I have to say using K, KK and KKK make more sense to me but it could just as easily be chalked up to habit as opposed to some sort of practical reason.

It only makes sense if you've seen it used in that way before. mil, M, bil, B are easy enough to figure out. KKK to most people means people dressed in white robes with pointy hats hating jews

kkk meaning billion is not widely used, not outside of gaming, and even within gaming it's pretty much exclusively used in mmo games.

europeans however, really never saw this kind of cultural phenomenon in common speech. Nai never really became a household word associated with anything but evil. KKK by the same token means Klansmen to any american, and cannot be associated with anything but.

the KKK did at one time have a lot of political power in america during and even after the civil rights movement. it wasnt until Gay rights movements that the KKK's political figures died off. for DECADES (not a mere 4 year war) black folk accross the country had crosses burned on their property, and often much more than that. sometimes it came down to shootings and riots.
you forget that K and KK is a european term, started by europeans that was used a long time before MMO's ever became MMO's. points if you can put the coin where it belongs. hint: use a math wiki, go back to Greek philosopher era mathematics.

QQ is one of those things that came over from some other MMO, probably WoW, because when Lineage II launched, no one ever used it. It's like a different game, the way people type now, than it was 4 years ago.

the first time I ever heard someone offer me 2kk for something, I thought the guy was ******ed, offering "2" and saying ok... Ever since then its never made any sense why someone has to say kk or kkk instead of m/b. Its definately an eu thing, and I think its pretty mindless
Then again, I fought so hard against wts/wtb when i first came to lin, alot of lin1 players did cuz people brought that junk over from mmos like eq. I didn't get wat was so much harder about typing "buy" or "sell". And also I didn't get wat was so hard to comprehend about someone saying "buy" or "sell", about 75% of the time I had someone asking if I was buying something when I wanted to sell it, and offering to buy something from me when I wanted to buy it too.. Not a hard concept to grasp that when I say "buy +5 dark screamer" means i wanna buy a dark screamer is it..?

Back about KKK thing. It's not widely used in commmon day language because we don't have need to count bilions. Such numbers we meet only in MMO games so it's more likely specific MMO terms.
Also I don't see why ppl are frustrated about this, you can use mil/M as you want it's your own choice. It reminds me case where ppl complains why europeans use metric system...

It's not widely used correct, but not for this reason. It's not used because there is no such term as KKK or KK. If you go to a bank and ask the teller for 1K, he'll give you $1000. If you ask for 1KK he'll look at you like your a moron. If you ask for 1KKK he'll just call you a moron.

Either that or nerds who donno any english past wtb/wts. I've succumbed to the practice now, theres no point in trying to rebel against l2 while im playing the game myself.. but god I cant tell you how good it feels to get off this game and now have to use redundant acronyms for everything
why would a pp get damage reflect from dagger? so it ok for them to get shield of revenge aka HK lv 79 effin skill? i bet few days latter people will come and QQ for other mystic class because PP get it? that skill does not fit for prophet at all. sorry doesn't logically worth for me.
many tanks (pure tanks) go for +con and boosts HP and HP regen by alot. you also have the greatest pdef (even without the shield) thanks to majesty (DA and Paladin)
I donno, all I know is that as long as I've been gaming, it hasn't been hard for anyone to understand the difference between buy and sell
