Does the new bot button actually send reports to GM team? It can only be used once every 30 mins, and when theres 20 bots in a small area there is no time to even report them all in a day.
Are bots still going to be banned or are we forced to only use the in-game button and deal with them ourselves?
Some questions I think many of us have; would be helpful if staff could tell us what to do.
When bot button was introduced, one of the GMs told us to use it instead of petitioning. I'd really like some answers from the staff about the issue. Do we still have a community manager who relays information to users from the Dev Team?
It's a shame, NCsoft tried very hard recently to get new users into the game and old ones back. If simple things like this cannot be solved, what even is the point?
I am of the opinion that we have to go back to putting names in a petition again. The button is way too retrictive now. Or we have to go thru the even slower means on a support ticket. Makes the having the button pointless now.

This is my point. The bot button was created to make it easier for players to report bots, rather than typing out the ridiculous names like IIIIllllIllILLi. We cannot use the button anymore like this, only once every 30 mins, 6 times a day.

Don't get mad. I'm the one who wasted yet another 2 minutes of my life reading a thread that didn't have to exist, thanks to the Search function on the forums.
You could also have read this sticky (which could have been found through the search function, or just looking into the appropriate forum):

P.S. Hope the bot reports work for you. I've done probably 200+ as well as several reports at the support sight and nothing, ever, happened to them. The only time I've gotten a bot banned was when the person told me in chat that he was a botter (I had posted screens of this happening long ago, he got banned soon after I sent them to NCSoft on support sight). Other than them willfully admitting it (NCSoft can check chat logs to verify), <LAWL @ Bot Reports>...

The thread by Mistryl is over 2 years old. The game has changed very much since then, including the addition of the bot button, so I am hoping we can get Moxie or someone to reupdate Mistryl's thread with new information and post it somewhere visible, as it is an important issue.
idk but I hit the bot button on 2 bots out in Forsaken plains yesterday and within the hr both were gone >.> and they had been there 24/7 for the last week from what I was told by several clannies/allys that go out there to farm Kail's coins and Inferium ore.
If you see bots and want to report them use the regular /GM command, with so many people abusing the button they cant keep track on what is right or what is wrong.
They said they would monitor it but I guess that is no longer a fact.
IMO report bot button doesnt work and neither do petion. You can report each day the same bot and 2 months after he is yet there, always at same spot, always in the same bot party trying to lvl from 81 to 83 to sell account...

/gm basiclly opens up the petition window, so instead of opening then meny the press the petition button, one just write /gm *name* bots and the petition window open with the written information

Couldn't you give us 9 Botreports? Then we can at least report the whole Bot train and not only one of them. Or do you always check his complete party at reporting time?

no thanks.. bot button only works once every 30mins.. no point to use it
/gm its a pain, have to run behind the party to target each one of them and copy the names correctly just to get an automated reply at a random time after your petition
support site... again, all the work with the /gm case, but on top of that you get an automated reply saying you should use the bot button... pointless...
in all, a waste of time...

dont report them, pk them. its what i do now. reporting dont work, but if u wanna waste ur time, then go for it, gm's get probably 100 reports an hour from each server, doubt they can check em all, especially since ppl can now abuse the bot button. and there is only what? 6 active gms for all the servers? honostly just pk. ive had this one time when i pk'd a room of bots in DO, then about 30-40 bots came out of nowhere and tried to kill me. /bsoe to ch. lol. i took a screenie but dont wanna upload it to a site then post and all, since i gotta sleep now :P

yeah, I saw some I reported go away. A week later I saw them back in the same spot I reported them... Kind of defeats the point if nothing ever happens to botters, doesn't it? I feel sorry for the new people on the L2 project. They inherited a doomed game. It will never grow again because no one did ANYTHING to combat bots for so long even people who have never played no what a joke this game is in that regards. Most of the legit people left a LONG time ago and about 99% of your active end game player base has violated the EULA.

You can be in denial all you want, but if you are considering your end game to be 83+ you would have to struggle pretty hard to find someone in that range that is legit. I am not saying there arent any just that the mas majority of the end game players in that range are not.
