Ok so im kinda sick of reading all this crap now, any one wanna do something about it?
if it worked for the "bot Group" to get unbanned can it not go the other way
this is what i think should happen
rather then ******** about it here, this needs to be sorted out. and the best way to do that is K.O.S every bot.
so post in your server forums and lets get a movement started!, if every one meet's up and rolls out even the strongest bots will be in fear. we could take over every server then NC cant even help themselves :)

You think you could take over? Do you even know who or where the high lvl botters are. have you ever been to Tullys workshop? Have you ever even been to hellbound? You have no idea what you are even talking about, so sit down, and shut up.

Even though I sympathize with OP... it is true... this is not the way to solve the bot problem, you will only be in danger of dropping your gear once the lvl 8x owner comes and kills you while being red.
Unfortunately it's not the random exp botters that worries me... the real botters are something you cannot deal with, no one but NCsoft can...
But your post is not bad at all, if you are willing to sacrifice some Exp and gear, then the move is to piss off the bot owners, make them come to kill you and get names, screens and video if possible. They sometimes don't care to admit they bot coz NC does not nothing about them (I can even tell some "famous" names that bot in popular spots all the time) but that's the real truth.
Another truth is that all legit players are afraid of loosing a valuable 4% and botters are not, and believe it or not, 99% of legits players are just a bunch of cowards or take the game too seriously. That's why they win.
Anyways... Gracia Final is coming and I've read there's a surprise for bots... let's just hope it's useful.
+1 to OP and effort of cleaning the game, but it's NC's job, not the community to deal with it. My advice... if you are not afraid of becoming red and loosin some exp, do what I do... whenever I want to exp in a spot I kill the botters and pray the -most of the times Adventurer- bot pimp doesn't come in a while. Or find another spot. But don't EVER forget to hit the REPORT button and open a /gm petition.

I feel your pain on the issue, but there's no legit way to deal with bots. I've tried killing them but I hate the complication of the sin eater quest. If they drop the negative effects of pk'ing then I'd be the first to join your crusade.
And for the record, the majority of us here hate the shoddy customer service, the overly secretive gm's, and the tons of cheaters that abound, but we still like the game and we have made some good friends here. That's why we stick around. But currently L2 is probably as supported as a TurboGrafix 16.
While I like your idea, I also realized it will not work,
You will see high level toons protecting farmers/cheaters etc, heros will come to your place to kill you and pk you, clans will make a war against you and any of your friends, you will reduce to nothing, because sadly botters are around us and probably are mayority by now.
And the worst thing in the end they will grab your gear that you dropped after they killed you and laugth at you.
Unfortunately, the above few posters are correct - the system that was designed to make PK'ing a serious affair (meaning not everyone PK'ing everyone else all the time [without consequence]) means that nobody wants to PK botters because it causes them a serious amount of work to clean the PK's/karma. Added to that the botters dont care, they just rez and continue the next morning or whatever.
Currently there's no way for legit players to fight the scourge without giving up their own game to clean their PK's and karma all day.
The picture in my mind of the 15 actual legit players from level 45-74 showing up in their mismatched gear to battle the heroes and strongest clans on every server makes me smile--it would be futile but hilarious!
Sadly I wouldn't estimate the # of players on all servers who have never ebayed or botted or used another 3rd party program assist at "about 100 players" (Rainman voice).......the "legit force" wouldn't stand a prayer of a chance :)
I'd suggest we drink a lot before starting this "war"--cause it ain't going to last too long, if you know what I mean.
PK with ng armor and your augmented weapons and you won't lose anything valuable but if i'm wrong then please fill me in .
And what... go back to town after pk the bots to get your good armor? What about karma? what about time? by the time to go back to town (that's if you have a CH and don't go to Floran) another -or the same- bots will be again in the spot.
That's just no sense... they should be banned and that's it.
