Scammer on Sayha

Twice now our clan has been scammed. On Feb. 6th at 10 p.m. central I was scammed
by Sancly pretending to be Sandy and lost armor/jewelry. Tonight it happened again to
a different clannie but they did not fall for it. I was stupid I admit it. NCsoft has responsibility
to prevent this from happening. If this happens at Disneyland they would investigate.
Watch out for scammers on Sayha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, NC has no responsibility to prevent this from happening. Thats up to you.

But they do have a responsibility to make sure that this scammer is punished. Write a ticket to support and open a petition ingame. They have msgs in the petition window about scammers saying impersonation etc etc is illegal, and punishable. Best you can do is get this person banned so they can't do this lowlife crap again. I really don't see your items ever coming back to you, but good luck with that anyway.

Seriously, write support.

I submitted a
ticket.
they do actually have tips on the loading screen if u ever noticed... and there is one that says always confirm names and clans before trades. This is why why added clan name to trade boxes.... U wouldnt hand over money irl to some total stranger with a name similar to a friend would u? always double check EVERYTHING before doing trades.
Yeah, unfortunately ncsoft feels that if u get scammed its on you. People have been attempting to scam me forever now, and they usually use the same sorts of ploys. "i wanna see my toons p attack with ur weapon" or "i dropped my earring" or "i wanna see my stats with your gear" immediately folllowed by "please trade it to hoflade this is me" and its usually a female dwarf. All i can say is keep ur eyes open from now on, learn the warning signs if u dont know. Good luck.

it's fun when you manage to scam the scammers while they try to scam you :p
If you could teach me to scam the scammers, i'd be a rich woman.
i think its more a case of why should NCSoft care if u cant pay attention...
It's the eldest scam trick in the book that has been placed to attention more then once. Indeed in this type of cases it's realy your vigilence as a player rather then NC's responsibility.

My clan has been targetted many times by this type of scammers but we haven't been scammed out of anything because people paid attention. There are ways to secure trades between clanies if you are in doubt.
Don't trade with anyone who is not in your clan or that you don't know is the first point but here is an easy salution....

If someone from clan wants to trade with armour and gear do it through clan chat because a pm can be tricky if it is just one letter off...

Correct :) and also now that yu can Click an item to show it avoids alot of scamming right of the bat there. Having a trade password is another way of identifying someone's identity f.e.

or use ventrilo to ask the clan member directly ;)

Another very good and reliable way indeed :)

Unless it's really your clan member scamming you out of your gear :-D

Yes nc doesnt have any responsibility to give your items back or something. They can only punish the scammers if evidence is provided and enough for they get a punishment.
Sorry for your lost...
