Through out C Grade I used a demon set with a +5 Sword of Whispering death with Magic up SA. I know the casting speed is the worst of all, but I very much liked having my MAttack 1k+ So now that I'm B Grade, I blew up my SoWD, so I have a +3 Ecliptic Ax with Magic Up with an Avadon Set because everyone said the casting speed would be the best to add on to my toon. Should I just stick with the Avadon and get a B Grade wep with Acumen or is there one that can get a Magic Up SA?
you must not be very friendly, or know anyone with an SE.
cause if you did, you'd know two things: 1. the marginal matk boost of an empowering SA does NOT provide you with enough Matk to change your damage noticeably. 2. with Empower buff from SE, your damage is increased 75%. with this power, your Spellhoweler would have over 2500 matk at C grade. with this power, best SA choise is therefore Acumen.
before you try a B grade weapon, ask yourself what your plans are for A grade. B grade will go by quickly. i suggest keeping the Demon set, use an Acumen weapon. again because +4 int from the demon set is NOT equal to the boost Empower SA gives. the trade of acumens from Weapon to Armor is equal, however. you end up with MOST Matk and MOST casting speed using Demon robes, Acumen weapon.
Its not a very good choice for an sa. the 15% increased manause can be painful and you would do better with just an acumen sa. Unless, you have a recharger or a kookaburra to keep your mp full, i do not suggest magic power SA
now.. as far as armor goes.. for any type of pve, I will always say that castspeed is not the most important thing, while you are grinding +matk will always help more. Avadon set is ok for b grade, there isn't much better to get, zubei has -mp regen which hurts alot. but for A grade, nightmare has +mp regen as well as the +8% matk.. and ontop of that another +2 int. so for pve I dont think theres any other choice really, for a nuker..

Lol no it's not that, my SH was originally made just to have something to do when I got tired of my Kamael, and partying. Mainly a solo toon. But I've started to like her a bit more.

I think I will just stay with demon and a wep with acumen then, it's not like mobs come too close to hit me often
Demon is ok to [A] Grade but if you definatly want to get a armor and you arnt pvping, i would suggest zubie. If you pvp Acumen armor and weapon would be best. If things arnt getting close to you not using an acu weapon or armor might aswell pump as much into your MAtk as possible, that means making friends with an SE ^^
zubei has too much -mp regen, thats why i suggested avadon. if you have no recharger with you, you can run out of mana too often with -5% mp regen
but if its possible, demon is a good set to use till a grade.. but if you end up dying to much its because it has too low pdef, and -hp ontop of that.. so it might not be the best choice..
I have access to a 70 SE so not too worried about tryin to find one lol But I think I will stick with Demon as long as I can. I have Nightmare robes for A Grade.

I had NM robe set and can't say it's absolutely unsuitable for pve. Hunted solo in WoS and even hadn't too much problems with theese groupd mobs (judges of splendour etc), just sleep one mob, silence another one and shoot third one, then shoot silenced mob and finaly the one who's sleeped...:) But, once i get DC robe set, i could easily take theese 3-mob groups much more easier. No sleep, no silence just ds, ds, ds, ws, ds, ds. And that +15% cast speed and wit bonus realy felt so much better than theese cr4ppy 8%m.atk and int. Trust me, that m.atk bonus provided with NM set realy don't beats DC c.speed bonus. And as spellhowler you have alredy slowest cast speed of all nuker classes so you realy don't want to decrease it even more (-2wit).
