Just wanna let you know about some story that hapenned to me 2 days ago. I am localhost - Arhmage hero on server Teon and i was sure i will play this game till the end...
I play la2 since c4 and have collected some good stuff (OEd gear and boss jewels). Many people (friends, clannies) always ask me to give something for olympiads. And if i trust people - i always give. And i'm sure that i'll get it back at then end. And it was till Thursday evening.
I gave almost all gear i had to my friend - he's Elemental Master and was going to farm open olympiad (i even asked for FR necklace in clan because i had only Valakas). And i was keeping in mind that i'll get it back. We were sitting near each other: i was telling him his opponent and some tips, he was fighting. But after he finished his last fight - BAH: disconnect. And he couldn't log in anymore. They told they banned him for botting. LOL and GF.
When i give ppl my stuff - i know that they will return it to me after end of oly and nothing bad couldn't happen. And i was never thinking about someone could get banned during olympiad.
As the result, my friend lost everything. I lost almost everything, except my naked character with Dynasty set on it (i have to sell it to return FR necklace to clanie).
As the result, i quit la2 because i lost all stuff and almost all friends (they got banned too) and i don't want to play the game called "survive or get banned".
As the result, many friends don't want to log in because they scared to be banned (they ban people, that are on trade 24/7, they ban people, that are in party with 3rd party program users, they ban for screens etc. etc.).
As the result, Teon - Normal.
The point of this topic... Just take care and keep in mind - in 1 second you can loose everything. And they won't help you. Even if you are legit - take care. They can ban by mistake and they DO bans by mistake. But they don't care, they will just close your Ticket.
lol yep been here since first week of c1 and never been banned (i dont cheat) thats why. You say all your friends got banned to? oh well cya they should be banned and as far as your gear goes im sure you got it with the help of alot of cheaters so goodbye gear oh well. Bottom line is you play with fire you will die by fire and i could care less so whine somewhere else please.
You & all your friends can still play this game. Just consider it a fresh start from the beginning :)

You are a more trusting person than I could ever be. Your friends are lucky to have you as a friend. Hard to believe that they broke EULA even when they have someone like you to help them move to endgame in a legit manner.
I can't say I feel your pain, mainly because I have never even seen most of the stuff on that list let alone possessed it. Getting caught up in someone else's dirty activities when not engaging in them yourself stinks.
I mean, how could you have possibly known that your friend was breaking the EULA?
Sorry to say it, but if they botted they deserved it. NCsoft is aggressively going after botters now. Sad that he had your gear when he was banned, but when you play with cheaters and share items/accounts with them bad things happen. Just ask Nova who used to be on Bartz about that. Just consider yourself lucky you didn't let him log in your acount as yours would of been banned for his IP address being logged onto your account.
Cheaters? If you can't make this stuff in 3 years without cheats - poor you...
i have no doubt YOU are legit. but your story casts doubt on your companions.
given the history of sharing equipment freely and stories and rumors of adena duplication ... one can only put you in the middle of all this.
there is hope, however. if you did loose everything by trading it to someone who gets banned the next day you'll have learned the lesson given in the tooltips: never trade items to people that you wouldnt be willing to loose forever.
Local no offense but you're the reason why i keep hero chat off. The real thing is that bot is not the only problem in l2. I can find at least 10 movies on blah from both sides(X or ITT) where you can identify 3rd soft. Every time some1 uses hide it leaves traces on server logs... I think GM's actually done some tracking and banned at the moment when cheaters had best gears etc. Too bad if you were legit and lost that but I don't have any bad feeling for cheaters that got banned. At the end i would like to say that it's your own responsibility giving items for cheaters.
UH local sorry to say most of that stuff you had was not gotten alone you had help of others. And more than likely there were cheaters in that group so the loss is ok. As far as i can get that the legit way? uh no soory not without the help of cheaters more than likely so i will pass. cry all ya want im happy the gms are rolling through and banning. My suggestion is get away from the cheaters (you know just who they are) and wait until the fog clears rofl

You understand that when you come here to the forums you open your story up to criticism? I then have to defend why things were done by CS in public. This never ends well for anybody.
Why was your friend banned? He was fading in and out during PvP. We have vids. But the vids alone were not good enough for us. So we matched up our logs with the time of the vid. Yup, sure enough there he is coming and going.
The point is… the GM team does not randomly ban accounts. A lot of work has to be done to ban an account and if the proof is not there, we don’t do it. If just so happens recently we have become a little faster at our job. So, people that thought they would never get caught are now screaming.
I understand you are a trusting person and can’t believe your friends would cheat. I suggest you sit down and take a deep breath and really think back to all of your friends that got banned. Can you say for sure they were ALL 100% legit.
