Bot Information

Bot Watch 2009 was great idea for a post, and got me thinking. It would be great if the mods could generate a section of these forums specifically for players to offer input about the places bots frequent. It would help the GMs keep an eye out for the players we players want to hunt, and help them keep those places free for us, and it would provide a much needed method of controlling the plethora of bot-related posts in sections of the forums the don't belong in.

IT could be something like a sticky post in the forums for each server that players can just add on to, or a sticky here in the "General Discussion" section where it will get much more attention from players.

The guidelines for posting on the sticky threads should be simple:
Post the name of the place you saw the suspected violators, and then describe the suspects.

No names (so that players aren't reported if they are legit and mistaken for a bot) but a simple description.

Example:

Server: Teon
Region 1: Wall of Argos
A party of 4 players: 1 Blade dancer, 1 Berzerker, 1 Shillen Elder, and 1 Warcryer.

Region 2: Forrest of the Dead
2 Bishops, each with their own (presumably OOP) recharger.

Region 3: Ketra Orc Outpost
1 Berzerker, 1 Prophet, and 1 Shillen Elder

This will also let players know who to keep an eye out for when they hunt... the more they know, the more the bots get reported and thus the more measures are taken ^^

Why? The GM's don't need any help in figuring out where the bots are, they're not complete idiots. And if they do, reporting them in game will be about 50x more helpful than a post on the forums they likely won't even read. If you want a post to whine about the bots in your hunting spot, it already exists, if you want to help GM's find bots, a better method already exists.
Making accusations on the official forums is against the rules of conduct.

Bad idea imo.

Who said anything about accusations? It would function as a tool for players to let them know where the bots are most frequently seen. If no names are given, then no harm is done.

FYI, these empty gestures are very useless, to everyone.

In case you haven't realized yet, the problem with the bots is not that they can't be found, but rather that they can't be "undeniably proven" as bots and so they remain.

Comparing to WoW number of bots... and reaction time for checking L2 GM's are far beyond ....

Focus on players, if NC will not focus on legit ppl, then a lot of ppl will just change a game or leave the game.
This way or another NC will lose (in first case will be dubble lose - you will not pay to NC but to another company, and you will leave the game).
