OMG! Dion is a ghost town!

General Discussion Started Last reply 90 posts
Didn't go to Dion for couple of months. Went this evening only to see Dion turned in ghost town. Couple of months ago it was a small trading outpost and lot of low level chars were running around, and the area next to Dion was filled with 20+ lvl chars killing mobs.
Now there are only 6-7 traders and about 10 toons at all.
Now I know some fanboys will flame me but I don't really care.
The truth is this game is dying it is quite obvous to everyone who goes to Dion.

What's the purpose of this thread? To show everyone that you're emo?
What's the purpose of this thread? To show everyone that you're emo?

The purpose of this thread is to give the jerks who to flame. As it is already seen.
On teon dion is still used by many players. Well i remember times like c5, dion was really full!! also gludin and gludio full of players and shops! You may call now gludio and gludin ghost towns, but no dion.

Omg, 79lv Cardinal QQ in forum becouse Dion in his oppinion is 'too empty' and judging by that single fact l2 is dying! And who are you calling jerks? Who makes you think that you can inslut other ppl? Btw, emo is not inslut. It's diagnosis. ^ ^

I agree, Dion is perfectly healthy on Teon. And Gludio is not very populated, but there are still a few people here and there, passing by or selling a few shots (not counting the grleknkqje's deleveling).
With Vitality, age of the game and content targetting higher levels, it's logical for Dion to be less populated than in C2. But ghost? Not on my server.

May I ask a simple question? When exactly you were on dion for the last time? What? XXX months ago? And it was perfectly healty? Why don't you look at it NOW?
As for the jerks who came here to flame here is the message I just got:

Stop trashing forum with such meaningless threads as 'Dion ghost town' ect and making fool of you, emo boy.

And since when you dear Keita was appointed as a censor to deside which threads are meaningful and which are not?
Today I was in dion at Teon and it's pretty much healthy. Ofc it's not like it used to be but it's still not dead.

This is forum and everyone here is free to speak their mind. I think your thread is just another QQ thread about 'omg, l2 is dying!' and since i'm feeling generous today, i'm kindly explaining it to you. But you don't want to see it. You call me jerk and then QQ more!
what are you hoping to see in dion??

Noobs dont spend enough time at 20-40 anymore to hang around dion, they move up quickly and move on from dion.. This is a pretty rediculous way to gauge the activity status of your server, its like saying theres not a single person around de village so that must mean the game is dying. No, they are just levelling faster and they aren't there long enough for you to notice them
Just 2 months ago - long after Gracia was introduced there were lot of sellers in Dion. At least 30-40 if not more. Third of them were scammers, third were selling OE D and C weapons and the others were selling shots, mat recipes, wolves and such. And those sellers stayed there overnight so it is not because of the relatively late time. Now even the scammers are not there - which means there is simply no one left to scam.
It doesn't matter how much time the players are stayng in Dion. If there are new players they sell and buy; no sellers = no new players.
Now Dion is a sad view. It is like going to a ski resort in july. Only the garbage is left and couple of old half-blind guards.
Or these people have finally realised that there isnt enough money in scamming people in dion and moved on to scam in giran? Either that or stop wasting their extra account and wanted to bot with that too, you can't gauge something like server population by looking at a noob town. Its related to the server community, but it is not directly proportionate. Dion and the rest of the server are like brothers, just because one of them has some characteristics (low population) doesn't mean that the other shares that characteristic, even though they are the same flesh and blood, and share everything. You can't extrapolate the conclusion that the game is dying just on 1 simple overview
I think the point that people blow thru the early levels now is one of the big problems.

The towns need to be reblanced, not based on levels, but ports and needs. All major towns should have a solid mix of low, med, high, mile high ports to make them all viable. Now, once you are in the mid 70's, what need is there to go to anything but the big three? Not much except when one sub classes.

Giran is a lot quieter than it was back at Xmas. I hope w/ the newest expansion, and summer coming, that players will be returning and new ones found.

Have you hear about Anger management class by any chance?

The guy simple asked a question and you had a smart-.- response calling him emo.
Why you cannot tell him that probably is because last updates such as free port to towns for level 40 and under toons is free and n00bie buffs 'til 61 are making low level players to move fast to higher levels and for instance go to different towns?
Also, you can get top D and top C in the stores. I think that killed ppl that used to be in Dion selling C and D grade weapons and armors. I am sure ppl you see in Dion are dwarves selling shots... that is it. The rest you can find in the stores.

SIGH,...there is always one back sheep hugh....
Only used towns now are giran and aden. Since the bot bans and other bans, even those got much more empty..yes even on teon ;)

The game isnt more for low lvl chars. NCSoft wants to boost us a bit up since they only release high end content 75+ since interlude they are only focusing on high lvl content and the rest is forgotten. And for we reach that new stuff they made..they boost us with vit lvls and kamalokas which helps a lot too for lvling. Palaika quests which give great xp and vit. NCSoft wants us to be high level and forget about the low lvl content..the towns..and fun we had there long time ago. They want us to play their new made high end lvl content..sure,why not? its the only new thing they introduced. If they wouldnt boost us, many of us would still sitting in dion, gludin ect trying to survive and get some lvls in a week. If not, who would play that high end lvl content? 10 players? 1 clan maybe? With this boost of many things they gave us, more players are able to get high lvl and experience a new lineage II.

Now we can really say, the game really begins after 76+ not because of the pvp...now its because of the great high lvl content their introduced with tons of stuff to do. The rest..the lvling until there..is now only secondary important for them. Grind your way thrue it xD

It may be true. But nevertheless it is a very sad view a single lone dwarf at the whole street selling wolves. As someone wrote it shouldn't be so.

So I did a little digging at the financial statements of NVSoft. They are public company although not good enough to get listed at the big exchanges. So their last statement is 36% less profit for 2008 in comparison with 2007. Also they give this data for Korea only - for december 2008 they have a drop from about 30% for lineage 2 server accounts in comparison with december 2007. Of course in Europe or USA it may be the opposite but I doubt.
Actually they bet for most of their future income on Ayon which is already launched in Korea and if they fulfill their financial guidance will be launched 3Q in Taiwan and Japan and 4Q in USA and Europe.

Aion will come Q4 2009. And i tell you, if those bots will be in the live servers like they are now in Aion, this game will be an epic fail like tabularasa ;)
Also the game is more "euro" like. Like WoW. Doing quest to lvl up and getting items. Also leveling is much more easy than here at L2.
Every game has its looses..even wow has it. Many friends i know tell me a lot what is going on there..and its worst than here that i can tell you.

Well I won't begin the same story again why newbie towns are becomming empty because you are blind to facts.

But I'll tell you smth about NCsoft economical situation. First of all to find information is easy to understand it is hard. As I can see you well done the first part however totally missed 2nd. Profit is not the only factor that indicates companies financial situation. If you would look closer NCsoft actually increased their sales compared to Q4 07. However total revenue was lower by 22% compared to Q4 07 but WHOLE 08 revenue was 5% higher than 07.
Secondly your mistake is that you reffering NCsoft profit/loss directly to l2 but sunny! NCsoft runs more than one game so your statement is wrong again.

And every1 who has a litle brains in their head understands that droop of l2 players in korea is mostly due to AION's launch.

The truth is this game is dying it is quite obvous to everyone who goes to Dion.

I noticed that back when there was a Kain. The first noticable signs of the server dying was the lack of players in Dion. The next one was 0 players in gludin, meaning no new charecters or players to the game.
It could be that.
Or it could be what Jayy was saying. People have moved on to other towns for one reason or another and noone is really doing business in dion like they used to. ive seen that from time to time on Bartz. sometimes it just depends when you go there.

one things for sure. its nothing like the population it used to be , like in c2- c3 days

If what Jayy said could be true if it happened 1-2 months after the changes in Grazia; but it was 2 months ago when there were still lots of ppl in Dion.
Went to Gludin to check - luckily there were couple of players there:) Still read my previous post - 30% less players for december 2008 in comparison with december 2007. And this is official data from NCSoft.

BTW - do Bartz still lives?
And every1 who has a litle brains in their head understands that droop of l2 players in korea is mostly due to AION's launch.

Everyone with little brain in his head will understand the above is not true. For the whole Q4 of the there are only 8,000 Aion games sold. Much less then the drop of the Lineage 2 players. But it is convinient to see only what you want to see.

And everyone who has a little brain in his head will understand that I wrote exactly this - NCSoft is dumping Lineage2 (if some people stay and pay - it is good, if not - we will live without them) and is putting all his eggs in the Aion basket.
Where you got that only 8 000 were sold? Because in Korea AION was a hit with almost 200 thousand players in first few days..
I think what you said (falsely) in another thread applies here:

so you simply have nothing to do there.
The leveling from 1 to 40 is just so **** fast that all cities below Giran are indeed more empty. Maybe should try to add some high level zones near newbie towns to spread some of the activity ^^
There is several reason that the shops in Dion has decreased.

Vitality ..... makes most people rush through 1-40 and then move on to other spots

but the biggest reason is top-d weapon, d-armor-set-items and all c-grades are sold in NPC shop

and the cubics .. making EAD, EWD totally useless to get through blank scroll and sell

so all those that made adena by buying/selling the above items had to make new business and move to other towns (1 was one of them)
If what Jayy said could be true if it happened 1-2 months after the changes in Grazia; but it was 2 months ago when there were still lots of ppl in Dion.
It takes time for the community to adapt to common weapons, NPC-sold C-grade and free teleports.
Thing wotn change to any better anymore. I expect al leat 1 more merge on the NA servers so that 2 or 3 NA servers will stay. Players will leave for other games, maybe for Aion, but the money stays in the house since that is a game from ncsoft.
I also see daily new players joining, thats great and good for our comunity. I hope that those are real players which will stay and not play a bit and leave.

I didn't got it; this is from the financial statement of NCSoft for Q4 for 2008. I guess the game was launched at the very end of Q4. And for december 2008 the mumber of Lineage 2 players are decreased by about 30,000 in comparison with previous december 2007. I compare only december 2008. It is normal to have 200,000 new players for Aion just a couple of days later - it is early to give data for this. The point of comparison was for the last known month loss of 30,000 L2 players vs gain of 8000 Aion players.
Total they show about 100,000 players for 32 servers in Korea. Providing most of those 100,000 players are bots this means there will be mass server closing in Korea.
But what is interesting too is they plan to get from Aion for 2009 and 2010 about the same profit as from all the other games together Lineage 2 incl. Which means all their efforts and all thier attention is directed to Aion and everything else is left on his own fate with min efforts invested.

I dont think so. LineageII is a big name for NCSoft and represents a big part of them. Aion will be for sure, a epic fail. Its full of bots already. Its not a grinding game like L2. Its like WoW style. Easy to play, quests for level up and much faster and easier to lvl. That game for me isnt that great.
May I ask why you started thread ''OMG! Dion is a ghost town!'' instead of going directly ''NCsoft is killing l2!''? Why all this show was needed?

Back to numbers again you shown us that you don't understand at what are you looking..

And at the end I would like to say that looking at report you can see that l2 is a big part of NCsoft's business it doesn't matter that they put a lot of effort to AION l2 still gives some nice profit, so your statment ''NCsoft is killing l2'' is totally wrong from business perspective.

Will see. It is new game and many ppl will make a look at it from curiosity at least.
omg... still with this?? ^^

NCSoft is not killing L2... why whould they do that? they are banning botters that's all... less botters=less players in game... most of them were shot crafters or dwaves sellers in the same account of botters that got pwned... that's the shorter explanation and probably the right one. So I see that it's a good thing that you don't see the "WTS +16 SOL" in every single shop in Dion ^^ don't you???
Omg no wayyyyyyyy!
May I ask a simple question? When exactly you were on dion for the last time? What? XXX months ago? And it was perfectly healty? Why don't you look at it NOW?

I regularily play my alts, so I was in Dion yesterday. The front of the church is still filled with player shops, there are a few shops in the rest of the streets, there are a dozen of players teleporting, going to NPC shops, taking newbie buffs, going to warehouse, leaving the town to go xp...
You must be playing in the wrong timezone.

Also, Dion isn't the indicator of L2 health, least NCsoft's.
Dion is nice and healthy on my server.

To the OP: so you observed Dion once, at one point in time, and think that is sufficient to draw a conclusion? How do you know that 3 minutes prior to your porting in someone didn't yell...

"500k free adena to the first five people who find me in cruma swamp!"

or "AFK red by castle, help me kill him for drops"

or simply "Raids forming, looking for levels 25 - 35, come on everyone, three groups forming!"

I get the impression that the OP had an opinion and was looking for an excuse to share it. Let me clarify...the OP had an UNINFORMED opinion and wanted to share it.

Maybe at one point.
City of Heroes and Villians is and was a big name for them. Its been years since L2
was there flagship. you can tell by the way the chronicles have lost there "Lineage"
to the original story line. The project in all fairness i think was over in c3, but tehy had such a siccess with the game, they kept adding on to it.
Also, look at how they always are trying to not have Lineage 2 around.
Oh forget L2 wait till Tabula Rasa comes out, oh wait till Aion comes out....
whichever.

At one point L2 was the game to have. And at one point it was Ncsofts flagship,
it is my opinion that that no longer is the case. Ncsoft is working on other projects now,
and they are letting us down easy.

12 chronicles , 4 dragons
we are on 8 chronicles 3 dragons (fafurion coming up).
i think thats what we are getting.

Oh and Bartz still lives

First I have to agree to the question, what is the purpose of this thread?
Secondly You think Dion was gonna look like it when you were low lvl? it takes 1 week for a beginner to get from 1 - 40 now.

i ask again what is the purpuse?
Maybe at one point.

lin1 has been around 10 years now, and its still going strong with regular updates in korea. You can't say that they are trying to let lineage die, they are still continuing to produce chronicles, and as far as I know, they are still on track as far as the storyline goes.

I haven't followed l2 updates enough, did they say theres supposed to be 12 chronicles? Cuz that info you have sounds like its from lin1, the first 12 episodes of the game introduced the 4 dragons antharas fafurion valakas and lindvior. You sure you don't have it mixed up a bit? I don't think fafurion is going to be in lin2, hes too young to be in the storyline I think

I just wanted to say that this game has been dying since April 28th 2004. You are not the first person to post this in the last 5 years and will not be the last during the next 5 years. The good news is you were all right. The one problem that you and the rest of the Oracles have is that you can't quite pin point WHEN it will actually die.

Continue to do what you do - and game will die very fast.
For me it's dead already and you know why.
cuz ur an idiot and lent your gear to someone who you knew botted just because you didn't think they could be banned while in oly?

Way to derail a thread.
Just to let you know since you all might have forgotten this but back when Heine was put into the game it stayed a ghost town till the high end content like Hellbound and the Kamaloka and that picked it up a very little bit and i'm talking about Hindemeth and now Phoenix plus Schuttgart when it was introduced was kinda a ghost town and still is kinda in that area and they still haven't fixed that horrible lagg there.

So my point is like some others and Zhanig says it best they need to overhaul the game and update the low lvl areas and bring them up to date with the rest of the game. Alot of the MMORPG'S I've noticed have tutorial areas and we all have seen that NCSOFT just killed thiers with how fast we lvl to 20 now by doing the new player quests.

Best way to fix that , and this is just my thoughts on it, is to put 1-20 at Fantasy Isle and still let all of us high lvl players go there to recruit and meet the new players but not allow any PVP there. Once the players are at least 18 then they go to thier races village where they do the quests for 1st class change and now the newbie villages are 20-40 areas and other places in the game get boosted up also plus no more NG drops in cata/necro's or Kamaloka's unless a NG toon can get in to grind.

Just an idea i've had in my head on an update this game needs since the Developers killed the starter towns that's alot of wasted space in the game that cry's "Where have all the players gone? We need players to control the Keltir population , to keep the stores running so the shop keepers can feed thier familys so update us please." But also no new players to the game with no advertising means those shop keepers familys are gonna starve or get eaten by the massive Keltir population and that's not good.

No.
No.

You have been pretty emo ever since then.
Take it to pm's guys cuz i'm pretty sure noone cares whose the most emo.

AMEN!
Lineage will never die. As you see lineage 1 is still around and has even more players than some of ou NA servers. The game is to popular for deying. If L2 would die. WoW would die first there i am sure! And they dont only plan 4 dragons..and it doesnt mean if all 4 are in l2 that they wont make more updates. This talkin is all redicilous. Lineage is very popular, the flag for NCSoft and Aion will be on of them too if it works out which nobody knows.
I just hope NC will balance way to 76+ by adding some dungeons and easy a grade gearing through those dungeons. Because even a grade is nothing now and should be updated.
I would wish more A-S grade weapons and armors, more 62-75 Dungeons and content. Than the game would not be that much focused and the super ueber 80+ gracia content.

Ofc L2 will never die. Ppl will just stop playing it b/c there will be better games in the future ^^ For now L2 is just fine. We'll see... Aion looks interesting too.

Lineage I is still alive and have grafics which are long behind. But its still played. Aion looks interesting yes, but its to call attention to the euro market with their WoW style gameplay. I dont like wow..maybe i will like aion. But i dont gonna leave L2 because of aion.
lin1 has been around 10 years now, and its still going strong with regular updates in korea.

I might be wrong.
ive gone to the lineage online website. i havent tried the game but i keep thinking i should. If anything to see if it offers some insight to L2 mythology.
I speculated that fafurian is the dragon coming up in the next gracia, its blue and i thought fafurian is the water dragon.

from very old posts people have stated there where to be 12 chronicles, back on forums during c2- c3 days, but with the gracian updates, tbh i dont know whats going on anymore.

theres always been speculation and wishlists.
people wanted gracia to be a warring faction with playable toons.
since we have
playable charecters from elmore and aden, it made sense there would be new races to come, but still, only speculation. Nothings official

Also i think some percentage of the players had a WTF moment with the kamael,
not understanding why the Delu, Ole Malhum or even the stillenos didnt get a shot
for the position.
The new dragon is Lindvior, its the wind dragon. Fafurion was created by Eva, and in the lin2 storyline she is not a goddess yet, but she becomes the goddess of water when something happens to her big sister whos already the water goddess.

I only asked about the 12 chronicles, because as far as I could remember it was only ever mentioned that there would be 6 chronicles at first, and then they would see where to go from there.. and then in Interlude they introduced the Chaotic Throne which was supposed to be another 6 episodes as far as I remember. But lin1 started out with "episodes" which were the same as chronicles almost, with 12 at first, adding in most of aden + the elmore regions, as well as 4 legendary dragons antharas valakas fafurion and lindvior. They then had "The Cross Rancor" which was something like interlude in lin2, and added another 6 episodes, getting deeper into the storyline with the darkelves and their fight for power.
and in the lin2 storyline she is not a goddess yet, but she becomes the goddess of water when something happens to her big sister whos already the water goddess.

I hate to call you on this, but you are wrong.

Shilen has long been stripped of her power as Water goddess and exiled to the underworld, where she created death and ruled over it.

Eva, though reluctant, assumed the mantle of the water goddess long before we even hit "prelude".

Consider that the background stories presented on the site are in chronological order, progressing from the Legend through Interlude. Prelude, of course, was the next installment.
well i think now normal thing that you see gludin and gludio and maybe at 1-2 server dion too ghost towns and why? XP-ing from 1 to 40 is more faster like than about 1 years ago or in the c5 times, u can buy the full d grade in shop, isnt good business nowadays sell d grade items prices went down. I play at teon i think in nowadays aden is more active town like than in c5 times.
I meant to say it but I guess I didn't let everyone know I wasn't sure of the storyline in l2... But either way the story on faf is that it was created by eva and had something to do with her mother + father, but it was a very young dragon, the last one created by the 4 elemental gods.

Its too bad I don't remember enough from the lin1 story, it was actually really good.. You just had to find the right npcs in game to read what they had to say about it
NCSoft see that L2 is a hugh game..a popular game. So they will make much more updates than they thought at the beginning thats for sure. As long players play it, there will be regular great updates. Look to Lineage I, still alive with much players and updates.

So far as I am aware, all the dragons are Shilen's children, even Aulakiria, the dragon of Light.

The babies born of Shilen's horrible labor bore the despair and anger of her curses and became demons. Among them, the strongest creatures were called 'dragons.'
There were a total of six dragons born with curses against the six gods.

Maphr Paagrio Eva and Sayha end up being the 4 gods of the elements in lin1, and they each have 1 dragon that corresponds to them, so as for the other 2 I donno how that fits in

But all I know is that when fafurion was introduced, it was said that he was the youngest of all the 4 dragons, and I am guessing that theres a chance he fits somewhere in the storyline between lin2 and lin1
From what I remember, Shilen is destroyed prior to L1, as are the dwarves.

So there are many changes between now and then, and I assume we'll see most of it.

This is my opinion (so take it as you might) but it's possible that the discrepancy in the lore from L1 and L2 is due to intentional misstatement from the sources: That is to say similar to how Einhasad's church has intentionally misled the population as to the creator of the human race, and how the Elves maintain that Eva was always their creator, etc.
no need to falme guys the poster and u have both corect points... yes dion is less populated i agree but it not only that l2 is dying (witc is a fact also) but it is cause of the new update and the vitality system and that the D and C grades are sold at the towns and many more ( lvl 1- 40 is like 2 -3 days bussines now)

More updates? Yes! For example you can kill 5000 mobs to get a great recipe... Wait! The price of this great recipes is a whooping 6000 adena in the Giran Grocery!

well dont blame me! I know its getting harder and harder and without partying it is impossible to get s82 and s84 gear. If even someone can get it xD But its ok for me...as long they try to make L2 bigger and more complex with new stuff its good.

Actually S82 and S84 will be dropable by instant raidbosses in FINAL.

true, but for sure it wont be easy even to get to those bosses. i have heared that it is really hard and in korea not reached till now.

well i dont think that l2 dying just some problems in EU/NA region, if u see the asian statistic u can see that it is start be strong again, and new server groups in russia in EU/NA region need some changes, example: always aviable trial accounts, bigger advertisment, maybe put to aviable the bonuses what have got the asian players, more much nice events. These all thing can help for the game at here that l2 earn new players, lure back the old players and keep the currently players. NCSoft is the second most stronger MMO maker group in the world i believe that for them wont be hard work to make again more popular the lineage 2 in EU/NA region.
well the bannings of the unlegit-ones is atleast a beginning to make l2 have the potentials to become popular again, so lets hope they continue with that.

I don't blame you at all. What I am angry about is the devs care about the top tier players and practically neglected everyone below lvl 73. One daily Kamaloka party is nothing compared with 100+ absolutely useless low and middle lvl quests giving stuff which is good only to be sold for few adena at the NPC shops.
At the same time Pailaka quests are example it is quite easy to make quests which are not boring, give some good XP and some reward which is nice to have.
This for me is a symptom the devs don't really care about attracting new players but just for keeping the old ones.

I must say that reworking the quest rewards for lvl 70- would be enough to occupy players while they level up to the levels that really matter, ie 76+ and soon 80+.
Then it's logical that following updates give more to 76+ simply because it's the part with the less PvE content while it's where you'll spend the most time. From 79, each level is like doing the 1-79 grind every level, so that's where there should be more areas, quests and gear. Just looking at the number of S-Grade armors and weapons, it's clearly the neglected part.
I'm sorry, I'll stay longer between 76 and 80 than between 1 and 40, but between 1-40 there's a plethora of now useless stuff while I'll go from low A-Grade armor to S80 because there's nothing inbetween for me.
So content for lower levels? There's enough. Just adapt the quest rewards.
you're missing the entire point. Its 100x easier for noobs to get to 73+, so why is content for lower lvls an issue? They should be lvling up and joining in on the rest of the endgame stuff with everyone else, not living their own lives down at low lvls where there is no fun and no profit.

have to agree i'm afraid
have to agree i'm afraid

well they just can handle us a 78+ toon with 3rd class for avoid the problems on low lvl players :P
well they just can handle us a 78+ toon with 3rd class for avoid the problems on low lvl players :P

Absolutely. Why just everyone don't start at lvl 78 then? The whole new concept contradicts to the basic principles of the RPG which presumes a steady advance with fun at all levels.
Now the whole concept is screwed. You grind mindlessly and extremely boring for several weeks to get to S grade. Why this is needed at all? Does it adds fun? No. Does it adds boredom? Yes.
And after you came to lvl 76 you find out you need to buy stuff for several thousands dollars if you want to be competitive to the top tier players. Why then just don't offer a shop with real money so who desires to buy the stuff directly from NCSoft? This way surely will reduce the bot population much more then the banning campaigns once every few years.

PS. It doesn't matter if 1-76 is short or long. If you want new players it must be fun. Imagine an advertizing: "Buy our game. After you pay for the game you must endure several extremely boring months AND you must proceed to pay for it. After that you must pay even more of you always will be inferior to the other players"
Because now L2 is exactly this for the new players. No wonder Dion is empty.

I agree with Jaay with alot of these points. they made it way to easy for the lower 70 to get 70+. It shouldnt be an issue anymore. But you have those few players that
want to enjoy there ride up there. it is disheartening to get 13k adena after spending two days doing a quest in the 20-30 range. or killing 500 mobs for a lower c grade earing.

Part of it is this game isnt supposed to be quest driven.
All i know is I hated the wishing potion quest.

but god

the rewards of all the effing quests are practically senseless. no thought went into them whatsoever. And the worst part of them was they practically spell out how bad the in game mechanics and engeineering are. At least before the hand out chronicle.

I agree with Uncle Tom. The reason this game will have a decline, besides the lack of game mechanics of the NPCs, is going to be the neglect to draw in new players. Hand holding the lower 62 and making everything easier isnt something any L2 player aseked for.

we just wanted them to fix the stuff they already had in game.
I mean was it easier to add a vitality system?
or to change the xp rate + rewards in some lower level quests?
Many people there say: "The lower levels are not needed to be interesting becasue the low level chars can raise in lvls quckly".
This is exactly the 9000 attitude some people here are hating. Remember the few new players what they ask:
"WTF is this game? I made my toon and entered the game and there is no one there?"
And what we explain to them? You have to wait until blah blah blah...
Instead we should be honest and to tell them they will have to endure (AND to pay for this) several boring months before they can reach the more interesting levels.
Why the hell someone who is high level thinks he has the power to judge the new players don't have to enjoy the game? No matter for short or for long - they MUST have fun - and no one should think he has the right to say "they will stay there for short so they can FY"
this game is what it is. its not friendly to veterans, so how can u ever ask it to be friendly to noobs? No matter what ever way you look at it, the fact that people level up faster now is a GOOD thing, I am not going to repeat myself once more on that. Anyone who seriously disagrees with this point needs a bullet through their skull. Simply because this simple fact is so true, its redundant and actually harmful to noobs to introduce all types of **** to just clutter their lives so far and make things MORE difficult for them than it already is. It still wouldn't give them any kind of experience like you're hoping, because anyone who would be willing to help out and join in and participate with said noobs would find it hard to slow down their pace enough to stay in line with the noob. The game simply is not designed for low level players, and I don't know why people are so hell bent on changing this.

Yeah, quests could give a bit more than 10k adena for 1.5 hours worth of work... Yeah, they could find a better way to integrate the noobs into giran where the large population is and bring them closer to the community.. But this game is what it is, a lot of hard work paid out by blood sweat and tears, and if they can't get enough motivation out of the satisfaction of being able to be self-sufficient on your own char from lvl 1 up to lvl63 with noob buffs, and being able to level at a rate like they do with vit, then lineage isn't for them.
Profeta were do you see the Asian statistics? linky please

http://www.ncsoft.net/global/ir/quarterly.aspx

here u can see in parts of the years how many user was online how many was the active account in which. If u count it, u can see that the numbers are very changable when example in EU/NA region was much active account, than was fewer account in taiwan after it is changed after back:) In the last qualityearring just the korean region aviable, but u can see in diagram and statistic that in japan games sales stronged and nicely growning the new user's number.
Well its sure that the game now slowly get a game for higher lvl players. This game is 5 years old and need to advance and suite the high lvl players. I can understand it in one way. After 5 years and so many updates its kinda normal this happen that they realese so many high end stuff since many players are playing here already since the beginning.
actually,
couldn't there be a discussion about making a 'training' area and then when u enter the game, poof you are level 40, have top gear for D grade and some shots?

it is where we are at almost now. Then with the re-leveling of the towns, etc and making is so people need to be everywhere on the map the noobies woudl get a sense that there are people in the game. One more thing might be to find a way to have high levels party with low levels so people can bring their friends in new and help them w/ out creating an alt.

just thinking out loud.

i have an idea
have a catastrophic event that destroys the inhabitants of aden every 16 months, reducing everyones level to 0.
would that not suck!
Ncsoft likes horrible suggestions. im hoping they dont like this one.

As weird as that sounds, it is an idea with significant foundation. New people would be plopped right next to people working on their subs in lets say Heine? The new folks get to benefit from the experience of the established folks and the veterans get to recruit some fresh blood and mentor them pretty much from day one. That sounds a Hell of a lot better than some poor ******* grinding for days or weeks in starter torns without seeing much more than 3-5 people a play session. Most new players don't see decent activity until they hit Dion and I would venture a guess that many, many players quit well before then.

Why take a chance on the new players doing the Giran SoE quest? Just send then right to Heine with gear, shots, and a chance to see some other living souls. Good idea Zhanig.

The problem is without new players no matter how you update the stuff for top tier players the game will die. Top and middle grade players leave for different reasons - i see in the game not more then 25% (if not less) from my friends list I made an year ago.
