sigh.. im lvl 65 AW .i used to like this class utill i became a grade...now i really have hard time to solo without buff n to duel with BD...is it hard to beat BD for AW or ..may be im not good at pvp.if AW supposed to loose to BD in pvp im gona really be dissapointed..i need some good advice in pvp skill.. i tried to duel my clannie(BD) n before his cp is out i was aleady down. btw my gear was 8+ BO n NM +4333.

Theres no much tips. U can only rely on ur luck in blows landing rate, and Trick. When u get blinding blow then u gain more chances but still, AW is good only in 78+... If u want an easier dagger to play b4 78's, go TH. More HP, more atk spd, dash, stealth, trick/switch...
First of all you cant fight with heavy armored face to face ..I hope you are using trick to drop target, run behind and backstab/blow ..from behind bigger chances to land blows... backstab hit straight to HP (halfkill from backstab also got straight to HP).
When your blows reload (or at very beginning) use hex to lower your opponent defence.
Use sand bomb against melle dd/archer ..its significantly lower their accuracy.
Summarizing.
1. HEX before dd get to you
2. Trick ..run around and backstab
3. Sand bomb/Hex
4. Run around and blow
5. Trick ..run around and backstab
6. Run around and blow
My 2 adenas AW vs Gladi
As I see there is level restriction. Both gladi and AW goes much more powerfull in 78+.
What a difference in yours pvp - no CP pots. It changes a lot, believe me.
And usually end game winers are these who can make more dmg than cp pots can be used.
Ok, lets beck AW vs Gladi.
Gladi is tough target for AW - he has a lot hp, he can (and must against daggers) use burst dmg skills. So, you can not relay on yours evasion. Good part is that gladi have no imobilize or stun skills.
I see there only one good tactic: wait till skills restores (keep distance), run to gladi, at close range use trick (because definitely he will try to use triple slash or etc.), back blow, deadly blow. And again, run away. Assaults.
Because gladi is melee (I think at that time he don't have remote skill yet) hex and even power break works perfectly.
If you wana be ugly use freezing strike - slow him.
And of course use blessed spirit shots for hex, power break and freezing strike.
And at very first attack you can use sting.
And sorry for mine awful english. :)

P.S. At 66lvl you will get very usefull skill "Binding blow". So not much for grinding ;)
IMO Trick is overated. Only a person who didnt see Trick before will fall in the "trick" :D. The second they realize what that skill does, no one will ever fall in that again. And use freenzing strike? Lol, too slow (cast spd) skill IMO... Maybe against a Destro but still...
Whats with all this nonsense about omg lvl 78+ is teh uber? No kidding? He's lvl 65 and unless he's fighting people way over his level it's a no brainer he's going to lose, espeically with a lack of buffs.
Seriously man, find a good clan that you can party with or at least get clan hall buffs and solo. Stick with it and I swear you won't be disappointed. you are pretty much worthless without decent buffs like most classes, remember that.
One main thing you need to learn is movement, you can't rely on front stabbing much, it works but you're better off learning to trick and move to the side and behind your target. Trick isn't overrated, it can give you more than enough time to move to a different position before your enemy retargets you.
Lastly whenever it comes to group PvP your main priority will be soft targets (robe or light armor), heavy armor targets can be a pain to deal with sometimes, but as time goes on and you gain more levels lethals and half kills will start to happen more often as well newer stabs such as blinding Blow and Lethal Blow. When you get Focus Death and all that stuff you will be happy you stuck with your class.
Don't know what kind of enemies u fought with ur GH but, all smart ppl I fought was smart enough to at least make a /target macro if they cant retargets u fast enough hehe...
And no one said AW 78+ is uber... I said that an AW isn't a class that u can win relatively easy in lower lvs, unlike Necro, or Tyrant, or Berserker for exmaple.
Speaking of Berserker class, I fought one several times (when I was 59, and he was 59 too), and I lost every time. Some matches I didnt even got his CP. Shoulder Charge is broke IMO :(.

2. mass pvp, when first/most dangerous targets are known
At plains pvp usually nobody bother to create macro on running enemy. And especially now when [auto target on damage gain] and [don't loose target on hold down /attack button] settings are on...
trick is useful... even a split second which it takes for the person to press the /target macro or w/e gives the dagger alittle time to move behind and attempt a BS
However if u have decent Equip and get a bit lucky ofc can do it.
U need a few things that will give u an edge over classes you have difficulty killing.
Things like:
CP Shirt
PvP Armor (NM is Top A so you can make it PvP)
Critical Dmg S.A dagger (preferably A grade for the extra dmg PvP bonus)
Bracelet with P.Def and Speed Talisman.
If u have all these and also 66lvl to learn Mortal Strike lvl2 and Blinding Blow things will be easier for you.
Start the PvP with Vicious Stance, Mortal Strike and UE and try to Trick him in order to land Backstab.
If u can't get on his back use Blinding Blow and try BackStab.
If u still can't land BackStab kite away till re-use or Trick/Blinding and try again.
U should be as disruptive as u can by using Trick.
If u land CP Lethal at the beggining of PvP it will help u greatly.
Still Gladis if played well are a hard class to beat for AW but don't worry.
Your class is meant to kill Robes and Light Armor targets.
Besides on real mass PvP Gladis can't kill noone that is CP Pot spamming efficiently but AW/GH can 1shot many classes with BackStab.
PS: Gladis have Stun skills. They get Hammer Crush that if used with a Haste S.A Blunt can turn the PvP around to their favor easily if u don't have Majestic Light set.
PS2: I assume you are without Dyes.

Yeah is useful, I just said it is just overrated. Other ppl talk about Trick like a Win Skill :D.
I heard such info: when enemy uses radar software with autotarget and lock target. Trick is useless and even Mirror is useless because enemy have you all time on target.

AW vs Gladi, not much the AW can do but hope for lethal strike.
However, in melee vs melee like AW vs BD take many small steps, and stab often. like, Stab run away until its recharged then stab again. This will limit your point of melee contact to a minimal, and then on the 3rd time mix it up. Also, if they hesitate in chasing you, AW has a plethora of sour tasting spells. also, when they finally do reach melee range, they're like garunteed to use a skill, what a PERFECT time to trick/bluff, and they're probably chanting KILL KILL KILL MDK unsuspectingly. When your eventually rooted I guess UE+sandbomb ftw.
This doesn't work very well vs orcs & dwarfs (stun***), and gladi's are uber ranged melee? I still don't really understand that one. ALL you can really do is try to trick/bluff them out of TSS. Failing that, try not to get 1shot'd
by the way TRICK OWNS PVE! Im like the only person I know who solo's Varkas. Sure sure I can get 40% of my life knocked off by 1 special attack. but it practically NEVER lands, because I am waiting with my finger on F4, and the instant swirly chargy animation comes out *poof gone. During that time im tinking away, waiting for something to cancel, dagger mastry buff activates and seriously cheapens the stabs.

u must ******* suck if u cant beat a gladie ATLEAST ONE TIME. my main is a 79 Ghost Hunter...i dont have a prob killing any classes expect tanks...sure i wont always kill that gladie or destro but i dont lose every time either.....

I never fought a Gladi here, I was talking in PTS. Go there and try to kill a Gladi plz. And yeah I may suck at playing AW (playing such class with 220-250ms ping is crazy I know), but there was a very skilled Adv there, with OE dual daggers and he lost many matches in a row too, so I ask you to go to PTS and fight skilled Gladies and see if u can beat them. Ah and take screenshots or videos (preferably) too...
If you're talking about the current pts, well what do you expect with gimped stabs? Low oe skills suck against 80+ people. Basically all classes that require skills to kill others are pretty gimped. Coin flip classes like Adventurers and daggers in general are even worse off.

I not meant AW vs those classes, I meant those classes are pretty much better than AW regarding vs all the other classes. In other words, those classes (and a few more) are a better "all around" than AW.
AW is good at pvp only in 78+. If you want a good pvp class even at low lvs, reroll to a necromancer or tyrant, or sps.
I dueled (I mention dueled) with an arbalester,a shilien knight and a bounty hunter. All those guys were 50lvl+ and I was 54. Well, I got easily the Arbalester (3 times in a row) and the shilien knight but the stun of the Bounty Hunter was extremely nerve breaking so I lost.
What I used was Trick and Hex and then I went to their backs and started hitting with backstab and deadly blow.
Question: Can someone tell me if trick only cancels the target and it doesn't have a cooldown or something that causes the player to not be able to target back? I ask this because I was tricking them and they weren't targeting me back for about 4 seconds. Newbie question but if someone knows answer please.

It only cancels the target,doesnt causes the player to not be able to target back...those 4 seconds u mentioning was probably the time a legit player needed to retarget u back-doesnt happen with most high lvl players cause most of them have autotarget programs...
Every class is good at PVP, IF you know how to play it right and in the case of Korean games like this one, IF you have uber gear, seems like every korean game I have played you need uber gear and l33t skillz, and it seems like every korean game I have played has classes that seem uber, until you go up against a player who has l33t skillz and is playing a class that counters yours, sounds like to me you have heard from people who know how to play AW, and in the case of xZolteR wants to be a troller. If you know how to pick out the good advice from the crap, then you will be better off. Sounds to me like AW weren't meant to take on heavy targets, just like if you were trying to use a dagger to pierce platemail IRL, koreans are like that, add real world physics to fantasy games, maybe it is why their games are so popular. AW are not meant to go toe to toe with anyone it seems, you have to rely on your skills and spells, even going up against a robed or light armored player is suicide if you want to try a straight up head to head fight, unless they are playing their class badly too, in which case you may just win, but yeah, find a good clan also that can watch your back too, that is another thing with korean games, they are geared mostly toward clans and teaming, as well as heavily pvp oriented it seems. If you want a class that can go toe to toe with anything almost, witout dying then yeah, reroll. But, if you are willing to stick it out and try to learn how to play a char that is more stealth oriented and uses trickery and a few spells then stick with your AW, you shant be disapointed it sounds like to me, if you listen to the good advice from players who know how to play one, and not the trollers. And to you players using a third party program to auto-target, that is a **** technically in NCSofts eyes, anything that gives you the advantage ofer true player who dont **** is hacking, so I will report you if I catch you doing it, and I hope the rest of the true players will too.
Trick/switch are useful up until you get bluff. After that pvp is all about shadowstep and stab, if they dont die and retarget you bluff and game over. And ya glads have stuns, and if they are smart and oe them for chance you more than likely aren't going to have fun fighting them.
Take advantage of different terrains(like cata) and sneak attack is what a smart dagger should do.
When you got the highest chance to 1 shot enemies from behind why bother to discuss a face to face fight. It's a waste of time to talk about how a dagger pwn a heavy armor/high def player imo.

also like 1 person stated, dont forget that you do have UE in your arsenal, it might not last long and has a longer cooldown, but, it does have the ability to evade SKILLS as well. nothing funnier than seein a gladi use TSS and do 0 dmg bc it missed.
and yes as a duelist it was funny for me the first time i missed when UE was changed to evade skills. :P
