I am still fairly new to the game and will be hitting A grade in the next few days. I was wondering if anyone could recommend what weapon and armor set I should use. I have heard I should also get a dagger. Any idea which dagger I should get? In addition, what kind of jewelry should I be wearing? I have heard that Infernal Master is the way to go. I noticed there is a Sword of Ipos that has more base damage. Which is better and why?
Tyrant or Destro? (I'm thinking Destro by some of the things you say, but let's get the record straight.) Any other info you can provide on your aims and playstyle would also help others help you.

Thanks for answering a nub's questions!

you have 4 options which i will lay out:
Majestic heavy - high Patk, +stun resist, can PVP augment.
Tallum Heavy - adds Str and Atk speed, resist common bleed debuffs from blazingswamp and WOA mobs.
Nightmare Heavy - adds Patk, can PVP augment, can use 1hsword if you want, and take advantage of +shield set bonus.
if you used Majestic heavy, i'd look for a Haste weapon. if tallum heavy, look for a Focus weapon. if NM heavy, look for a 1h sword with haste or focus.
the dagger they suggest you get is any dagger that has RSK haste SA. this is for when you get to 30% HP, you switch to the dagger and use Frenzy and Zealot, then switch back. this allows Zealot to cool down faster.
why do i suggest a Haste weapon? simple. kill RATE affects your levelling speed. this means that killing them faster and more frequently (or even AOE style) will net you better exp than levelling with efficiency. it may be fun to get big crits, but the simple truth is you kill faster with haste than you do with focus, hence using Zealot as much as possible.
this is also the reason many destros use Tallum heavy.
by the way, Sowrd of Ipos is only craftable by earning the blades from Primeval isle. i seriously dubt youll find more than one for sale under 500m. with that, your best bet is Infernal Master or Dragonslayer.
You can augment majestic hvy?!? This is good news to me. Any tips on what lifestones/lvl to augment the armor? I am assuming this can be done by the BS in town?

pvp augment. you use Fame points, at the Fame manager in Aden or Rune.
you may only augment the main piece of top-A, S or Low S80 (dynasty, not vesper).
Nice to know, thanks. I may not have any more fame points since I turned them in for clan points. Now that I think about it though, I share this armor with my dwarf so I guess I really don't want to do this.
So here is the deal. Go with Tallum heavy + IM /focus, +5str+4dex-9con. This is about the best leveling setup you can get. Will you get stunned easily? Hell yeah, avoid stunner mobs and this is not an issue. Try leveling in catacombs, you won't have to run too much. Sure you migh have to kill a few stunner mobs here and there (not many rooms have them anyway), not a big deal though if you don't pull a whole room at once. I would also suggest poling, but that got severly nerfed for the destro and requires more support. Single target you only need an SE+alacrity pots. Later on add a BD and you can clear 2 rooms no problem. Also, if you want some adrenaline, cancel VR when you are about to pop zealot+frenzy+rage and let the SE heal you. Despite of what Spudnik says, it IS fun to be running around with 10k+ p.atk and almost 300 crit rate.
Also about the suggestion of using a haste weapon, that is nonsense, simply because the higher you get, the more you will rely on crits. Regular fast hits won't make you levels faster, but buffed (DW, dance of fire, optionaly cat queen buff) crits will make you kill considerably faster.
There might be people here that come and suggest you use a blunt because zealot gives 100% crit damage and you can use more skills with it. This is another nonsense. Blunts crit once in a year. Alternatively, they will also advise using NM heavy and turn yourself into a meatshield, you can see such posts here...don't even make me comment on that.
Hope this will be of some help to you. If you cannot find an SE, just grab a PP and go somewhere where herbs drop...Blazing swamp and FoTD in particular. If you get bored with catacombs and the spots above. Farm the undeads near devastated castle for blue/red gems. This can make you nice money.
If you have any other question feel free to ask.
PS: My main is an almost lvl 80 Titan, so that you know I am not just talking out of my ***** :)
Thanks all for the posts. MyForumNick assuming I can get Sword of Ipos what is your opinion regarding it vs the Infernal Master? Which would you prefer.
Also, I am lvl 59 what is the best place for me to hunt solo?

ipos is top a grade and can get the best SA health focus or haste
imo go for focus on it only prob is ipos is very expensive and also imo not worth getting since its almost the price of s grade inf master is low a much less p att but u can put focus on it too wich is nice and its a cheap blade dragon slayer would be good if u want health SA but u dont wanne go to expensive on a grade
as for armor go for majestic

Hey,
Your best bet is Enchanted Valley. Not much running and really good exp.
Ipos is of course your best bet, but for the money not quite wirth it imo. If I was you I would just use and IM since you will have high p.attack anyway and save the money for S grade. An Ipos can go up to 500mil if it has focus on it; Heavens divider /focus costs about the same.
While we're on the topic I was wondering if I could get some opinions on a setup I'm contemplating.
Currently I'm a 64 dest with maj hvy, a +4 IM (focus/crit augmented) and a 65 wolf with pretty good gear and WC buffs. I am on the fence with what tats to go with. I'm not sure if I really want to sacrifice another 8 con on top of the two I already lost from the maj. I was thinking that since I already have the added damage from the wolf I may just do a +4 dex -4 str and stick with that. I could do a +2 str -2 con to go along with it but I'm not sure if that would be overkill on the -con. Any advice on this matter?

The sole reason for me to go +4dex was to minimize cooldown on skills like rage/frenzy/zealot. In gracia final this will change, but who knows when that will be. Until then, I would got +4dex if I was you (i still have it, and I exp in HB).
Every point in str above 40 adds about 4% of p.atk. So obviously, for fastest leveling, you want to go +5str. Don't do any compromises. I was roling with -11str until I started to wear IC, so now I am at -9con. You basically don't really have to care since you will kill really fast. The amount you can VR also depends on your damage, not the amount of HP. Healers can also heal only as much. The only difference this will make is when picking a HP herb, and they will give you enough healing even with -11, believe me. You have "save your *****" skills that will help you if you get into serious situation.
And ditch the MJ heavy and get Tallum heavy asap. There is a reason why the build is used by 95% of the people :)
why to you have to change your set ?? you will earn little more money (if you play in Luna, Maj is more expensive than Tallum)
do a AOE, you have pole skills. use them. go on green mobs with a friend (WC or SE) and kick em up. Maj give you 3 accuracy that can help in addition. you will not be able to make good pvp-s with pole, but you will kill enough mobs to get IC ASAP. save your money. with A grade set you can go to the common areas, but the new one will be enough hard to give it up very soon.
I find myself spending a lot of time on my raider-soon-to-be-destroyer in the catacombs poling for AA. It's slower leveling than my howler, but much more profitable and safer for the stupid pet. Will I be able to continue poling to level into A grade (once I get there of course)? Or should I switch back to a big two-hander at some point?
This thread caught my eye because I'd been considering Maj for the accuracy and stun resist. Missing when poling is just painful.

Yes you can pole relatively easy until A grade, but the higher you get, the more support you will need. For what you would need an SE/WC, BD and healer, I can go without the healer and kill just as fast a room in a catacomb as you poling. Yes you spend less on shots, but I have to divide loot between less people and also don't have to spend hours looking for a healer :)
But do whatever you want. I already provided a good way to lvl, with the gear and the spots. Somehow, people still consider MJ to be the better option...

I haven't been sold in any direction yet. I'm still in D grade after all. :D
I just noticed in catacombs I was either killing only the aggro mobs or I was getting multiple mobs per pull, so I decided to try poling. The support I have and am likely to have in the near future is the newbie buffs. When those are gone I'm hoping to get an improved buffalo.
Of course I might actually be able to find a team when I'm 62+, so who knows.

Newbie buffs are good enough for your level. Always try to pull as many as you can. Equip a dagger (any kind will do) and smack the mobs that will pull the most mobs via social aggro, repeat untill you have the whole room or the most you can handle at a time. Done that on my gladiator alt and it was fun. But as mentioned, later it gets more difficult. I strongly advise getting a PP/WC/SE friend, since pet buffs aren't that good :) They are hard to find though.
Thanks for all the constructive posting guys. Here is what I went with based on everyones input. I was able to get all the base mats for Ipos and didnt have to spend as much as people normally do. I got lucky on the 60% craft and now have a +3 Sword of Ipos, +3 Tallum Heavy, +5 str, +4 dex, -9 con (still getting used to the lower health) tats, +3 Majestic jewelry all slots, B grade undershirt.
I was wondering if it is worth it to try to enchant my armor to +6? Anyone have a set that is +6 that can comment on the bonus?
Also, I still have to SA my Ipos. I have seen the red crys 12 for sale at around 140mil which is alot of adena I dont have. Anyone have any opinion on lvling a red crys 10 to 12? How hard is it to get a raid group going? Is there a particular raid boss that is easier than the others to kill so that I can lvl my crystal? I am on Phoenix server.
With my new gear I am 2 shotting mobs at VOS. I am killing extremely fast and really like it. I am still getting used to the lower health but all in all, I am very happy with the setup. Thanks again everyone!
This got my eyes, how does a destroyer and a wolf duo do? They should have a huge kiling power and with bufs even beater, but what mobs can you kill? Can you do x2/x3/4 mobs? or small group mobs by single hitting, like beast lord in GC or barifs etc? Can you hold agro from the wolf at over 65?
Destro / wolf is nice; I did that for a bit before I decided to make a Tyrant. yes, if you're not careful, the wolf can grab aggro, but that can happen with most any class. If you're playing a Destro, at least you have Crush Of Doom to help you get it back (or kill the mob before he kills the wolf).
