Right so Myself, the hub, and other various friends all decided to take on a raid bosses there was about eight of us.
Of course I tank. (:P I like tanking. Im in the action yeah!) Well come to find to out we all got our ***** handed to us.
Most of us were all lvl 30+ taking on a 34 RB.
How many peeps does it take to take down one of these things. This is our second legit attempt and fail!

You can't be too high in regards to teh Raid boss that is being done or it will either para you or it will not drop anything in the end and kinda make xp go down.
To be two levels higher is a good avarage to take on bosses.
Juliana, Spudnik made a good point with his remark. Unless we get a view of how ec-xactly you have done the boss it won't be easy for us to give pointers.
I do lowby raids on a regular basis but have a specific way of working. SO knowing what yu had and how it was supported or set up it will enable us here to give you some pointers ;)
What I find out about low level raid bosses.
There is jump ~28-29lvl. Before raid bosses are quite easy and later there is much harder.
Also I don't think that it is good idea to tank raid boss with character which level is lower than raid boss.
Best level differences:
- tanking character: 8-7lvls above raid
- damage dealing (also nukers) characters: 2lvls (because it affects drop rate)
- support classes: any in raid boss level requirement range
Btw: equipment and buffs have big influence in raid boss take down action.
the buffs will solve more then likely any problems u had :P
usually ppl can solo those low lvl bosses with sg weapons and uber buffs , so yeah i dont understand why u shouldnt be abel to kil lthem with a grp of 8

Read Spud's post above for some basic rules, especially point 6.
Melee characters tend to work better, because you get free VR 4 as a newbie buff. Nukers tend to run out of mana. If you want drops, the DDs must be 3 levels higher than the RB, the rest should be as high as possible within the limit. Also, some RBs are tougher than others of the same level.
So it is not easy to give you any specific answer, because of the multiple possible setups. What did you have and failed?

basic raiding rules:
1. the tank MUST use Hate skills AT LEAST 4 times prior to ANYONE attacking. the healer will heal as sparingly as can be, then everyone can start killing once the 4 hates have been used.
2. there must be ONE player designated as the Assist. everyone makes a macro like this:
line 01 /target "Assist"
line 02 /assist
and the player who is designated as the Assist will be the ONLY PERSON to change targets. in a raid with minions, he chooses a minion and when everyone uses the macro written above, everyone should be able to assist the Assist and pick minions off easily. usually in a healer-minion type raid, youre going to need to pick off healers first.
3. bring potions, scrolls, and necessary consumables. at higher level raids youll need as much support as you can get especially if youre all melee. healers under level 56 will need Mana elixers, or spare healers to switch in. try to bring crowd control and cubics; most effective melee raid cubic is the Phantom Summoner Mass Debuff cubic. most effective all-purpose cubic is Elemental Summoner's Life cubic (this is the same cubic as newbie cubic). best raid tank is your Temple knight for superior survivability with Hate cubic and Life cubic together.

8. never never never never never never never never never never never never NEVER run around if you are hit by the boss. take the death. Tanks cannot always keep aggro, i know, but running around and not allowing anyone to damage the boss is actually making it harder to kill. dont do it.
9. never underestimate the Hate value of Songs and Dances. DO NOT USE HATE _DURING_ Song/Dance routines. leaving a gap between swings by using hate leaves time for hate to deplete and focus to turn to S/D.
10. have an emergency escape ready. if you used Ultimate Defence at the beginning of the raid during the 4 hate rule, make sure you have Party recall handy for use. if you managed to not use UD at the start, make sure it is ready to use in an emergency situation.
most raid parties dont have many melee as raids tend to go slower with them; well, that was true until around the time Gracia Final came out. try to find as many Destroyers as possible for your raids, and NEVER mix melee and magic/ranged.

it might be looking like it but for holding such spot all u need to do is assist ur MA , so we look like a bunch of people atking same mob cuz its the only way to stay in that spot .

i been playing since c-3 and i got my stuff pulled together to be able to hunt there , now u might did something wrong if ucant do the same .
No as of yet. I was pushing for 40 now trying to get up into 42. I spent all day yesturday and early this morning going on the long 2nd class transfer to become a shielian knight. It was a painful process if you didn't start them at lvl 35 like you were supposed to.
Hopefully soon when I get everyone back together We will go ahead and try to mob it again. If not shear numbers will take this thing down. *Grins*
And its odd how this thread became a spitefull one. I do hope they stop there ******* contest its making me look funny at what they wrote. :P
Well I did the very same thing with my Shiellien Knight back n the days :) I prefered to do the three quests simultatiously by taking all the parts that were in the same regions which made me gain time in the end :)
I'm sure if you took note of the advices given here by some of us you will manage. If it's on a day and time I'm online and you need a higher tank give a shout :) My SK is sitting at 46 for raid purposes so always willing to help a hand ;)

I'm there since OB and never changed server, I seen MyFist start out and grow, I assure you he's followed a quite normal path for a C3 player.

the grp isnt lead by me , and u wont like the grp cuz one of us pickes up all the loot so yeah u wont be getting much out of such grp , just organized clan stuff
