So, my room mate rolled a WC on the PTS. When he used Steal Essence he said he would recover HP, because it is a drain obviously, but he would also recover MP because he "dealt" damage.

Basically you could nuke and nuke and nuke.... and your MP would NOT go down.
Is this making it to live? Because if it is I think Im rerolling an alt LOL

Sure is making it to live if the PTS is at all consistent.

Pretty mad skill when coupled with the new MP regen, and no doubt all the WC's will be extremely happy!

That's right, now Steal Essence gives you HP and MP.

It was about time, WC were very underpowered! Mostly useless and expensive buffs plus nobody wanted them in party. So with this small boost they can now at least solo a bit better.

Thats funny, my OL on the PTS only got MP back from regular swings, Steal Essence Returned HP, but I never got any MP back from it only from regular swings.

Or an OL? I will post on this later, if this is the case. It definitely should not be this way.

Am I the only one who thinks this is overpowered in pretty much all areas of the game (PvE, PvP, Olympiad, Raiding)?

Looks like they'll be the new top solo class, in Robes no less (OL Especially, with their seals).

Then one or the other is seeing things. Both classes have the same passive MP VR and the same Steal Essense Skill, unless NCSoft coded something to make it apply to WC and not Overlords. I'll check after the servers come up...

I'll reroll second sub to WC to check that.

Let me see if the PTS is up to try it out...

Myth. I tried it on a WC sub (PTS) and saw no appreciable mana regen. OOM'd quite fast.

Is it something they're supposed to get later? because steal essence at level 40-42 wasn't doing it.

OK, I checked the PTS. You dont recover MP when you use Steal Essence. Either my room-mate was lying or they changed it:(

ask your room mate if he hit aka melee mobs in between as that's confirmed to help significantly in mp regen on orc mystics now

doesn't say anything about mp in the skill description

Inflicts non-attribute damage on the enemy with 108 Power added to M. Atk. Absorbs 80% of the damage as HP.

Even subbed Orc Mages.
I can't decide now HVY most of my leveling, which I use now on Varka
I'm halfway considering a Tallum HVY or DC light

Arghh Flippin NC is going to make go through everything :D
I guess we're going to be runway models and different outfit for a different show lol

Anyway can't wait to try this out

Depending on where you level you can probably get by with Robes.

An OL will definitely be able to level with Robes since they have the MP VR Passive and Soul Guard for when things get tough; being better healers than War Cryers, and having Seals with the absent of mana issues due to MP VR...

This is also mentioned in the official patch notes here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=200956).

I think general attack is considered a melee attack without using any skill. For example, the fishing poles are described as "not able to initiate a general attack".

So this is all a great misunderstanding, Orcs won't rule the world - yet!
