather open a ticket directly, coz posting here will get you nowhere... no one can do anything about it. A GM would probably tell you to contact support. Good luck and hope you clear everything.
First of all, i DID NOT share any accounts information with noone.
I have already change my password and have contact support center.
The only reason i post this here was to know if anyone else had experience relative issues and got help from support center.

There's a trojan (keylogger) called PSW.OnlineGames that spreads over the internet, infects people's PCs and steals their passwords at the moment they type them in.
Even if your anti-virus program detects and deletes it at open (and you think it's gone), it keeps reoccuring after reboot (as it somehow reproduces itself in the System Volume Information folder).
So, you might need to update your antivirus and check your hard drives thoroughly.
That would be very interesting to know since you had not shared your login information with anyone. To guess someone's username and password is not easy you know, unless they know this person perhaps.
Sorry for your loss. And i believe that NC support cannot do much in this case. They will not give you the stuff back, or give you the information about the latest trades done by the toons. :p
Actually they do give stuff back for user mishaps (unintentional), just not on a regular basis, not sure what their criteria is thou, and don't quote me on it :o.
How do you two know that this person wasn't legitimately 'hacked'.

Because I have yet to meet someone that was TRULY Hacked. It's always they were stripped, or were at fault in some way, shape or form. I have been around for a very long time, and I for one can't honestly tell you that I know of someone who has actually been 'Hacked'
If they OP was Truly Hacked, Sorry to hear, although in most cases, they tend to give gear back to the accounts that had been stripped, and ban the account attached to the IP that stripped the account.

Btw if you got hacked its 90% a keylogger, So I should check my files specially files that were downloaded latly.
And for heaven's sakes, people, virus scan before you open anything you download. It takes 2 seconds to scan a file.
Most virus scanners have on-access, email, and web scanners. You don't even need to run a Virus Scan these days. You just have to make sure you install the virus scanner and don't disable it. There are good Free Virus Scanners, like avast!. A firewall should stop a Trojan from transmitting information from you computer, unless you are dumb and have it on training mode (where it blocks nothing and learns what accesses the internet to allow it in the future). It is hard to get "hacked". Everything is free now. I guess this is why the Linux geeks are still calling Windows unsecure...
If a virus tries to log/copy itself/propogate the Virus Scanner will alert you and allow you to put it in the chest/delete/clean it out. In most cases, simply selecting a file will trigger an on access scanner, never mind trying to copy/download/upload it. If a trojan tries to transmit information, the firewall will block it, and most likely, the Virus scanner will go haywire when the trojan applications loads itself into memory. Virus scanners use heuristics to scan (in most cases). Sometimes you can catch a modern virus with a non-updated virus scanner from 1996. It's 2009, get with the program (pun intended).
"Hacking" is very rare in this game, true, unless you are stupid, in which case you have no business playing the game. Go take a class at the technical college instead...
And to the person who was talking about low security networks, have you ever tried to sniff a wireless network (or even a wired network) to get L2 passwords? Trust me when I say the tools I have are of high quality (no, I am not an unethical hacker, so don't go there). If you don't know how hackers operate, you obviously don't know what to look for, and therefore shouldn't be throwing the word around so liberally.

it happens that some stuff slips thru the on-access/web access protection no AV programs catches them all

Virus scanners are like 98-99% accurate in detecting viruses. The Virus Scanner may not be able to clean the file, but it will most likely be able to quarantine it. Those 1-2% of viruses... a home/desktop system is more often than not the primary target of those...

I mean honestly... why bother post this... it only give all us +1 to our post count.
I think this is a good reminder to all to always keep account information private, and to also be aware and suspicious of any software installed on your computer that you are not fully aware of its functionality.
