Looking for SR Hunting Spots and General Tips

Elf Classes Started Last reply 14 posts
Hi Guys,

I have subbed SR and I'm currently looking for input on hunting spots and just general tips...
I am 55 now and I have a bow and a dagger...

What hunting spots are there, what mobs are generally recommended, would you use dagger still or switch to bow by now?

Any general tips you can give on playing SR?

Thanks
Forsaken plains (the port people take for gc (not the silent valley one))run straight from the port down into the pit find the area with the shaman's that always transform and kill the 3 or 4 mobs that constantly respawn in that area. You'll be 63/64 in no time. The shaman xp is your best value at those levels.

For variety try also:

Lower level of Devastated castle
Seal of Shilien (no pots and stunners)

64-66 Beginning areas of forest of the dead. Start the 5 part quests out with the mysterious necromancer.

At maybe 66ish try the rock in fotd you might need to duo with a nuker or another archer in fact it will be much safer for you. At night the mobs will rip your little LE **** to shreds so be careful and keep an eye on where the life drains are coming from. :-). Duo this place with a pp for maximize pve fun. PP will give you resist bleed/poison, unholy resist, holy weapon, zerk and greater might and can do occasional heals when needed.

Directions to "The Rock": Your level 66 - 77 area.

From port in: go toward the house with the bookcase in it.
Make a left (instead of going toward the house where the quest mob takes yiou)

Take your first right

Take the a right again and keep following the road it will bring you all the way to the rock. The requiem behemoth community mob is your worst fear. Kill the priests and grinders first before you do the male vampire types. Just keep kiting the behemoths til you can take it like a LE.

Make sure you levelled up your cure bleed and poison they are quick casts now and effective in fotd. And cast them immediately upon seeing the bleed or poison on you.

if you cannot handle the rock try the big long flat area just to the side of it. it is also good but requires more running around.
Most SR's also go glass cannon approach:

For tats:
----------------------------------
+4 dex -4 con
+4 str -4 con

For weapon of choice:
----------------------------------
soulbow with quick recovery.

Special attacks
----------------------------------
They are for pvp not for pve except on occasion. not worth running out of mp though with pot drops this is a moot point anymore. stun shot/double shot definitely learn. do not bother with charm, elemental heal or burst shot.

Rapid fire/rapid shot/blessing of sagi
----------------------------------
All good to use. In fact all the SR self-buffs are good. I don't use most since i have a travelling clan hall pp with me.

Once you acquire a drac bow with focus, you will crit crit crit crit crit crit crit crit wtf >.< crit crit crit crit. I can depopulate an area too quickly now.

Armor:
-----------------------------------
C/B
Plated leather if you don't mind the dmg from 40-62
If you are taking too much damage and have access to doom light or any set with more protection go ahead and wear it. Zubei would give nice plus to evasion. I would just do npc store bought...you won't be in it long

A-grade armor:
majestic for stun resist and 12% bow dmg is not as good as dc light with +4% attack speed in my opinion. Still probably best to wear the majestic.

S - drac if you can afford it.
Thanks alot for all this info :)
I think I can count on one hand the number of SRs on Sayha. :( Even I would tell you go HE if you said you just started your sub. :-(

At least we got self windwalk for what its worth. :-)
I don't like HE at all...
Reason I say HE is their carrying capacity becomes pretty **** sick. I still like my moonlight sentinel though. HE was the flavor of the month since the beginning on time it seems though.
I don't like HE at all...

yet you duo alot with one :P
I have been soloing with my SR ever since i can remember. Only have 1 account and most ppl dont like to party with SR's or with anyone for that matter (Bartz Server). Up untill leveling in Forsaken Plains, killing shamans I totally agree with you guys BUT after your SR reaches 65 leveling becomes really hard, at least for me it is. I have already got my tats in place ( +4 Str -4 Con & +3 Dex -3 Con) and I have +4333 Majestic Lite Armour with a +4 Soul Bow no SA(freekin expensive).
Leveling Areas

Forest Of the Dead
With self buffs and current equips if by chance I am attacked by 2 of any of the mobs present there I die. Kiting is difficult as it attracts a lot of aggro mobs and takes a long time. EXP at VIT 300% gives me some 32k + change. Although it is possible to lvl here slowly at night when the mobs increase the chances my me dieing increase.

Valley of Saints
Another very good leveling area if only us SR's had more Maj. Def. (currently using Phoenix Common Set). The mobs there - Flash of Splendor & Wizdom of Splendor etc. do enough damage and many a times crit. Although the exp is a little better you will still average to around the same as FotD with a higher chance of dieing. Kiting is a no go here since most if not all mobs here use spells.

Blazing Swamp
By far the best lvling area i have been to for an SR. Most mobs here are passive and the exp is pretty much the same. The DPS is higher in this zone since some mobs have archery as a weekness and also have weak p.def. Drops include common DC sets and common BOP. kiting seems easier coz of the non aggro mobs.

I am lvl 65 and have been 65 for about a month now coz of my Squishy SR. SR's are the most capable kiting toon in the game and can be very powerfull with the rite skill.

Also I am considering getting +4 Int -4Wit tats to increase my casting speed for stun shot and double shot etc. Has anyone ever done this and if so does it work to our advantage in PVP.

I shall try out the other locations and give a feedback. Thanks to all for all the info.
Past 65 there has to be someone who made a wc, or a pp or se and would love to duo in fotd or elsewhere, even an ee. It's much faster with a friend to level at that point. I remember doing EV self-buffs only trying to kite satyrs. >.< Not fun!

SR kite speed follows this logic:

monster runspeed = sr_kite_speed + 20. You can run elf boy but you can't hide!

Only exceptions are slower moving mobs like golems or arrow resist mobs like trees and such.

FOTD does require support in most places. But there are a few little nooks where you can get by solo I suspect. The rock is definitely not one of them.

VoS: yes was nice...required a real active healer. MAGIC CRITS for the <%$%%&^*#!> LOSE! >.< Even when those mobs are dark blue they continue to blow. But I guess people can and do say the same about FOTD. Got a PP or someone who can holy weapon you, go to fotd.

Both VoS and FOTD have similar collect x amount of an item and hand it in quests as well.

Blazing Swamp: I skipped it entirely. I found the devastated castle mobs to be more my liking. This was before pot drops, but even now the DC top level mobs do not drop pots. Just middle and lower levels.

Mobs outside of Goddard are no longer arrow resist, I still would not do them though. too many bots.

Either find a buffer and /friend em for life, or hook up with another archer or nuker to cover your backside.
The mobs outside Goddard
Just today i tried them mobs and i can safely say that it is the best leveling spot for SR's

Y is it the best lvling spot for SR's
Mobs drop herbs
Mobs have low P.Def
Mobs are not Aggro but mind u they are Social
Spawn time is decent (about 30 sec)
XP is the same as FotD or VOS only faster
Best thing is u can Bow and dagger to increase efficiency or only dagger when u have a VR herb and damage is about 200 per hit with a common Top A grade

Thanks to Jin i am not abandoning my SR and will make it to S grade with a smile on my face.
Get a buffer and a 2nd Archer or SwS/BD and you can rock HS from 70 on. You'll make 70-77 in no time there.
Hey guys, I was just reading this forum and since i play with a SR i stopped here and read all this stuff about it. I chose SR because that is my favorite character in the l2 game to play with. But the more i play and more i read about him in official server it seems that i will have a hard time raising him to s grade lvl and on. I personally play in Teon server and I am 40lvl. I wanted to ask what exping strategies would u use from lvl 40 because i already read all of the higher lvl suggestions that u posted here. Should i still go with a dager till b grade or what? I am also concerned about mp. Will i have to sit down constantly to recharge my mp when exping alone and in party? Is there any ways around that? I also heard that SR will reach his prime time when hes a,s gr meaning he will become very strong pvp char is that true?
Thanks!
P.S. I am looking for a clan that has many 40-55 lvl players so i could go exp with them and party and kill raid bosses and all that other fun stuff, so if there are still any of these plz pm me in game or here.
40-55 get a dagger and noob buffs and gogo cata imo.. just remember to get a few hp pots and in case of doubt, click UE and run to exit...
