Today is a day when i feel i must complain about current situation in Lineage 2. This Game is nearly dead, there are bots all over the world, gms do nothing about them, just banning one or two bots for one week or so. You can ban me, my account and i really don't care since playing on retail doesn't offer any fun any pleasure anymore. I suggest You to start worry about Lineage 2 becouse You will loose your job. Dead games doesnt need gms, dev team etc. I know you can do nothing with this game becouse NCsoft headcuaters are in Korea but for sure you have more power, your suggestions will be more important for them, than one single player who didn't bot, didn't have 30 accoutns. I thought Aion will be better but it looks like N(o)C(are)Soft is just creating another paradise for botters and money sellers. Before game is even released you can find 3 or more working bots like ********. I have to say I lost my faith in NCsoft.
World of Aden is nearly empty, when i decided to back when gracia final ws announced and i were really shocked when all towns were empty even Aden and Girian, just bots in spots farming money for 24/h. This game can be even better than world of warcraft but You have to stare care about it. I'm playing L2 since prelude and I have some suggestions which will help.
- Increase experience to about 2x or 3x. ( Exping is boring for real players and this will bring you more of them, now this game is created for botting.)
- Stop this pointless banning bots. Just make good protection against them. Even private servers can succesfully protect from bots and they can't implement features of the game so it should be easy for You. ( This will bring You even more real players. NA servers have ~ 3k real players and 10k bots where one private server have 9k real players. What do you think which one players enjoy more ? )
-Make more Raid bosses, make them bigger, make more experience from them, make them more complicated and impossible to do WITHOUT TANK !
-Boost malee classes. Warlord, tanks are almost dead. World of Archers + support is boring. Maybe stop adding skill at 80+ lvl add some at 40+ or improve existing. Make tank a real tank. Archer can 4hit tank which is funny. I'm sick of archers party. No one wants glad, tyrant or warlord to party.

I know gms and adena sellers wont like me since I sayed they are doing bad job. But L2 is dying and it has the great potencial to be even better than WoW. Sieges, pvp, drama, fighting for bosses, living with clan is better than in any of the mmo game and you are just destroying it.

Perhaps you logged in to a server during the time when most folks were asleep, not to mention that the PTS is live now and many people are playing on it.
I mention this because my experience playing every day seems to be quite different from what you describe. On my server (Sayha) Giran is packed, Dion, Goddard, Aden, and Rune are all active...and you know that there are far more players out hunting than there are in town.
Yes, there are cheaters (bots, adena buyers, account buyers) and it is unfortunate. However, I blame this more on human nature than I do on NCSoft, some people try to succeed with laziness. However, blaming NCSoft for the existence of bots is akin to blaming the police for the existence of speeders on the roads. Sure they try to catch and punish them but the roads are not 'dying' because all speeders aren't ticketed.

Now think about this for a minute.
It is the role of someone to make rules and then apply them (in this case NC soft I guess) With trial and error you can achieve your goals. Sinve ncsoft makes all the rules and we have to aplly to them it’s only logical to understand that they don’t change anything cause they are pleased with the situation.

Stop banning bots? Are you crazy? As you stated in the paragraph I've posted above, NCWest are unable to make any direct changes to the game, including the bot protection. Everything comes from Korea. I'm pretty sure bot protection is pretty high up on NCSoft's agenda, so QQing about the lack of it is pretty useless.

Tanks aren't dead. Ever been to a raid recently? Who was tanking for you...? A wolf? If NC add skills at level 40 they would have to adjust the SP gain at lower levels because it's hard enough to get all of the SP you need at 40 to learn everthing (without buying scrolls). Also, if you can find an archer of the same level as me, who can 4-hit me (7x Paladin) then he's a rare gem, and I want to be on his side.

Ofcourse it's NCsoft game but its made for player not for bots, we are paying for it so we have right to demand protecion against bots, hacks and thiefs. NCsoft should care about this game so suggestions for games good should be welcome.
One more thing, 200 ppls on private servers is javas feature or so. There are servers on retail leaked off files which can easily handle numer of players that retail can. Unfortunatly I can't show you screens and advert any of server so I can't prove it to You becouse it's banable. I know about 10 big server which has about 5k ppls on one server and their network mostly have more than 2 servers. Every town, spots and even newbie areas are full of ppls, real ppls !

It's sad.. ppls doesn't care about games good. You just enjoy botting and support botters. That is the reason why private servers are better and even community is more adoultish. I can only have hope that CT2.3 files will leak and i will have possibility to play in l2 with real players. BB bots and best wishes to the non botting ones.

the thing ive discovered about the game - the people who say they only play to pvp really mean they only play LIVE to pvp. and even then, youve got pvp programs coming out your yingyang.
this game isnt about pvp actually. if you notice the gracia update, your pve is all instanced. so much for the "pvp anywhere" concept of Prelude, eh? this game is all about pve. people only pvp to make their pve easier. yes, thats right. you own a castle for why? to get castle bsoe, collect taxation, control seeds. you do this 1 time per 2 weeks. for 13 days you dont pvp unless youve got a war going.
but what does war bring you? nothing really. not a thing. oh, credibility maybe. but even then can you really be credited as a great pvper if youve got more pvp programs than you do pve programs?

Nothing of what you originally or subsequently posted suggests you ve ever leveled a toon beyond No Grade on retail. MKay???? So you 've either never played retail beyond a 7 day trial or you bought toons, choose which applies and quit your whining.

Well, i know almost nothing of warlords, but are they so bad? They seem pretty fun to play...
About the skills chart, a bit of a renovation wouldn`t hurt, i think; the problem its the balance in the game...
About archers: i love have them in party, best exp over time i have its with archers (my main is a sws 6x).
About gladiators: my gladiators friends are quite good to party with them, i think gladiators are a very good adition to a party.

Yes, L2 could be more apealing to new players, if it wasnt so croweded with cheaters, but seems to me that NCsoft is a bit clueless what to do about the cheaters that ruin the good name of this game...
Nevertheless, its still the best mmorpg in my opinion.

You can ban me, my account and i really don't care since playing on retail doesn't offer any fun any pleasure anymore. I suggest You to start worry about Lineage 2 becouse You will loose your job. Dead games doesnt need gms, dev team etc. I know you can do nothing with this game becouse NCsoft headcuaters are in Korea but for sure you have more power, your suggestions will be more important for them, than one single player who didn't bot, didn't have 30 accoutns. I thought Aion will be better but it looks like N(o)C(are)Soft is just creating another paradise for botters and money sellers. Before game is even released you can find 3 or more working bots like ********. I have to say I lost my faith in NCsoft.
World of Aden is nearly empty, when i decided to back when gracia final ws announced and i were really shocked when all towns were empty even Aden and Girian, just bots in spots farming money for 24/h. This game can be even better than world of warcraft but You have to stare care about it. I'm playing L2 since prelude and I have some suggestions which will help.
- Increase experience to about 2x or 3x. ( Exping is boring for real players and this will bring you more of them, now this game is created for botting.)
- Stop this pointless banning bots. Just make good protection against them. Even private servers can succesfully protect from bots and they can't implement features of the game so it should be easy for You. ( This will bring You even more real players. NA servers have ~ 3k real players and 10k bots where one private server have 9k real players. What do you think which one players enjoy more ? )
-Make more Raid bosses, make them bigger, make more experience from them, make them more complicated and impossible to do WITHOUT TANK !
-Boost malee classes. Warlord, tanks are almost dead. World of Archers + support is boring. Maybe stop adding skill at 80+ lvl add some at 40+ or improve existing. Make tank a real tank. Archer can 4hit tank which is funny. I'm sick of archers party. No one wants glad, tyrant or warlord to party.

Spud makes a good point about how L2 isn't actualyl all about PvP. The PvE side takes vastly more time in the week than the PvP, unless your'e already lvl 81+ and don't feel like XP'ing anymore , or youre in a PvP clan that wars everyone they can.

Reducing an enemies XP by killing them is something I enjoy with a great Euphoria.

How can the game be nearly dead and there be bots all over the world? I'm not in favor of bots but make a different statement to complain about the bots because stating the game is nearly dead because there's a ton of people playing is not exactly something that most people can understand.
And, the GMs are doing something about the bots. NCSoft are doing lots of stuff against bots and attacking them in various ways. In game bannings and IRL leagle stuff.

Yea... Always the same, kids blaming ppls who already wants to change something to be better. It seems that you can't play without botting. You got bot instead of your brain. You think You are "moah pro" than me becouse i want grind for real at 2x rates and you dont care becouse your bot can do this even on 1x.
Explain to me why changing something you don't like will make the game better for the rest of us ? A somewhat arrogant assumption.
I actually enjoy grinding in an area for a while. It's how the game was designed to be played and you can learn how to play your class better.
I play L2 for escapism after work. I don't want to level up to S80 in a few days or weeks because of excessive exp rates as it takes away the challenge, the addiction to do just that little bit more.
I understand your frustration over bots. They're like a virus. All you can do is pk them and/or report them. I do both and, recently, GMs have acted on my info and removed several "bad users".
if you think this game isnt dying, you havent been playing long. servers didnt merge for fun. ncsoft killed this game by gearing it all around a secondary market ( those dimensional merchants are for selling game items for real world $$$ oh yes look on lineage2.co.kr) if koreans wanna play like this thats upto them, but we dont.
Well I to have played since open beta Prelude off and on and I gota say the bot problem on my server (old lionna) is very good. I hardly see any. I was fartin around in Outlaw forest yesterday when I saw my first in ages...let me relate the story:
I was training up my hatchling in Outlaw Forest with my DWARF main (lol yes its true) when I see a female dwarf runing around killing mobs near a ruined building. I go on about my business and keep an eye on her as you never know she might just try to wack my hatch (man they did that alot back in the day anyone remember?). As I spoil and stun my way to riches and train up my Hatch I see she has been running in the same patern for about an hour no diviation...hmmm....I'v never seen a bot alone so I carry on.
Then I get the crazy idea she must have a real good spot to be just running around the building like that I gota move in on that action. I put my pet away and recharge everything and start working the mobs in here lil spot..there was plenty to go around so i guse she never said anything to me.
A lil while later I see a human training his dog I, we say hello to each other.
Then I see the lil dwarf woman is stuck on a corner and getting killed by a large amount of mobs....I run to help 8)- .......well she dies and attack the area removing the mobs strategicly. I finilaly get to her posistion and rez her with my last rez scroll..oh well keep the pet unsummoned I guse in the name honour.....she just stands there not moving....I ask for money for the rez or a scrioll to pay me back (Im a dorf after all) ..she just stands there not moving...I ask again kill spawning mobs...she just stands there not moving...hmm....it hits me, she never spoke she did all the same patren for an hour......*****Z is a bot!!!!!!!! I havent seen one in ages!
Needless to say after all that effort I beat her back to the stone ages and went RED....
hehe lesson learned If you got a problem with bots just start kickin the hell out of em. I had a blast and the human near me screemed and ran in terror as he saw me RED and thought I might go after him too. lol!
Go RED kill a bot from time to time its hella fun and rather Viking in style.

Private servers got 9k online? Totally ********.
Most of them got max 1k online.
MOST OF -- thats the key word. well there aren`t more than 10 (and i suppose that not even 5)that have more but...
c5 server(rated x7) started 2 weeks ago now it has a 8k ppl cap (full most of time) and it will be increased when new server mashine arrives. number is 100% confirmed every castle had over 10 clans registered for first siege (some even had 20+ like aden).
MASS pvp karmian/plated leather(that needs to be crafted in old way) sieges are fun i tell you. dont need vesper/icarus and 83+ to have fun. but if you want to farm for it that`s your choice GL and HF ;p
anyway - have fun on retail doing pve all day and night.
waiting for a new server with easier exp sp and stuff (even with no vitality) or at least no bots. Server that won`t end up like luna. Honestly only l2 server i seen bots on is retail. sad but true.
I wouldn`t be writing that if i would play since prelude and now have char around 80 and be able to do some pvp/sieges. but it`s impossible without bots or without LOTS LOTS LOTS of time put into game to achieve this.
this game has already been improved in gracia don`t say that its bad to RB or something i find it really useful and fun, all it needs is easier exp(i mean much easier like x5 w/o vitality) (for god`s sake not on existing servers make some new and let ppl enjoy their chars here in the way they are, i see many ppl want to stay as it is but every1 agrees on bots...) and no bots. if you think private servers have some sort of magical ward against bots, you need to buy my oceanfront property in the equatorial ring on mars.
1. bots dont level on a pvp server; reason is theres too many live players that will PK before any progress is made.
2. bots cannot make money on a pvp server such as the one youve suggested, primarily due to reason 1, unless you count instanced levelling. but even then you have to do a real catacomb for a while to earn the items for rifting...
3. theres no code anywhere that prevents a bot from connecting to your server. you can encrypt it however you please, there are bots that do decryption by force-**** and other means.
your private server is not free of bots, in fact i would wager that the first 200 people or so used a bot to make it to 78 for your server, and are the current people holding castles, and with full S grade sets unsealed.
think of it this way: EVERY mmorpg on the face of the earth has bots. nobody can dispute that. AOC, Aion even has them and the game isnt even out yet, WH40k, you name it, theres a bot for it.
its HARD to prevent bots.
by the way, not everyone enjoys pvp. i for one would find your server much like trying to make love to a woman on her period. more difficult to continue the further in you get, no doubt the areas to PVE in are camped by hundreds of people willing to take your exp away.
sort of the reason why i am still 74 on live. bit too competitive yet to go into the S grade hotspots. maybe next update i'll do some mos farming and questing.

people are making money from retail. people dont make money from free servers. therein lies the issue. when its free, you can make another account and nobody cares. when you play retail, you dont ban your players unless you know they will come back or you know you can make new players pay money to come.

GM/Dev won't lose there jobs because bots are providing them the income (like you said bots all over the world).
It makes sense for a GM to not ban every bot because they want a easy job and they feel they get a stable income by not banning them where as if they catered to you and I they'll have to answer every question you present and such yaddah yaddah.. And be scared of losing there jobs because a legit person can decide to leave any time.

and if some1 is caught botting on private i doubt that they will be returning for the same server after losing their stuff etc., and its not only acc ban. its IP ban (well some ppl have changable IP anyway but some not;p)
It's sad.. ppls doesn't care about games good. You just enjoy botting and support botters. That is the reason why private servers are better and even community is more adoultish. I can only have hope that CT2.3 files will leak and i will have possibility to play in l2 with real players. BB bots and best wishes to the non botting ones.
So in all your huge amount of time on this official set of servers (lol), you roll up a post from your log in date of "April 2009" to post the same EXACT set of complaints that a bunch of other players (who also suspiciously did THEIR post the first month they were logged onto forums) have posted.

We've seen it 3-4000x before. Supposed player with a forum account of 1 month with your exact same post. Almost verbatim--only the log in name changes in substance.
I'm not saying you are "wrong"--I'm saying you (and they) are plants. Either from private server owners who want to constantly discredit the official servers or fans of competing games.
Go back to your cupcake private server or WoW and stop posting annoying drivel on a forum for a game you don't have the stones to play.

Wow, people are still using this stupid argument? Do you even know how it works? There is big money is defeating any bot protection for official servers. There is practically none for doing so on private servers. So, all the private servers need to do is make a small change so that the bot programs don't work. NCSoft does this, the bot programs change immediately. It's real simple.

Why crack private server protections against bots? there is no profit for do it. On official there is! NCSoft released protections against bots, BUT it get cracked in some days again. Because bot = buisness for real currency. Simple as that.

Today is a day when i feel i must complain about current situation in Lineage 2. This Game is nearly dead, there are bots all over the world, gms do nothing about them, just banning one or two bots for one week or so.
Really? When I thought Super Mario Bros 3 couldn't push the envelope for me anymore I cashed it in. Press the boo hoo button for this person. If you don't like it turn it off.
Edit I got to thinking more about this. If you went to a diner or a pub that served horrible food and booze each time you went. And you would always go every Monday and Wednesday of the week for years. And you hated it. Then each time you go you complain to the wait staff. Then you're offended that they don't fix it the food to your liking. Moral, if you don't like the meat and potatos, don't buy it.
Woo, just came back to L2 TODAY after like what 6-8 months? and i see this doozy of a page.
well let me tell you, i quit Lineage 2 multiple times, Not permanently. but because i had other things in life to do. So lets get that out the way first.
i like to see myself as a very frank kind of guy, and willing to see the truth in most things even if its something i enjoy, including Lineage II. Does Lineage II have a bot problem? to a degree, yes. But since Gracia Pt. 2 the bot problem has gone down a fair amount , at least for me personally. and i usually say Hi to people around me in the field just to see if they are human, and wow surprisingly every one has replied to me.
Lets compare L2 to another MMO Silk Road Online, ill put it this way, you can't even get ON the servers because the bots are so rampant that they take up over 3000 players PER server out of a good 20 + servers. the difference with SRO and L2 is basically SRO is free, but if you wanna say L2 has a crazy bot problem you a very inexperienced gamer.
Hard EXP? i admit i used to have extreme frustration with gaining EXP, im still 66 and when i logged in today i got a super depressing msg "its been 5 years since this character has been created" .. wow i am totally not getting any younger am I? but im sorry to inform you that with vitality Instanced dungeons and basically raid bosses for everyone kind of changes going on, my SK last time i played jumped 8 levels in 2 weeks, and that wasnt even hardcore playing. I don't even have a clan or anyone i know in game anymore, that was almost all soloing, maybe you should try harder or the opposite, relax a little.
Empty? well i dunno about you but im surrounded by people where i am, i dont even remember the **** towns name cause its been too long goddard possibly, but a buncha people are there, No i don't talk to them cause im an anti social little SK, but im not in a barren town. does L2 need more people? hell yes, but NCsoft does not push to advertise their game, t heres no official advertisements being put up or featured in heavily popular places like youtube or on google or something its just, for whoever finds it can play it. (by heavily popular sights im not refering to popular MMO websites either, L2 needs to reach out to the people who wouldnt normally attempt to play like WoW does by showing off fancy 3D CG videos on major websites and on TV)
GM's can't afford to care too much, why? simple Korea makes the decisions, theirs no hey korea can u do this for us? that just wont happen, In Korea L2 is still pretty populated, the games design is based off of these numbers and we get the content with stuff that is more difficult for us to do on NA servers, IMO i feel their should just be 2 large NA servers.
well that is my omg just came back to L2 and already smashed in the face by drama moment, Im now clanless roaming the fields of goddard trying to get to 70 + and im not doing a bad job of it. if you hate L2 so much, just quit. L2 is in need of some improvements in many departments, I personally wish the movement system was freakin controlled with W A S D clicking makes my brain explode with anger.

Maybe you got bot except of brain. I dont even wanna argue with such a dumb ppls. Everything You saw on retail is botting and you think its the way it has to be. Have you ever played on priv ? No ? for one month on java with 200 ppls ? So please find another topic to show how enormous your e-***** is. I thought its better for NCsoft to have 30k of real players who can bring frieds and help this game grow up instead of 5k bots with 6accounts who are selling money on ebay and shows that this game is not worth of playing.
Maybe l2 is better and has bigger community but 90% of them are on private servers and ru and indonesia off for free. Look at l2.ru its free, its almost bot free and it has plenty of ppls even from my country.
I don't even understand half of this jibberish. However, I never thought that's how it has to be. I've always thought they should and can be doing a better job. Unfortunately that ship sailed a long time ago. It's done, it's over. I quit a long time ago, partially because of the cheating nonsense.
Stay or leave, it's entirely up to you. They aren't going to change anything. It futile to think they will.
It sounds like you're advertising for these private servers. It also sounds like you'd be much happier at one. Why aren't you?
