Main reason, I will honestly admit it, was because the female light elves/dark elves looked like out of Lodoss War (think it is even the same artist) :o
One sunny day i went to a friend and saw he was playing this mystetious game with a female dark elf in knowledge set(which for me then, not having seen all the other awesome sets was like:"OMG!"), it was the first online game I ever played.Of course I started with a female Dark Elf.Hats off to the marketing director of NCsoft who made the developers design the most advertising character in Lineage II :)
PS: You should have included: "Foxy Dark Elves" as a possible answer :)
Plain and simple, **** and slash. I'm more of a PvE guy. I like to enter an awesome area or zone like a total noob not knowing anything about the monsters, drops and geography and little by little dominate it. Level up by killing monsters and become stronger until I can come back to that first monster who totally kicked my behind when I first entered and say "Hey look whos back!!" and overkill it. I'ts just a rewarding experience. I like questing from time to time but I don't like games who are completely based on it.
i came from lineage 1, back when it actually had players and regular events/updates.A shiny new graphically updated version of l1 couldn't be all that bad!
2 years on a private with instant disconnections, invisible wall's everywhere, showoff GM's that liked to pk lower lvl's, and then the CIA deleted my lvl 71 SR, and lvl 60 sps, fully equiped.
I thought... "never again" and bought a retail account.. lol
