Come back to the game this week, Havnt played in a serious long time, I was wondering is there any advice which i can get on TATS for a SK? Taking into consideration Final is going to come out soon and any changes to skill reuse etc i have been reading about.
When i quit i had +4 CON -4 STR and +4 WIT -4 INT
Any advice would be much appreicated thanks in advance.
I'm currently using +4 str +4 dex -8 con +4 wit - 4 int
Works well for me for pvp, solo, small grouping, and Kamas.
I think the argument with tattoos for SK is the ability to play the role as a tank while maintaining the ability to dish out damage and work their debuff magic on the field.
Though i speak from pre A grade for now - I will be getting my Majestic soon and that should balance the -8 con as far as getting stunned.
Dex does improve shield defense, and the run speed is nice.
Wit is needed more than int imo because it's more crucial for you to cast faster than losing a small amount of m attack.
I believe DE gets a bonus from STR more than CON, unlike a Human class.
Hope this helps.
Also - Dex effects physical skill reuse now.
And welcome back.
+STR is good for killing your Enemies faster but u also need to be able to Kite Orc classes on Zealot so also +DEX is important.
SK plays Oly in a similar manner like TK. Kiting and lading debuffs from spells and cubics and when enemy is weak enough they do frontal combat. However SK is a lot more offensive but dies faster than other Tanks.
You need also Health weapon to land Touch of Death with lower HP loss.
Plus a good Drac. Bow Focus +++ with 150 element to hit and kite while u land your cubics from a distance.
Everything changes to the better when u reach 80lvl and get Smart Cubic.
(i don't think i have to mention the importance of Talismans)
Gotta say I disagree with most of you as far as tats go for SK and BD. In my opinion the best tat for both of these classes is +4 Str -4 Dex, that's it, plain and simple. Dex is so over rated, it's a shame anyone other than rouge classes gets + Dex but hey I guess people think that the +3 acc, +4 runspeed and +10 attack speed is gonna be a deal breaker (OMG lets not forget the additional 7 crit rate).
Dex also affects shield defence rate. Why lower that on a tank?
Again -4 Dex is lowering shield defense about 3%, OMG.
It's all about trade offs and setting up a char so that it performes at a good level in all situations.
So for me I XP in Tal and PvP in IC, so when I XP my stats are 47, 30, 30, if I went the more popular route (+4 Str -4 Con), my con would drop to 26. With that I would be at 47, 34, 26. I might kill slightly faster but I would lose a significant amount of HP, lower stun resist (as if it isn't low enough already) and really hurt my weight capacity. Not worth it IMO. Now in IC (pvp) my stats are 47, 28, 32, with the other tat I would be at 47, 32, 28. So yeah, 28 con in an armor set that give no weight bonus on a class that already has the lowest stun resist and HP. I could probably hold 100/100 CP pots max (counting SSS/bsps weight). Again no thx, if I remember to I will just pop on a crappy runspeed talisman (sold in stores) to make up for the lower runspeed and it's all good.
I won't argue the point, all I will say is that I prefer -4 Dex and I think if more people tried it they would aswell. People need to keep in mind that even when a DE has 30 Dex all thier "speed" stats will still be higher than a human tank/fighter because of DE latent stats.
EDIT: just fyi I have three toons, an 80 SK, 80 BD, and 78 PP (perfect trio) and on both the BD/SK I have the +4 Str -4 Dex tat.
+4 STR - 4 DEX is great set up for PvE/PvP but the thing is that with -4 dex I loose about 8 speed which makes me slower than a same lvl mage. Also -4 DEX is rly noticable when you've to fight daggers. And because there're so much of them it's rly pain in the *** when you can't hit them.
My main is a SK 70 and I actually don't use any tats, because Maj set already gives +2 STR -2 CON, and with +stun bonus IMHO it's a good compromise between STR and CON. I am using a DLE CD, but probably I should switch to Health. Still, +WIT -INT tat it's a good idea, because cast spd is too **** low for a tank-debuffer class like SK, even with acumen buff.
I just recently hit shil templar on my arcana lords sub, but I havent really put any tattoos on it.
Im intrigued as to what your perfect trio kills though, seeing as how you have no VR buff.
When I play my ST I box BD,WC,EE with the BD hitting the mobs also.
I never did the math on going -4 dex, but I might try it. Never really liked going -4 con on darkelves >.<
I trio anteroom in Pagans easily, my FB is 150 Holy and I am working on BD duals (they are 35 Holy ATM). When my BD was lower I danced Fury/Fire/Vamp and VR dance was plenty to keep me alive. Now that my BD is 80 most my dances are OE'ed, Focus Mind is OE and IR is +1 so I can easily hold 4 Dances Fury/Fire/Warrior/Vamp. My gear isn't anything special other than the 150 Sword, I only have +3/+4 Tall Hvy Sets and Tat Jewels Sets for SK/BD. PP only has DC and +3 Maj Jewels.
If you wanted to go Dark you could use this exact set up in the first rooms in MOS but I went holy because the vast majority of Mobs in this game are demon/undead.
EDIT: I just want to add that while you need Holy on your weap to trio Pagans you don't need 150 Holy. I think I was only at 50 on my Sword and 20 on dualz when I first started doing this. With Holy Weap it was 70/40 and that was enough to really increase my damage.

Your toon must be bugged because you don't lose -8 Speed by going -4 Dex. My toon has base runspeed of 134, w/o -4 Dex it is 139 that is -5 speed. That can be compensated with a runspeed talisman from store (+3 speed) that last an hour. As far as acc goes well lets see, you lose 3 by going -4 dex, make that up with a acc aug if it worries you but it's not a big deal. I have fought many, many daggers, the majority being FOTM Mirage TH's and only time I ever lose is when they 1:1 me (won't happen anymore). You shouldn't be trying to swing all that much on a dagger at start of fight anyway cause the UE. Cycle Bash/Judgment/Sting until UE wears off then kill them, pretty easy actually, when they run use LS/Drain/Leech. If you were ready you should have had Cubics up anyway and they should be just about dead.
No it's not bugged. 186 speed w/o -5 dex and 179 w/ -5 dex. But I'm not sure if it's -5 or -7 dex. I've never lost to dagger also(unless 1/1) but due to 3 miss 2 hits I've to use all my CP pots on 1 dagger. Well I think it also influances that I'm lvl 78 while dagger lvl 80.

Yeah not much you can do about this, even going + dex you're still gonna whif alot.

I recently blew my health sword and am now using common so I decided to rearange my tattoos since the -8 con was not so good on my healers while tanking.
I changed my character from +4str +4dex -8con to the +4str -4dex tat
Here are the results of changed stats unbuffed on a 66 SK
So in my opinion if you can afford it, I would go the setup I chose at first for 40-61, as you will mostly be leveling as a damage dealer and the run speed crit rate is nice. I can see now that the HP, CP loss with that setup is not formadble for a tank in the later levels if you wish to survive without AMAZING gear.
Hope this helps someone, and I hope everyone enjoys SK as much as I am,
Shame.
What is better for tanking, i'm totally new to this game, i came from WoW...so are there like end-game bosses to get phat lewt from, or what...i'm totally lost but i heard that DE was the best tanking class...if so what stats should i go? And which class role should i go down...thanks =).

Palus Knight/Shilien Knight is the Darko elf Tank class, there are plenty of end game Raids, and bosses to do, Dark elves don't make the best Tanks as far as taking damage, but I enjoy the playability of the class, and haven't had any troubles with tanking myself.

Enjoy.
Never understood why people say this. Ability to tank is based off PDEF and SK has same P Def as TK. Human tanks have more pdef (Majesty) but with Guard Stance and Aegis SK is equal (if not better). HP is irrelevant; as long as you have proper buffs and a good healer it's never an issue.

We have a lot less HP, that's all I meant - there are WAY TOO MANY factors to argue who is the best tank as far as taking damage with (insert skill ++gear boss jewel / and pvp pve prespective) But like I said I haven't had any problems, and I use normal unsealed majestic, and common weapon.
Wow I guess I am the only 1 that adapt the stats depending in what armor i use. I have Shillien Templar 79 level, got the leve last week. I have a majestic heavy set and IC shied and an FB with focus SA. I was using a DC heavy set and never really complaint (nightmare was so much more ecpencive at that time) until I starting to have really stun problem since I started exping in HS and above. I solve it with changing armor to Majestic for the antistun effect it has. In DC I had no dyes, but I needed with maj so I did a +4 con -4str to get it as it was (str39,dex34,con34). The 43 str & 30 con is NOT an option for me, since this is a tank class and maj gives some p atk with it anyway. Turn out that this set up was MUCH better than the DC. IN pvp is ok I think and have already done Olympiad matches with this set up against others and I was pretty happy with the result. You are going to say that I do little damage with this stats but I solve that problem too. How? It took me a year but I have a snow fenrir 79 level too (with top gear, took the level last week too). I miss the I.C. bp to complete my IC set (I got all the rest of the armor) and when I will finally got the set I will do a +2dex-2str, becouse the +2str-2dex is totally unecceptable to me, at least for this class. I hope I helped. I forgot to say that I got a boxed buffer too. Shillien Saint 79 level (took the level at last week also :P). I have played her as main many times though :).
For long time i use SK from 40-61 i used +4dex -con but now at 74 i use no tat's as i get more then enought dex str with pp WC buffs i also think having an GW helps on the dps side can solo silent vally/ketra/varka/IOP
I have maj jewels all augmented nm Set Tall haste

NM is trash... maj is same pdef but much better set bonus, or since you use tallum blade the atk speed of tallum would be usable also
well what i used up to lvl 80 was +5 str - 5 con just to lvl but for pvp i want +5 con - 5 str
reason for that is one more stun resist and carry more cps and more cp/hp u dont need to deal much damge as a sk cuz you have posion and bleed hex and more debuffs that the -5 str doesnt matter. in oly i dont use any and i like have no tato i only do the +5 con -5 str for epic bosses or raid boss or HB but if u want to lvl fast i say str tat and thats all lol.
oh yeah also i used to do pagans with a duo my pp and me i had +4 str -4 con and ic with 180 dark resist 150 holy FB with focus then oly zakan/ reg zakan oly AQ and reg AQ then frintz and i was crt for 4k on mob i added a bd i was crting for over 7k with stigma over 9k
Gatompalo is right. You guys are trying to convert your tanks into damage dealers. That's what Vanguard is for. If you need extra damage you should level up a wolf. Gatampalo's setup is on the money in my opinion. I have +4dex -4str, +4con -4str, Common DLE, +4 Keshenberk duals and a Majestic Heavy set on my Lv71 SK and I'm having no problems solo'ing mobs or PvP. Whenever I want to solo harder mobs with high p.def and higher HP, I summon my Great Wolf. Lastly, no sane person would go -con on a Dark Elf. Neither for PvP or PvE.
LOL @ A grade pvp. Before 76 +5 str/+4 dex is the way, unless you aoe. Other option is angel slayer since 68 @ woa -> no tats or +con and tallum set.
:rolleyes:I've PvP'ed with my toons from around Lv20. Anyone who believes that you have to be S-grade to PvP don't know how to play this game in my honest opinion. I can recall beating S-grade toons with my A-grade Storm Screamer or Phantom Summoner.
yeah thats a nuker and a summoner and was it againsted a s grade nuker or summoner i dont think so... but you try at lvl 70 win against a lvl 79 sts on ur sk then u come to me and tell me that u dont need to be s grade to have a fighting chance against that class lol. look the fun and great pvp is passed 76 cuz that when ur sk becomes awsome veng, TOD, sheild bash, smart cubic, def bubble, sheild of faith , anti magic and soon to be my skill pain of shilen now thats a awsome skill oh yeah and being able to + up r skills.

If you wanted to gimp your STR like that and have a lot of CON, you should have rolled a DA, not an SK. Your DEX tat isn't giving you much in the way of noticeable gain other than run speed, and that isn't worth the STR drop. Crit rate/block rate/atk speed are all negligible increases, even on +5 DEX tats.
Most sane people go -9 CON on SK for lvl 40-76, because they don't want to lvl at a painfully slow rate, or feed high rates of xp to a great wolf.
vidarr your right thats why i dont roll with any tatoos i like it thats way but yeah when lvl u dont need con cuz the more damge u can deal the more vr helps u and yes i know not every one has buff well then dont go any tato if u dont have a buff. but when it come to place where u need that con it doesnt hurt to - str + con sk do quit will with that set up more then most think but till i hit 83 im tato less for now.

LoL @ worrying about STR on a tank. It's a tank..... CON is extremely more important on a tank not STR. Especially on a SK.
This quote sums it up definitely.Don't you pvp?Don't you have to carry CP/SS/BSPS with you?Don't you get stunned?
And you're choosing what 200 more damage over all of the benefits of increasing DEX. I don't know what you're killing in this game but that's not a huge increase of kill speed.
You should refer back to my last post if you want to increase your kill speed. With my setup, I've been clearing 2 rooms in catacombs solo'ing. How fast do you kill?
And by the way, SK is my 3rd sub. My main class is Storm Screamer.
yeah i dont ever - dex ever thats bad u think oh well 2% less this isnt much but its alot more then u think... and like i said str tatoo on a sk is nice for damge out put but again u have hex posion and bleed so on high hp mob u pretty much eat the mobs like in the cata i used to duo with my pp and take two rooms and do it with no ss and keep respawn down.
but for pvp -str + con is great and for hb and other higher lvl areas where u need hp and to carry ss.

I disagree, the longer L2 is around the more people are seeing that Dex is the MOST over-rated physical stat. The loss from -4 dex is minimal compared to the loss -4 str gives. In my experience as long as you keep your Dex at 30 or more you won't even notice it's gone. But dropping str by 4, well you'll notice that in PvP and PvE.
Also want to add that a tank is a tank because of P Def NOT HP and while HP is important I would never nerf Str for con. I reiterate for PvE Tall Hvy and +4 Str -4 Dex and for PvP IC and +2 Con -2 Dex. Carrying capacity should not be and issue at this point in the game with weight belts and 79 bracelet and while stun resist is nice the difference between having 34 con and 36 con is going to be minimal. OE fortitude for power and get stun jewels is the best way to avoid stun.
i have the duals from my bd sub :P and well the blue wolf is not mine but i have access to 1 :) i just want to do it with less spending possible and thats why im seeing on the SK with vanguard that chance :)
I leveled my sk to level 79 90% with no dyes, +3NM set, Common Tallum*Dama. Just got my +4dex -4str dyes and now I am 8% away from 80. Dyes are not really necessary for sk in my opinion.
Hi to all, i will start a new sub SK and i need a few advices ^^
In terms of gear i have:
weapons :
+8 C weapon focus
+9 tsu*tsu
+4 dama*tall
armors:
full plate set
BW set
Tallum heavy set +6
Now my plan will be lvling normaly till B grade then vanguard till 75 i can have DC 78 buffs and a pp lvl 70 to buff also now my questions are:
a) what dyes i should use?
b) is it realy effective to exp with those duals?
Okay, You have all regular weapon and +6 armor set and you wanna know if exp with those duals are effective. I leveled with +3NM set, Common Tallum*Dama, with no dyes and now I am level 79 92%. 2 weeks ago I got +4dex -4 str dyes. And I am 8% away from 80 and I only played lineage 2 for 8 months total. Vanguard is great for leveling a sk, you become a dd in vanguard with your duals. get a GW too, they will be really helpful in sv. Before 61 I just leveled with Common armor set from Giran shops and Common C duals and Common b duals. At 61 I was wearing common DC set, didn't get my +3NM set til I am 72. But I had my girlfriend playing with me and she plays a SE so I always have buff and heals. And it works out great for us this way.

The only dye a SK should really use overall in oly is a +wit -int tat for faster cast LS/FS/Life Drains. CON should just not be touched because SKs are already frail and are w/o any real heals other than those coming from talismans/augments.
Smart! and true, but read what he was asking. He wanted to know about duals, not poles.
if he wants to lvl fast he needs to know about poles regardless if he ask about duals...
use the 78 DC but swap the 70 pp out and add a BD. if you feel like lvling a pet raise a buffalo for heals then pole whenever/wherever its possible.
use vanguard for boost morale + focus sword/shield when you are single target killing, tanking, pvp but then switch back as soon as your done buffing boost morale to utilize the tanks full range of skills.
when your done doing that, go pole more mobs.
WIT MEN dyes cannot be used on a SK, that was the problem :)
By the way.. As an SK I took the following tattoo's with surprising results:
+4 CON -5 STR
+4 DEX -5 STR
And my DC armor is already +2 CON -2 STR
So in total, -12 STR, +4 DEX and +6 CON.. call me insane right? Well.. not really.
Because of the +6 CON I have much more HP and it recovers so fast I can see it jump forwards! I can also carry more which is super handy on a dark elf.
The +4 DEX makes me fight faster, more accurate, more crits, run faster, better shield def etc.
Right know I'm grinding at Fields of Massacre, in the Vanguard stance with duals. I always attack those ghost groups. I used to only survive those groups by using HP potions (my armor is clean) and even then sometimes I died.
Now.. with the tats above, I survive those groups of mobs easily without using any HP potions. I now have more than 1/3 of my HP left after killing 1 group.
Yes.. I hit way less hard but all in all, having more HP which recovers super fast, fighting faster and hitting more accurate with more crits out-balances the -12 STR..

Strange but true.
well since +4 dex gives less overall dps than +4 str your actually fighting slower.
attack speed doesnt improve skill reuse time anymore so your not able to use any extra skills by +dex.
Str stat has to do w/ skill crit rate, so youve effectivly made you skills as uncritable as u can.
+6 con is just lol specially for a solo tank... you have more base hp true, but just because a dwarf can survive a mob w/ its high hp doesnt mean its killing fast. you would be better off fighting mobs you can already survive and killing faster.
DC heavy is by far the worst set in the game. tallum would be your best best same pdef way better set bonus, then majestic, then NM, then BW, then Doom, then ava/zubei, then plated leather, then DC if you couldnt get any other of those sets.
youve made yourself such a gimp DD just so you could survive some mobs you obviously had no bussiness fighting. you could have made more xp going somewhere else and actually killing fast instead of ruining your class to avoid dying and having to make up 5 minutes of low lvl xp.
if your only concern is staying alive then you should have made a TK or Pally.
they both come w/ alot more skills to survive and already kill slower so you wouldnt have even had to spend $ on tats.
i feel sorry for whatever partys ever invite you w/ this setup when they are wondering why your so horrible at holding agro and why dmg is bad even w/ a SK tanking
well since +4 dex gives less overall dps than +4 str your actually fighting slower.
Yes. But this is the difference between STR and DEX:
STR: Increases amount of physical damage.
DEX: Increases attack speed, physical skill speed, accuracy, evasion, critical hit probability, success rate of dagger skills (such as Deadly Blow), shield defense success rate, and movement speed.
Choosing to up DEX means you up many more attributes than just doing damage. Purely seen from the role of being a tank.. it means means I defend myself better now.
attack speed doesnt improve skill reuse time anymore so your not able to use any extra skills by +dex.
I never said anything about that, invalid argument.
Str stat has to do w/ skill crit rate, so youve effectivly made you skills as uncritable as u can.
NOT true. Yes, with -12 STR crits become less high. But the +DEX make them occur more often. Besides that, I didnât choose the +4 DEX for the damage but for the stuff the official Lineage2 site describes:
STR: Increases amount of physical damage. (is ALL is does)
DEX: Increases attack speed, physical skill speed, accuracy, evasion, critical hit probability, success rate of dagger skills (such as Deadly Blow), shield defense success rate, and movement speed.
+6 con is just lol specially for a solo tank... you have more base hp true, but just because a dwarf can survive a mob w/ its high hp doesnât mean its killing fast.
First of all, the role of a SK tank, in a group (is what Iâm building), is NOT to kill fast but to keep the agro on him, work his black debuff magic on the field and survive that. Lets see what the official Lineage2 site says what CON exactly is:
CON: Increases maximum HP and CP, HP recovery speed, weight limit, underwater breath gauge, shock resistance, poison resistance, and bleeding resistance.
So you say making CON +6 is LOL on a tank? With this CON +6, I practically cannot be stunned, poisoned or shocked. These are all types of mob skills a tank comes in contact with when taking on groups of mobs for his party. Itâs vital for a tank to have high resistance against that so I can hold the agro while most of my party members are stunned or shocked. And especially with the stats on my DC heavy armor itâs almost impossible to stun me now, and yes I do hunt allot of stunners at lvl 65. Again, this way I can keep the agro for my group, working my magic and carry more shots to keep on fighting etc.. So saying +6 CON is lol for a tank? Iâm sorry sir.. but thatâs just silly.
youve made yourself such a gimp DD just so you could survive some mobs you obviously had no bussiness fighting. you could have made more xp going somewhere else and actually killing fast instead of ruining your class to avoid dying and having to make up 5 minutes of low lvl xp.
You sir, sound like a loner. Iâm not interesting leveling fast but to be a tank for my group that survives mobs. A SK is not invited for the dmg he does, but for his survivability and keeping agro. +6 CON and +4 DEX make me a way better survivor. Doing damage is up to the archers, daggers and mages. So you say I ruin my class? Well not exactly. Iâm strengthening the attributes a tank was designed for! Survive and be resistant.. not to do brute and heavy dmg! All your talk of doing damage makes you sound like a wanna be dagger.
i feel sorry for whatever partys ever invite you w/ this setup when they are wondering why your so horrible at holding agro and why dmg is bad even w/ a SK tanking.
-12 STR, +4 DEX and +6 CON makes me loose my agro? You think keeping mobs agro depends on how hard you hit with your sword??? Besides being silly as you were you now are being funny.
DC heavy is by far the worst set in the game. Tallum would be your best same pdef way better set bonus.
Is that right? Lets compare:
Tallum heavy:
p.def: 278
Atk. Spd. +8%
Poison and Bleed Resistance +80%
STR +2
CON -2
Weight increased plus the point at which a weight penalty is applied +5759
DC Heavy:
p.def: 278
Heal +4%
Paralysis Resistance +50%
STR -2
CON +2
With a Dark Crystal Shield, shield defense rate +18%
You advice me to choose Tallum and then choose some shield to go along with that? Some shield that doesnât produce a bonus because I carry it?? On a tank??!! Tallum is designed for classes that donât use shields!!

Game moved away from a grade. All you really want to do is to get faster to s grade and for that matter tallum is by far superior set compared to any other a grade set(followed closely by MJ).
I don't know if you have any buffer however tanks has enough survivability for A grade. You don't need more so choosing tankish set is pointless at this point in game. On top of that vanguard + duals > sword + shield + hex by a mile, yes by a mile quite literally. Just make sure using judgment every time as it applies stigma effect as well.
Who I'm I? I'm have a level 85 ST. Even tho it's not main main anymore I still use it on some raids as my constant is melee based and it works way better for me being as tank.
EDIT: just fyi I have three toons, an 80 SK, 80 BD, and 78 PP (perfect trio) and on both the BD/SK I have the +4 Str -4 Dex tat.
enchant fortitude for extra stun resist and toggle it on when your a in a situation where u could get stuned... the is tons on anti stun buffs and items aswell.
i agree that dex isnt really worth all that much and -dex tat isnt really noticable.
at the same time con isnt as important as u think it is. weight belts, sets, 79 braclets compressed pack, pets, etc. can all decrease your weight.
i already adressed why stun isnt much of a factor.
as for HP i think -con isnt going to make or break you. there is tons of ways to increase your hp, again buffs and gear. having enough hp to survive 1 extra hit is not going to make u the winner most of the time. if your a tank and getting smashed down to no hp your prolly fighting something or someone that would kill you w/ or w/o your extra con.
w/ pain of shil, spirit of shil, lord of vamp, zaken, normal vr buffs/dance, bless blood, etc. its impossible to lose hp as long as your hitting something anyway...
i recently found that because i switch gear up so often depending on whats going on no tats seems to work best for me...
get yourself a couple sets of TW jewls and a few armor/weapon options and your good to go. even some basic epics are easy to get in todays market.
I never said anything about that, invalid argument.

" I practically cannot be stunned, poisoned or shocked." stun and shock are the same thing....
tallum set resist posin/bleed...... alot of sets resist posin/bleed w/ alot more % than +con...
you obviously havnt played much tank, most likely not much lineage2 in general.....
the over all bonus of +4 dex will produce less effect than +4 str... it will give you atk speed, crit rate, movment speed, shield def rate, etc... none of those bonus will add up to +4 str for kill speed... the shield rate boost makes no difference since w/ max lvl shield mastery skill +4 dex rate is such a small boost it means nothing, evasion on tank means nothing since your wearing a shield (-8 evasion)... when six sense triggers (+15 evasion) and im using a pole or bow w/o shield i still get hit. so unless your fightng blue mobs w/o a shield your evasion boost is pretty none factor on tank.
runspeed.... why are you running to mobs? you have 10 skills to pull mobs to u... is your party hunting in solo fields or somthing?
if you want runspeed for pvp use a runspeed tailsmen and a alcrity tailsmen, they stack for runspeed. you can also max runspeed 255 on your tank w/ proper buffs so i dont know what your needing more runspeed for since your such a party tank...
and you keep on saying dex increases success of dagger skills... are you using dagger skills on SK? how is that a factor?
-12 str in party does 2 things... 1st of all you slow your entire party down by dealing very little dmg. 2nd you do not vr much hp, so your healer has to waste mp healing you non stop. vr is one of the main factors for staying alive as a melee toon in this game. more hp doesnt make you more resistant to dmg... it makes you have more hp to have to be healed for, nothing else. vr is why alot of groups take heavy dds as tank instead of a real tank, absorbing hp from dealing dmg makes healing easier and you kill faster meaning less time spent on each mob taking dmg.
and yes -12 str does mean you will lose hate... your hate skills will anger a mob but you will need to deal dmg to hold that mob on you. especially raid bosses, you can spam all the hate skills you want but if your not hitting for anything that boss is gunna run wild after a while.
btw DC set really is a joke, use tallum equip a shield.... thats what shield mastery is for...
your reading definitions of stats off the lineage2 web page... those descriptions mean very little in actual game play. just because it sounds good when you read it doesnt mean it is good when you do it in game. reading the set bonus on a set and seeing its made w/ a tank in mind doesnt mean its the best set for a tank to use w/ the way the game is and the buffs are.
youve made the worst solo SK, a horrible party SK, a bad Oly SK, a pretty crappy raid SK, and not much of a pvp SK... so i dont know what your toon setup is built for unless its sitting in town selling shots w/ your +6 con weight guage... but then why didnt u just use a dwarf...
ive been the main tank or one of the main tanks for every clan ive been in for the past 6+ years... pvp clans, pve clans, killing epics, exploring new areas... ive tried tons of setups ive played most of the other classes in game at low and high lvl... im not trying to tell you somthing that will hurt your toon, im trying to help you be a asset to the game..
You see H4T3MONG3R.. -12 STR sounds ridicules and probably it is. But the thing is, I tested it out solo on taking on large groups of mobs before and after the tats in vanguard using duals. If those stupid crazy tats make me a gimp.. why do I survive the same groups of mobs way better without changing my fighting style?
And please donât tell me my style of fighting is wrong just because I choose to set some crazy tats and using Dark Crystal.
I don't know where nor how you exping but if you going solo you should be exping either in Forrest of The dead(from Rune) for levels 60-70 or Silent Valley(Aden) for levels >70.
I can't see how -12 STR + DC heawy is faster compared to alternatives.
At the end of the day it's your choice, you are playing it not us.
So purely from a perspective of tanking raidbosses or taking on large groups of mobs, the best tat to go is +4 STR -5 DEX? Because I can hardly see how one could go -5 CON on a tank...

I would only recommend +4 WIT -4 INT dyes for an ST because other than that ST/SK got pretty fine fine stats and you shouldn't play much around it.
Being level 85 ST in Vorpal set, properly buffed I've ~11-12k HP(without any dyes) which is more than enough for any kind of situation. Used to be in Moirai before and had ~10k HP(again properly buffed no dyes) and yet I couldn't feel a difference that my tanking abilities were gimped.
Now from tanking point of view. Fact is that you will not have to tank seriously till you are ~81-82. Once you hit that level good cardinal in your party will change much more than a + CON. Mobs hit hard there, 1k + on regular hits so extra + con or + dex won't make any difference. Yes it can save you 1 hit but as I said if you have good cardi you should never come close to that 1 hit.
The only reason I'm not going -CON on my ST is the weight capacity. If DE's would have just little bit more I would gladly go -CON and wouldn't care much at all. Said that only real dyes I recommend is +4 WIT - 4 INT because you have some skills which needs casting speed.

your style isnt wrong... your just choosing the wrong options for what your trying to do.
you want to better support your party wich is good, but that set up isnt the best for u.
physical attacks + hate skills will hold agro alot better if you do good dmg so -12 str isnt helping you to hold agro and +dex doesnt make alot of difference for dmg especially on a tank.
+con allows you to have more max hp, but it doesnt give any extra pdef/mdef wich is what tanking is really about.
DC does have shield def rate % wich in a round about way adds pdef, but the set also decreases your ability to deal damage so the %hp from dmg that vamp rage buff gives you doesnt give you back as much hp as it would if you did more dmg. -str tats make you regen less hp w/ vr buff for the same reason.
so even though you do have more hp/ faster regen your healer will still have to heal you more because you are gaining less hp though vr buff.
tallum is def the best set for vr tanking and has the same pdef as your DC... it also has +weight guage and resist posin/bleed. you can still use your DC shiled w/ it and your passive shield mastery will let you block quite often.
if you hunt alot of necro/cata and run into alot of stun mobs maybe majestic would be a better choice. it has +stun resist, +4% patk, and +str aswell as better pdef than DC. once again you can still use your shield effectivly even if its not part of the set bonus.
you should use a focus sword + shield when you do your tank stuff and when you solo or small party you can use vanguard and duals if you have them.
about your surviving mobs better now...
yes you probably do, you have a larger starting hp pool.
instead of 10 hits now maybe you can take 15 hits because you have more hit points.
but a better method would be to keep your str and just hunt mobs that dont hit so hard or arent attacking you in a large group.
ill explain...
say w/ +con +dex -12 str and DC set you can kill a group of 5 mobs, it takes you 60 seconds, you get 10k xp for each mob, you survive.... maybe u used some heal pots or have to collect herbs to regen hp afterward, maybe not...
but at the same time w/ no tats and tallum set you can kill single mobs they take 5 seconds to kill for 8k xp, you dont have to worry about death since your arent being attacked by 5 mobs at once and also you vr more hp.
so in the same 60 seconds you can kill 5 mobs for total of 50k xp or you can kill 12 mobs for 96k xp. so you see where killing more mobs faster for less xp could turn out to be faster xp.
sure you have to run from mob to mob, but also you would have to run from group to group.
im not saying dont kill group mobs, usually they are pretty good xp.
im saying killing faster alot of times is better than killing slower but being able to stay alive a little better. just pick monsters you can handle and kill quickly and i think youll be much happier especially later in lvls when mobs start to have alot of hp and killing faster is what keeps you alive even more than heal/hp.
if you killing slow it doesnt matter how much hp you have soon or later healer and recharger will run out of mana and you havnt killed very many monsters
And so Tallum with its +2 STR outweighs DC with its +2 CON and +18% shield pdef?
+8% attack speed, and the difference between DC -2 str and tallum +2 str, is a total of 4 str.
so 4 str +8% attack speed means you are killing 12-30% faster depending on what buffs you have. it also means your gaining 12-30% more hp from vr buff.
18% shield rate isnt much w/ your shield mastery... the game will never let you block 100% of attacks that come your way so stacking up on shield rate does help but youll hardly notice 18% more blocks unless you have a +20 shield so that the pdef bonus is a huge # larger than your armor rating w/o factoring the shield.
by the way i talk alot about vr. you get it from newbie buffer all the way to lvl 75 so you can always have it even if your w/ a buffer like prophet that doesnt have it.
also, if you use vanguard and only use skill attacks you wont vr hp. vr gives you a % of your normal attack dmg back as health so you can gain hp from jus swinging your word at a monster.
Ok guys, as advised I removed the tats and switched to Tallum. With the following results:
Making the switch turns out for the better for going solo and probably pvp as well. However.. I lost 1200hp going down -8CON in total, and get stunned way more often now.. so much itâs very noticeable. Losing the +4DEX didnât make any noticeable difference though because of the +8% attack speed from Tallum. And because I went up a total of +14STR I indeed kill mobs way way faster now and even have more percentage of HP left after killing the mob groups I talked about earlier. Especially now because, as you all know, Blade Hurricane is an AOE skill.
So again, +4DEX +6CON -12 STR plus DC armor with it's +18% shield def is absolutely perfect for tanking. One gets +1200hp extra  and almost cannot be stunned. But this is strictly perfect for tanking and not going solo because the damage dealt is low.. very low.
But for going solo more than going in groups and playing pvp? Tallum is perfect plus without the tats described above.
On a side note? Switching back and forth with armors and tats I realized after all the stats on a dark elf are very well balanced! I see no need now to take CON DEX STR tats ever again. The only tat I kept was +3WIT -3INT.
