Hi guys so I've been playing this game for years and I hate to admit it but i have never made it to Sgrade. I have plenty of Agrade toons but it seems like soon as i hit 68 or so I find it almost unbearable.
Now I really want to hit Sgrade on a couple of my toons. I know most have one main but I have two and I play them equally. Now what I'd like to know is how in the hell do I get to Sgrade and then after that? I know most prolly have 76+ toons so if anyone could give me tips on getting there I could sure use the advice.
best advice i can give you is don't screw around
i play my main and only my main, with the limited time i have to play each week i do nothing but grind

+10000 Concentrate on 1 char and do it. Get him 76+ sub him if you want to enjoy other classes. Trust me now you wish to lvl up as much as possible and enjoy the new oly system, i droll looking at the players there and it makes me like comment to them non stop :D Dam tanks who never UD in time or send panther in front to get slathered
So there is lot of fun at high lvl so concentrate and get there, from 68 to 76 you can do it in a month, casual play, with no pit stops for quests (sub quest) once your 76 get 3-th class quest done and then "relax" and do sub. If you have several chars 61+ you should know what of them you like playing best (don't go dwarf and only go tank if you rely like it!)
Also, at 68 you can totally join any group of higher levels in your clan/friend list. Try to make a party and hit catacombs, woa or HS... you will find that you get more exp in group than soloing. Ofc, exp/mob will be considerable reduces, but exp/time is more valuable.
I.E. Angels in WoA can give you 100k exp if you solo them... but thats a hard thing to do... and if you are in a good party, they will give you 10k-15k but you can kill 15 mob if you are on a good party, in the same time than you kill 1 by yourself... My advice: try to group more :)

Most people will not want a 68 in their group unless it's a needed support, singer, or dancer because...

This is not always the case.

You will get slaughtered on basically any class trying to solo those things at 68, and you'll prolly die within a buffround of getting there because they are social and have insane agro ranges (especially for a level 68).

Anyone killing Angels in WoA does not need any help. I'd say the same for ToI. A low level character can be more of a liability than help becasue of the damage they take and the crit rate that MOBs have on them when there is such a level difference.
My advice is to go solo in places that are appropriate and roll some buffers (SE for a Nuker, PP for a DD at least). It's easier to get them in level range when you are low level. Good time to take break up the monotany and level an academy toon. Orc Mystics are easier to level than Dark Elf and Human Mystics, so a WC for a DD will take longer to get good buffs, but will be easier to level in range of your main so that you can level it in party.
Game is too old and too dead to try to be a hardcore groupie at 6x.

.
I could soloed that at 65 :p Was doing decent exp/hunt h but on elder homunculus the only - was missing rate combined to the m.atk they do was dangerous so was irritating. But the thing that made me stop hunting there was not so much missing on mobs it was geting agroed by war tags in S grade (was thinking "wtf are noobs doing here at 76+")
Ok.. since you made the effort and took your time to reply to my post I will reply to yours... ^^
Most people will not want a 68 in their group unless it's a needed support, singer, or dancer because...
That's why I said Clan/friendlist... I dunno about yours, but in my clan when some class (either support or not) needs help, we help him.
This is not always the case.
Duuh... ofc it's not always the case, but in this case this is real, and I was setting an example.

Ofc... again, it was an example... and btw, a bd in our party once wanted to make a test, and we supported him so he could solo the mob, and he didn't get slaughtered... he got his 100k but he realized that my advice was worth it.

We are trying to maximize experience, not to proove that you need or not help. I will rephrase to see if you can understand this time: At lvl 68 you can get help from your clannies to take you exp in a higher lvl place, such as woa, mos, catacombs, etc etc... You get more exp/time killing fast in a good party than soloing high exp-rate mobs.

My advice is totally the opposite... If you want to make S-grade, forget about alts and forget about soloing. If you already have a buffer alt, use it when you cannot find a party, but if you can, go exp in places where you can kill mobs really quick and non-stop (hs and Woa are great exp places)...
Game is too old and too dead to try to be a hardcore groupie at 6x.
Another false thing... it all comes to clans/players... we still have hardcore 6x parties that lvl up really fast in AL for example. The difference is that at 6x you can still solo effectively, but not as much as in a well built up party... and at 7x you will maximize and ease the grind only by making a good party.
All this is based in my honest experience and with the sole intention to help you out, since it took me long to get to Sgrade, and now, leveling above 76 is not so hard at all and has become funnier.
@op: not enough information. We ll need toon class, supports (ie have any) gear etc.
It would make 0 sense for me to tell you you can do 68-76 in a week and a half if I m talking about a nuker with 2 rechargers whereas you 're a dorf on alacrity and haste :S

As mentioned, stick to ONE char and sub after that if you want to play other classes.
I played many of chars but not one managed to get to Sgrader unitill I stoped with my silly alts and played ONE char, that is basiclly the secret.
Sgrade is not that hard these days. So gogogogo :D

Ok well I have a 60 pp that i can box. I have a Kamael with Durendal and Maj set.
are you looking for places to pve or is this a rhetorical question?
honestly i am amazed at my own self for the work i have put into my tyrant. it might have been about November of last year when i was 64 and on a high. i only ever got to 52 on a couple of characters before that, and it seemed like a wall. i hit 64 with the help of some friends and i was taken aback. me? 64? incredible. well, we got vitality soon after that and i literally smashed through levels after that. playing from full vit to 2 vit most nights of the weeks after that, i got to 72 sometime around Christmas when we got the santa event. i look back on it and i am still amazed as the levels blurred into each other.
in any ase 72 was the time i decided i needed some buffs other than herbs because the grind was slowing down considerably; i made a WC, got it to 53 and instantly grouped myself.
now, i am 74.8020 and 62.5000, exping 3hrs a week (2 days of 1.5hr grinding sessions). i sincerely think 76 and above will still be quick.
if youre looking for some speed-levelling suggestions i can give you only one tip: increase your kills per hr. i was making about 90kills an hour on herbs only in Blazing Swamps, single target hunting, not AOEING. piddly exp maybe, but it was fookin fast and pretty cheap.
i'd suggest you try to use your AOE skills to your advantage and find some tank to pull stuff. it will be fastest on 1x hp mobs.
The one truth is Play One toon exclusivly for level. When you realize how much time with no level is given on other toons, you realize you could be S grade and then some.
the vitality system and other changes has made the grind to S a bit easier. The real important thing is to make sure you are in the right area for your toon type and your level to maximize your leveling. If you are in the wrong area or killing too slow or using too much shots and time, it will kill you and your leveling.

78+ is where the tears will start to roll. It's certainly not quick anymore by even 77... I chew through the mobs at Varka, and ToI like an absolute demon, especially after the update, and I still think my xp bar is going backwards. I tend to retreat to my subs _-_...
Edit: To the op, you will generally get more xp solo-ing, which is rather unfortunate. There are a few exceptions. Like if you can form a solid party for high levels of ToI, high Catas, or when you get into your 70's get someone to sneak you into Pagan's. Perhaps even IT if your party is brave enough. This all takes set-up time and a group of seriously committed players. I know for sure, I simply don't have time to completely commit to a constant group (before that term became 'dirty'). Solo/duo/trio is fast set-up, gives you more options below high 70's, and offers more consistency.
That's definetly my problem is tons of alts and rerolling alts or i'd be higher lvl than what i am and all those deaths cuz i'm squishy doesn't help but i'm having fun with game so S grade i'll cya when i cya and i'll never wear those useless capes they look butt ugly in all the pics i've seen.
IT'S A BIRD , IT'S A PLANE NAW IT'S SUPER ELFY LOL that for some is what S grades all about these days lol being a caped crusader in a fantasy game. bat-orc and robin the dwarf got superelfys back i heard.

ps. thanks for all the replies guys.
You might want to check out swamp of screams. It has been changed and much easier for the DD types. Should be easy for you to hold one full next solo. The xp per mob might not be there, but kill speed is very fast which = good xp per hr. Plus more letter drops ;)
My 2 adenas.
I have find out myself that you can not go forward pretty fast unless you make following decisions:
- don't care about vitality,
- find descent spot to level and don't toss between spots
- grind grind grind - I know it is boring, but is most effective way these days
Ok, after gracia final release, some parts can be changed.
if I can only spare 1 hour a day to lineage 2 exping then I prefer to exp at 4-3 vitality than 0 vitality. i will exp 2-3 times faster this way.
btw I am getting 79 in about a month exping at the current rate, only at 3-4 vit each day.
imo it's good enough for duo box play.
tried to find a party no body wants so its the only way in this great game it seems.
It is true when you exp only 1h per day.
But you need to remember these things:
- at 76+ vit level drops twice faster
- such exping will take little game time, but quite many days to level up.
Max vit (4lvl) gives x3 exp boost. Level 3 vit gives x2.5 boost. Let say that in 79 you can exp in vit4 and 3 (which is wrong - yours vit drops so fast). So that hour equals to ~2.8h of normal grinding without vitality.
If (and only IF) you concentrate only on one character and can afford 3+h per day better don't care about vitality and just grind like old way. Also on login you will have begin of 2vit.
Nobody mentioned here, that strong clans have one more opportunity: kinda palaika quest each 4hours if clan have fortress or castle...! Fortress and castles became even more important.
really? what if one exps 2 hours? would you prefer to exp at 0 vitality for 2 hours or at 3-4 vitality 1 hour? getting exactly the same result?
I would only consider vit0 exping if I was going to exp 4 hours a day or more, or if I could exp in some good party spot.
If you exp in a party at fog or hb then vit drops in like 10 minutes and then of course you don't want to even think about vitality :)
But you need to remember these things:
- at 76+ vit level drops twice faster
but mobs do also change in the vitality decrease rate, it seems to diminish at higher levels so net effect is that you still get about the same xp for vitality. I have recently discovered for example that if you level at reddish mobs at the middle IoP rather than on the whitish at lower IoP, you get much more xp per 3-4 vitality bars.
- such exping will take little game time, but quite many days to level up.
yeah but still if not using high vitality, you will spend much more time for the same result.
for the record I was talking about duo party, solo it will take much less time for depleting vitality and it could be unreasonable to rely on it.
By the way, the number of people in a party (who still gets some xp) increases the amount of xp you get until vitality depletes. I would run with 3 boxes (4 char party) to get even more xp per day but then I'd look like a bot train so I hesitate doing it :)
For that I say:
If (and only IF) you concentrate only on one character and can afford 3+h per day better don't care about vitality and just grind like old way. Also on login you will have begin of 2vit.
true... that's pretty much about it, there's no secret on leveling... and if you have more than 1 hour a day, forget about vitality... you level up faster more time with vit 0 than 1 a day with vit 4.
best advice i can give you is don't screw around
i play my main and only my main, with the limited time i have to play each week i do nothing but grind
Well, you also have 13k+ posts here :D OMG.... I can not imagine having that much tbh....
You could have become lvl 85 if you hadn't had that many posts :p
set ur personal little goals 2-3% a day easy obtainable in 1-2h that s the way i do it slow but 1 lvl a month is ok
log a dwarf for afk shops when u work to gather some gold for s grade and shots
give yourself little goals like 1 lvl a week till lvl 70 2 weeks each for 71 72 73 palaika and so on
btw i guess with 68 u can still do the 61 palaika gives good exp and vita 4
u need to play like this 150 element wont come overnight thats pretty sure and its realy hard work and takes damm long
83 i cant even imagine how much REAL playtime u need for such a char
ok, well i picked the main i'm going to focus on and not worry about any other toons. he's only level 62 but i enjoy playing more than the others by far.
Im gonna take your advice and focus on making goals and grinding a specific percent each day.
