Ok... I'm about to become 77, and I haven't done the pailaka quest. I was wondering now that soulhounds skills are faster to use (a lot of mp consumption) any tips on finishing this quest?
My current setup and help is:
- Apella Light Set (I know, crappy, but that's what I have.
- +4 Laeviaten focus 150 dark (that's why I can't have any other pretty thing ^^)
- Majestic jewels
- My good old friend Apolo (72 fenrir, with crappy gear)
- Lvl 74 SE with btb3
I've read the guides and tried to do it when I was 74... but I had to soe out before I died. Some questions I have now are:
- My weapon, spear or bow?
- Things I need to buy before starting quest (and plz don't tell me to get a Drac LA XD)
- Tips on dragon (being a Soulhound ofc)

Enter it without finishing a few times and get 30-40 QHP and invincibility pots.
When you face the final boss use an invincibility pot when the attack animation starts. I did that with a bow and my hp bar didn't even move :D
You don't need to use the quest weapon anywhere.
Remember you can exit (soe) to get buffs, healing and recharge and re-enter before the mobs respawn in, I think, 90 minutes.
Also remember that you vitality will be restored to maximum upon completion.
So I need to enter and get the potions... and wait for the time to finish?? Coz the mob u killed don't spawn again until you start the quest all over again... but do you get to keep the potions?? that'd be awesome.

Yes you keep them. I gathered 80+ pots from the antelopes over a few days, so the rest was like a walk in the park. :)
I finished the pailaka yesterday as level 73( reached 74 after the quest). You need to do the instance a few times without killing the boss ( don't abort the quest, that will make you lose all quest items). Every 90 minutes the instance will respawn and you can get more items. Kill the irrelavant mobs like the antelopes etc, they give you a lot of easy extra QHPs. For barrier mobs use the spear, for the boss use your main weapon and spam Checkmate. I died once at the boss though, partly cause i wasn't concentrated , partly cause i don't have a very nice gear. With 150 FB you might be able to kill the boss with just close range melee and Checkmating it with Sword Shield up (**not sure**). The boss is easy to drop but he hurts like hell for soul hounds. Also keep painkiller available at the boss and keep a few elixirs just in case things turn bad and you need to retreat though.
Spear should always be used for the barrier mobs, aka the row of guards. Ive done this quest on multiple toons, even a handfull of robe supports, and as long as i used the spear (and the skill that comes with it), I had no trouble killing the guards.
For my EE I tried using a friend's 7x Fenrir/greatwolf, mostly coz my EE is -10 str. That was by far my easiest run, and wc/pp buffed the pet didnt take too much dmg either, just put some ghp's in its inventory. It should be easier for you since you will be 2 ppl hitting, my EE only healed when I did it.
