oly requirements for getting tokens

Hi, someone knows what are the minimum requirements to get tokens in olympiad? 9 matches (1 win)? 5 matches (1 win)?

9 matches - 0 wins = 20k tokens.

afaik you don't need any points either to get your 20k tokens, can get them at 0 points.

That's good news. Gives me some reason to get Noblesse, even though I know full well I would get utterly rolled in any Olympiad match. Can't compete against all those ebaying, boss-jewel-wearing, 150-element-toting dudes out there. Not to mention with 400 ping it is pretty hard to PvP in general (Try selecting a moving target with 400 ping some time ... I assure you L2 becomes an entirely different, and frustrating, game. Its network code was written for low latency servers in Korea being used by locals, not servers with people from all over the world. It has some shocking glitches and inability to cope with high pings).

So the fact that I can just sign up, get butt kicked 9 times, but still get some tokens, is nice!

exactly, it's a very good change to motivate every noble to get in olympiad, because you will get something from it at least now

You need 9 matches to qualify for the 20,000 tokens at eom, that's it, 9 matches not you need 6 cb, 2 open and 1 3v3 or whatever

I asked because the patch notes has this under the 3 vs 3 part so it was little confusing.

also afaik there is still a typo in game where you have to click the 3v3 link to register for the 1v1 open...

i never did oly prior to this change, even though i've been noble for a really really long time

Last month I went in with naked Sts and Arcana lord in heavy, just to pass out some free points and check out the new system.

Arcana lord did 10 matches, Sts did 9. They both lost all, and both got the same amount of tokens, 20 000.

Someone on vent got a bit more though, and that one had won a few matches.

No, getting more tokens depends on ranking above 50% in your class based on the total number of points you have at the end of the month. It's worth trying to win matches ofc...

Hero - top toon = 180 bonus points + 120 points = total 300k tokens.
Rank 1 - Top 1 % - 120 Points awarded (120k tokens)
Rank 2 - Top 10% - 80 Points awarded (80k tokens)
Rank 3 - Top 25% - 55 Points awarded (55k tokens)
Rank 4 - Top 50% - 35 Points awarded (35k tokens)
Rank 5 - All participants below 50% - 20 Points awarded (= 20k tokens)

I ended last month on two char I was just trying to get matches on, one with 12 points with ending rank 3rd out of 4 total competitors gave 35k tokens - so somehow it was over the 50% mark? don't understand how that worked but w/e. Other one ending with 15 points got 4th place out of 10 or more total competitors and also gave 35k tokens; this surprised me, must be all the others had really low or no points. My main in 2nd place of 4 total competitors got 55k tokens (top 25%).

Other good news is no matter how many points farmers farm they will all get the same reward for hero as anyone else, 300k tokens, whereas used to be their total ending points gave them 1k passes per point on top of the 300k for getting hero, so some farmers could get A LOT of passes. And ofc used to be you had to get 50 points to get any reward at end of month (50k passes), which was not easy and discouraged a lot of people from even bothering with oly, so the system is pretty generous now.

Also the maximum points you can lose from any match now is 10, which helps diminish the gross imbalances that could occur from just one oly match between high pointers that used to transfer a lot more points.

If you really think you can farm for more points, feel free, but if you aren't sure, it may be best to just sit on whatever points you ended nine matches with and see how your ranking turns out at the end of the month.

I didn't understand how that worked either.
I had 4 wins/5 losses, scored 20 points (came in the 5th in the StS class based competition), and I clearly read that I got 20 points awarded... and 35k tokens.
Obviously there must be a typo somewhere... and yes when you sign for a 3v3 "team match" you go in non-class 1v1, and vice versa.

opens questions about how the ranking is calculated - where in the percentile between the top scorer and the 0 pointers the person falls, and then for the people with same number of points, more wins ranks them above others? or some other mechanism...

You were most likely over the 50% mark with 12 points because lots of nobles feed their points out until they're VERY low (like 1 or 0 points).

Kanaeda ... what you posted is wrong. Copy pasting and making stuff up =/= knowing.

Tokens are given based on total noblesse performance not class based performance, the percentiles are across the whole noblesse that did 9 matches, not class specific

You can be hero and be well below the top 1% ... you can be hero and get 180,000(Hero Bonus) + 20,000
