[PHOENIX] Reported a few bots today through Petition and the report button. I got positive "macro" replies stating that:
Indeed the characters in question are bots

(Petition and reply around 9:00 AM GMT +1)
The bots "disappear" and we don't hear from the GM what's been done to them.
A few hours later they show up again, so I'm like WTF
We will look into it and if they are indeed using third party software we will take strict action

Less than an hour later they show up again, so I petition again.

But this GM didn't even remove the bots, the other 2 GMs removed them faithfully but GM Raptor apparently didn't bother with them at all.
Now there are a few questions:
1. Why are the bots returning after even a few hours, even though it's absolutely 100% certain they're bots?
2. Why did GM Raptor not take any action at all? Because he knew they'd be back in a few hours?
3. Don't GM's have the ability to lock down accounts for days/weeks/permanently?
4. Why did they all reply with stupid macro's (Even though I was the first in line with petition, and it wasn't busy at all)
5. Why do I have a limited amount of petition numbers? If I'm faithfully reporting bots without any doubt and haven't abused any petition whatsoever (If I did the **** GM's should have PMed me)
6. Is it absolutely pointless to report bots at all if they're so carefree about bots or am I being assumptive here?
Yes, these questions are all aimed towards the GM's and/or community manager(s). Feel free to add your opinion.

P.S. The macro's were longer, but L2 doesn't allow CP and this is as close as it gets to getting the point across.
Edit: Whatever the case I'll just keep petitioning them, it takes me a minute or 2 but at least it's being looked into, at least, I get a macro reply. Even though I ask GM Raptor to give me a talk for a minute or so he doesn't respond to that. It's too bad the GM's are so formal about it. Furthermore, they respond in less than 2 minutes, so it's not like they got a lot of petitions to go through (Not at the time I petitioned anyway)

I've reported the extreme botters in HS on Teon and they just don't give a **** about them, they will reach lvl 80 really soon...

Well the first GM took action for sure. There were 4 bots grinding a small area for 30 minutes or so, after I made the petition, GM Tom got rid of them. I don't know what he did, but at least they weren't at the spot for a good 5 hours at least.
Only 1 got back at that spot later, but the other 2 GM's didn't do anything about it.
I'll patiently wait and hope that some moderator or community manager will respond and lighten us up about how things are done.
I'll just keep spamming the petitions and bot reports as much as I'm allowed for as long as I can unless told otherwise here or in-game (I doubt a GM will have a personal conversation at all but oh well).

Sounds like they banned the bots temporarily to make you happy. Maybe temp bans are a new policy? Unfortunately, that would just tempt more people to bot.

The reports provided in this thread gave me alarm, so I looked into these petitions this morning.
First, the response from Tom was the same as the first response from Raptor. The only difference in the communications between the two GM's were that Raptor later sent another response, which was again similar to the others. None of the responses in these petitions confirmed any player as a bot. Action was not taken upon the players who were reported in these petitions. I would not normally provide this much detail in any situation, but it is absolutely unfair to our GM Team if events are not communicated accurately to the public. Additionally, the information given alludes to the "temporary banning" of bots. This is not our policy.
Petitions are limited by the number you can submit in a day to prevent abuse of the system. This was not arbitrarily introduced into the game, but rather, a needed change to the system based on historical activity.
Players who are reported as bots are investigated. Every report is investigated. The results of these investigations are not disclosed in petitions.
This thread is being locked, as it has already bloomed into a flaming flower. As has been stated, these types of threads are circular and the same pieces of information and opinions are repeated between peppered insults and accusations. I appreciate the efforts to create a constructive thread, however, this is not one.
