As one that has put L2 off for ~2 years and having been back for ~1 month, lurking in the shadows of the forum, I'll raise a glass to HGMspam and his crew of GM's...

Btw Spam, if you have pretty detailed logs, why dont you use some advanced datamining application to just do teh uber mass bans?

Because automating stuff like that.. is prone to make mistakes.
I play on Luna and this week, for two times, I started a petition to report bad users and in both cases, in less than five min I got a response from GM's. That's enough to make me still have faith they're there doing their best!

I just hope no live (non-botted) players were caught in the middle of this... l2 is an important part of many people's lives and being banned for no reason can be devastating

Wooow now i am impressed. On the weekend Teon have the yellow "normal" status and for a long time i didnt see the heavy red status!!! =O Teon was well known to be the only heavy mode server...now its gone...all those bots who made this server so laggy and unfair ;)
Well i must be missing something cause i don't see a difference on Phoenix. I read some QQ thread on Blah but the guy was comical...i doubt anything of his got banned.
The Adena sellers are spaming chat even more than normal...they are now speaking perfect english (always knew they were from NA) and Adena prices are lower than ever (cause they are over stocked) and you don't get over stocked by getting banned...lol.

PLayers are cashing out.. and they sell everything to those sites.. which causes them to get over stocked with Adena and items!

If they get banned how can they sell Adena to the sites. I know i know they are selling out just incase they get banned.
There will always be a market for Adena....pwnzors with daddy's CC..... so if nobody Bots...cause they are banned then the Adena price goes up.
And believe me on Phoenix nobody is getting banned. I play "Bot bong" ...report...nothing.
And i was on Devi for a bit and i saw plenty of Bots in all the usual places...so maybe you are playing in areas where it isn't worth while to bot. Garden of Beast is perfect. Erbs, 1xHP, nothing aggro or social. Welcome to a Bots Paradise!

my buddy just gave me the report that my favorite BH from ketra was sited stabbing baium wearing S80 the other day. musta bot buttoned that guy at least a hundred times so far :/

And yes.. most are cashing out the overweight from the banned toons.

These guys are professionals They are on every server; they have hundreds of toons if not accounts. They sell shots in every town (yes especially on Devianne you know who some of them are. They sell items. They manor with scripts. They seed with bots. They buy seeds with scripts...ever try to buy the good seeds...just lol man. They craft with botted key mats and botted recipes. This is a big business for some. This is how they make their living and yes i think the biggest are from good old NA.They aren't gonna run scared cause a few people are saying they got banned.
For all you know the botters are saying they got banned so that the legits stop making a fuss. I have reported for years and i mean years and never ever was anyone banned NEVER NEVER NEVER
They left the area but if you PMed them they were still on.
Now maybe a few high profile botters got banned for show. The guys that are making a business out of this are low key and they are the ones that screw the system up not some random high profile bot boy.
Edit: You weren't playing when Dragon was the big farm outfit on Devianne. They were removed by a large orchestration of petitions guess who organized the petitions and who took over Dragon's spot? Then again maybe you were playing then ;) My memory is good but its short :p
I just heard that Lao (my personal favorite bot to hate) was banned on Phoenix. One down anyway :D All those mobs he stole from me in HS... what a waste.

Probably cried and whined that they didn't do anything wrong and maybe NCSoft got scared/unsure and unbanned them. GMs might be very lenient with them, since afterall there's a risc to ban innocent players and other factors involved (business/policies stuff).
I think it's not that difficult to determine beyond reasonable (yes, reasonable) doubt that some player is botting.
Meh, glad I gave up on this issue a long time ago, if I can't exp in the area I want to exp due to bots I report them then log out. No point in stressing myself out over crap like that.
This will of course only lead to more and more alienation until I cancel my main account too; they won't care anyway.
Ya, that's really disappointing that they would let him come back. After all the excitement about GMs banning people at a decent rate now, hearing that they can come right back is a real let down. :( I can guaruntee that Lao is a bot, I'm sure they would take my word for it? :p And I actually know a legit guy who was banned a few years ago, although he might have been banned for harassing botters, not actually for botting.
