There is a positive side ofcourse. The prices of basic materials went down as 60-70% of the high level bot groups got banned because their owners are making new bot groups who hunt in the lower areas and collect more materials at increased rates.

what? bots are ketra in Teon are disgusting, they should all be banned.

Autologout should be easy to detect in the logs. If you have the same party logout at the same time from the same place and back in multiple times it should raise flags. All they have to do is write something to scan the logs.

Wait what? Ketra is not okay ont Teon. Its one of the worst places actually. Ketra/Varka/WoA are extremely heavilly botted on Teon... I would be grateful if some of the GMs could do another sweep of those bots for me... wuld realy help with my leveling and enjoyment (being able to hunt when I log in, not after the bots are done).
Guys, just keep reporting them, check first if they AFK, if not wait until they are, that's the best way to get rid of them, also shout in chat and ask for a hero to help ^ ^.
Dont report them every second, because probably the GM will not take you seriously. Take your time, but do it properly!
Hmm when i petition some bots , i always get fast response , but i check the same area 2 days after i petition it and still no results of Gm banning the bots :)
NCSOFT -1 BOTS +1 - bot hero group unbanned on Luna due to mass petition. Yah sure thing gaming experience on retail is improving, a lot, for 3pp users :) And dont put me on the QQ shelf cuz I couldnt care less bout them playing or not. Just cut the crap bout NCSOFT doing such a f***ing good job plzz :D
I believe there are legal actions against them so moving there site might not be of any help. Thou i would love to see some publicity from NCS about bringing them to court or stuff.

Yeah... They went even that far to close down all discussion about it. Not taking a crap about people and their opinion, ruining the first rule of DEMOCRACY and forgetting that THE CLIENT ALWAYS RIGHT.

theres about 9 different programs that automate gameplay, folks. good old walter's programmers are being sued (hence a subpoena) and no more issues of walter will be issued until the subpoena is lifted.
until they close the other 8 or more smaller distribution programs, i wouldnt get too high hopes just yet.
remember: gamehaqs isnt the only place cracked versions of stuff cropped up. check your local torrent site; theres hacked versions of almost everything.

I hadn't been in Wastelands for a good month, but returned yesterday with a new rerolled toon. I see the same Gatehouse dwarf toon still running around the area as I saw a month ago. He doesn't respond to any communication so best guess is a bot. Also a toon shouldn't be lvling against mid lvl 20 mobs for over a month - something smells fishy. When is a GM going to come and ban him? I reported him with three different toons over past month.

bottom line is the GM's are only human. they are allowed to make mistakes. the good Lord knows this isnt the first mistake made by the entire staff, and it certainly wont be the last.
... i am just a bit disappointing how things look and very disappointing about some of the players who defend them. Clearly some stuff here are just wrong.... BTW i am on Teon, there existence dosnt affect me one bit. The principles broke here and how problem was fixed does bother me thou.

I am not supporting them or defending them, I am supporting the GM's in their decision. I report bots all the time, I pk them all the time. The evidence to support the bans are just not there, the GM's even said this..not 1 but 3 of them. Does it suck? Yeah it does that potential cheaters are getting another chance but like the GM's said the proof was not recorded so sadly they have to lift the ban.
The principles are not broken they are in fact working just fine. Taking into consideration what the GM's have said I would hope that these standards would apply to everyone across the board. What if someone reported you, petitioned you and a GM popped up said hi and you missed it cause you put attack on and ran to get a drink because you knew the mob wouldn't kill you? This is essential what the evidence they have is, so if they banned everyone for these minor things a lot of legit players would get banned.
The thing is about this group is that if they truly do bot then they will get caught at some point. Once a bot always a bot and they may play by rules for a little but they will undoubtedly go back to old habits.
If all everyone on these forums do is worry about bots and cheaters then you will never have fun playing any online game not just L2. Your lives will be a lot less stressful if you just report them and move on to whatever it was you were planning on doing and not getting worked up that they are not banned when you want them to be, nothing in life happens the second you want it.
