As your #'s fall, you'll both be merged at some point. Maybe not with ech other--but with someone.
Sure, some of you vehemently do not want that while others will pee themselves with glee over the thought. We learned the first time that what you actually want means nothing.
If you like your slightly smaller server "the way it is" you are just screwed.

Nobody is going to change NCsoft's mind, and have you noticed its only ever Teon showing medium-heavy load recently? Don't be suprised if something like all US servers being merged actually becomes a reality, and luna & franz probably forming a second Euro one. The fact some servers are east/west coast doesnt matter as a merge just means a database merge in the merged server location.
LOL you think Bartz and Dev are dead no LOL would be worse if they merge. I know lots of people who would walk away from L2 if this happened. Not to mention the clan hall issues. Just not a good idea you end up loosing more real players than gaining with server mergers.
On second thought go ahead and merge the servers then I will have a good reason to finaly quite L2 for good. Unless of course if happens after DiabloIII then i'll already be gone.

I sincerely hope you are right Kruken. Unfortunately this passionate argument was already made 100x before the first merge.......the servers that were merged had it happen anyway.
And some did, indeed quit. And there is no evidence a bunch of former players flocked back. And the Clan Halls went up to 'first-highest bid' and those who could call off work (or didn't work) were first on to place bids and got them.
Didn't even slow the merges down. Not player upset, player threat, player loss, player demand...nothing made a difference.
If you like your server the way it is then I hope you get what you want. Experience suggests that at some point the remaining unmerged servers (and some already merged once, perhaps) will see a merge.
Not a thing you can do except participate in the choose-the-name poll and go with it or quit.

~D~ True I guess it really doesnt matter anymore with the addition of server transfers. Even after the mergers Teon is the only se4rver that is anything other than light.
As far as the clan hall issue from last mergers. It was definatly doable if you took the time off and had the adena to get one. However now with the adena cap rased there are alot of clans that wouldn't get a clan hall and im sure they would all be bought up for higher than most clans can afford and then show up on Ebay or many other sites out there for RL money.
I don't know maybe I have just gotten sinical of the years of playing L2. Just seems to me from the changes thoughout the life of L2 that this game doesnt really cater to players as much as it does to RMT.
In the past 5 months i tried several classes, in several servers.
The servers that i played more (about 3 weeks each; yes, its few time) was: Teon, Franz, Phoenix and Devianne.
And my conclusion is that:
Devianne seems to me quite alive, in fact, for me, its the best server, because i can find parties, in the clan and out of the clan, without dificulty, and (this is very relative) seems to be the most friendly community overall.
Im not saying the other servers are bad!
Devianne simply is better.
because a forum join date is most definitely the same as when you started playing the game. Fail some more. Check out the forum name, ------, and cry some more.
same with Aria as Kain server was quite dead and now it's actually better then say Bartz with regards to overall server activity, still not even remotely close to Teon or any of the Euro servers though
anyways this won't happen as like the last time if any merger will happen it will be between those at the same physical location so yeah mergers are only possible between Bartz + Sayha+ Aria and Phoenix & Devi

There might be some issues with Bartz, I know recently on Devianne a large clan/alliance started moveing back to Devianne from Bartz. I don't know how they did on Bartz but they are moving back.
