The patch notes list a lot of related quests but no npc to get them from, so do they automatically appear in your quest log?
You're just automatically given quests as you go. At the end you talk to the territory manager in town and he gives you badges (not sure on what determines the number of badges you get at the end though, I got 29)
How do you find the catapult?
The fortresses with the catapult have one of the quest markers placed on them, it's easy to find once you break through the fort's door.
Do you kill any npc's or just players?
Don't remember any npc's, but lots of fights with players from different territories
Did anyone get an S grade belt? I saw a lot of C and B grade belts in hero shout lol :p
The problem is the box where you can get the C/B belts are 7 or 8 badges, while the A/S belts were I think 70 badges.
badges aren't tradeable (they're with your quest items, and are territory specific as well so we'll get clans trying to control certain castles to keep building up their badges) belts are tradeable though.
It was a ton of fun, we had maybe 50-55 players in our cc, most factions had at least 3 parties rolling around. I'm with divine on pheonix so we were defending goddard. We used our rune ch to nab rune's flag. After we got that we were counter-attacked by the rune faction (including nova clearing us out as we spawned inside of the castle) we regrouped outside of the siege-grounds and stopped them (nova wandered off to aden I think, not sure) from taking both our flag and the rune flag.
We were then attacked by at least 3 parties from CD (can't remember their territory off-hand) and both sides threw bubbles all over the place which made the fight a lot of fun as well.
After that we left two parties (I was in one) to hang around in front of the castle to guard our flags (once they're moved they stay where they were dropped) while the rest went to mess around in other territories to see if we could get more flags in the last 30min.
Overall, it was a ton of fun and you need a lot more coordination with parties. You need to balance defence and offence and quickly move players around. Plus you need to stay on your toes for attacks from different factions although the average rushing force was smaller than at sieges.
wow nice:D Sounds dam great.
Did you notice any non clan people participation?
Do the quest just pop up and you get them finish by the simple defense/attack related actions or ? Pls don't tell me there are quests like kill 10 enemy's etc.... i am a clanless tank so that kind of stuf would be hard:(
I noticed some quests that were along the lines of "kill a 61+ tank" or "kill a 61+ mage" but I think they might have been party based.
I recall seeing one or two people who were signed with us but were in random clans I didn't recognize, so most likely boxes/alts or something. Also, with the disguise scrolls it changes your name and hides your tag, since there were people in clan who used them it was hard to tell who was one of our guys and who wasn't when we were running around as a group. It's also surprising how quickly you forget a party member's actual name when they use a disguise scroll, so you have to refer to them as "goddard guardian" (in our case)
What about xp loss, friendly fire, etc? Where were the combat zones situated? (around castles/fortresses or somewhere else)
Castle, and Fortess grounds were PVP Zones, No XP Loss unless you weren't signed obviously.
You can kill your Clan's Wartags's anywhere as you would normally, but if you killed an opposing Territory off siege grounds you would go Red if they weren't flagged.
Temporary alliance with all those signed up under the same Territory, so a lot of people who were normally enemies actually worked together during the Territory wars.
You could buy Transformation which allowed you to hide your name and clan tag, or even appearence for the territory war so that you can pretty much participate in all PvP, and no one would be able to know who you actually were. Which I think is a great thing for Neurtal clans to be able to get in the Mix and not feel worried about someone warring them after.
My PoV. Its a hell lot of fun, at the begining we was a little lost in what should we do, but its easy to find out whats going on. TW is like a castle siege but without all the politcs and rules and limitations that the normal sieges have, its a big and funny totall mess, anyone from any territory can come and try to steal the flag and drop down the catapults at fortress, so you cant imagine who will attack you. And the transformations that clean your name simple make you avoid all the crap politics and drama after sieges, you just go register disguise and kill at will.
Important points:
- You must get the quest at the mercenary captain, and the quest dificult increases as soon as you finish one.
- You dont loose XP at siege grounds but you will recive a small quantity (maybe it can be larger depending on how many people you killed eTc).
- You dont need to kill a person to receive the pontuations but the game keeps providing you some stats on how you helped your party whe a target goes down or you die.
- After the TW you can receive some badges from the territory manager, and buy some good items, become noble, etc.
- Basicaly to conquer a territory you need to drop the catapults at the territory fort, and play the capture the flag at the castle.
Still lots of thing must be learned about this new battle.
And the transformations that clean your name simple make you avoid all the crap politics and drama after sieges, you just go register disguise and kill at will.
There is no L2 if there is no drama! Back in the old days after a sige period you had the flame threads to read at the morning coffee
Any way glad they introduced some more masiv fun to attend to it, to bad i will miss the first territory war on Teon :o
So.... how many badges could a "badge farmer", you thing, can do ? Rely need to get noble this way, not kin on doing 75 sub and noble quest.
oh, also you get xp from killing players at least on siege grounds. Plus, I was on a siege ground as the tw ended and I got a free 500k xp. I was on a 73 sws and got maybe 2.6% with lvl 2 vit, but a raid boss also wandered by our two parties defending at goddard so we killed that and got a bit of xp (started with a G, gordon?)
As for badges, I got 29 and everyone in my group got 28-30. I'm not sure what factors into how many badges you get but if you're getting into a lot of fights through the territory war you should be able to get noble with at least 4 territory wars.

My trader dwarf left in sellshop in Giran town got 525k XP just for being online :p
You need to be 62 ot get badges, also only 62 and above kills matter. This is the conclusion i reached studying some facts.
You get about 3 badges per kill. We got 18 in my party of a very small clan in Franz.
We got 750k exp, i see some ppl got only 500k... Also at some moments we got some few 100k, like 900k in total.
A char in party which was level 61 did not get any badge. Even tho participated in all operations. So you probably have to be level 62.
I made a quick calculation with the small resources our small clan has (just 3-4 friends playing a few accounts) and we can do like 100+ (each person) badges in a war if we are lucky and facts gathered in this mission are true.
You get fame for being in war zone.
I managed to make 150 mill by selling a c grade regular pouch belt i got from the 18 badges.
Some party member managed high b one for 21 slots, that will sell probably at 400 mil.
Overall, it is great for small clans, we will no longer get all money from forts, we will sell stuff to ebayers and botters that cant be bothered to be live for TW.

Nope. Lvl 53 alt which was rotting dead on siege ground, with no party and no own kills still got 17 badges at the end of the territory war (clan was signed up).

i wonder how its calculated, because my alt that was dead get 13 badges.

Hum, that is very interesting... Our dead level 61 spoiler, which, btw, was not dead all the time and was even in castle defending while in party, got no badge at all...
I think there is something amiss here, will make 2 parties next time and conduct each differently to extract as many info as possible.
We shall see...
M
Everyone in my clan got 17 badges.. level didn't matter.. and my WC stayed dead nearly the whole time.. so im not sure what affects the amount of badges you get but i know for sure my 44 OL got 17 badges
What level do you have to be to actually have some fun with this? I'll have my zerker up to 71 by next TW on Bartz so I'm wondering would it even be worth it?

All if they stated quests that involve 61+ chars i am shore that is the lvl you should be. Is actually the recommended lvl to start participating to masiv pvp. You wont do much diference but you can have fun, especialy if your in a clan and part of a party etc.
Hehh you should participate for bagdges only if nothing else:)))
i am clanless, friendless level 78 spell howler with se 78 and bd box and decent S gear, can I still participate? suppose I sign up and buy anon potions, will ppl take me in party or something? if I accidentally score a couple of frags solo in all that, how much badges do I get? and if I score none?

You can participate. You don't even need to buy anon scrolls, but you prolly need to take a mercenary quest, and then you will get 17 badges... no matter what, I guess.
If you do the quest that come up while you are on the field, do you get more badges? I am trying to get enough badges so I can have my WC become a noble.....
I am prepared to do the quest and my clan is signed up to defend a castle, so if I am reading correct, I will get 17 just for being on-line for the territory war....that is good, but I want to maximize the number of badges I can get.
Not participating territories FTW!
They are still listed in the Tracking info. Players go to the fortress to destroy the catapult (heh it's part of a quest), find themselves in front of the fortress, clueless. Other players from another territory arrive, they believe they've entered a combat zone. The hot-blooded ones flag, real PvP occurs, people with real -% xp cry.
Excellent! Good design. You have to go to every Mercenary Captain to know if the territory is taling part. Easy, logical, truly a good point they don't use the World Info > Territory War Info tab to inform players, because otherwise you wouldn't have to do the GK dance.
We did our first Territorial War this weekend. It was hella fun. Though at first we basically had no idea what to do, we figured it out fast enough. The most pvp that's happened on Bartz in a while ^^
All I know is that I kept getting a good amount of xp/sp throughout the war, but I have no idea really how that happened. We captured like 6 or 7 Territories, and I now have so much +wit I hardly know what to do with it!! My base casting speed went up 112 !!!
The only quest I actively took was from the Rep Mgr in Aden for the s80 cape. On there it said you can only credit for killing level 61+ players for that quest.,,

I'd have to agree! It was totally a blast. Granted the first half most of the people that weren't in big clans had no clue what we were doing but towards the end there was some fun pvp going on at dion tw.
Props to the SS from another territory and the GH that teamed up with me against that STaker and Adventurer party. "shoulda fraps'd it!" :D
ps. btw, can someone please explain what, as guardians, are we supposed to be doing during a TW? I mean defend the territory is a given but are supposed to go attack other territories?
When bugs strike, we humans QQ.
Who's fault is it? Ours for being sensible and caring (and bears)?
WTB Insecticide spray.
Yep, Dion on Teon was wrong or something.... lost 1% there. but no biggy i made like 200+ mil out of TW and cashing in some more if i sale last junk so was worth it :D
But being a clanlles neutral to it wasn't to much fun more of runing with no purpose trying to do somthing.
Did any one get more then 27 badges at it? Was what i got and i didnt get the catapult.

RRR Teon is fulll of people who would pay ridiculous amount of cash on new stuff. So i decided instead of saving medals for noble to postpon that and just cash in, made pins/belts was lucky on them and sold a high one for 200 and still got like 150 mil worth to sale so if it sales TW got me a lot closer to my desired FB then i was befor it:)) Was worth 2h of runing randomy and dieng to ITT:D

So you can take the medals and buy stuff with them?! See, you learn something new everyday!
I am referring to badges (don't know why i said medals in the previous posts) Yes the territory manager ofers the option under quest to get your reward now (the badges) and also ofers to you option to buy stuf with it, from pin/belt/pouches boxes to even items. BTW there is no belt above B yet... or at least not from TW manager so not worth saving for it. And also boxes can fail when you open them but can also give X2 rewards (i got from 2 boxes 2 belts -c/b and also 2 pins from another one c/b again).
When you try to unseal a pin it can also fail but can also become high or even top.

ok well i'll ahve to try it out cuz i got like 17 badges yesterday (standard amount?)

There is a C/B grade belt box *and* and A/S grade belt box in the list. The A/S grade belt box was 40 badges I think (but yes, there is an A/S box).
- for this event if some things will not be fixit ><
it shoudt make u red if u kill unflaget enemy member outside siege field + loosing %
i dont care about loosing % but many low levels players( including new) will probobly cry when they will be 1shooted by "s grade+" player
hide name shoudt hide ur name on party chat and cc - its not funy when half of ur pt hiding name and one of then writing to buff/heal/assist/etc him ><

That's exactly why you become red. So that you don't one shot lowbie "mercenaries" outside the siege fields.

This part is bugged. Sometimes the names are hidden there, sometimes (when not on a siege field?) they aren't.
Hmm, seems alot of you got 17 badges, where on my server there were several getting 13 badges (i'm one of them), anyone know whats going on with this o.O

I'm so glad to see my 15 are not the lowest count!
I got them after running around for 2 hours and felt rather cheated when people sitting in town for 2 hours got 15 too.
And I agree that the Wards are for the super-clans only (why expect otherwise?), all the lower characters can do is farm badges - somehow.
Times differ on US and Euro Servers... On Euro Servers we had TW on last saturday the 23th.
The next one is sat may 6th (every 14 days)
Not exactly. I guess it's due to servers birth, but some servers are in 7th signs quest period, others in validation period. Both in US and Europe. Some servers were born an even-numbered week, others an odd-numbered week.

and maby all players fight on siege field??
this is territory war, u need to move from one teri zone to another so the whole castle territory shoud be war zone
how shoud i kill some1 with ward if he is not flaget ? Oo
Actually, there were from 30+ to 11 badges in my dion part this week. I am trying to determine how the badges are awarded. Tried killing own accounts signed, but the quest was to kill rogue/knight class and we had none at disposal. I will try to associate with a big clan and make a grand plan to determine how to get a maximal amount of badges.
M

My roomate got 28 badges.
My toons goto 8 each, but I didn't really do much.
Just logged them in and went to the cinema.
You have to actually do stuff to get more badges. I think 8 is the minimum (i.e. "here you go, just for signing up"), and you go up from there.
Last TW i got 22 Badges, and my alts that were just sitting there unpartied got 2 each :/, i guess it depends on how much fights are going on at that particulair territory, so next time i will sign my alts to a territory that will definitly have alot of fights ;) (to chk if that is the case)
I participated in my first Territory Wars last night and I had a blast. Can't wait to do more in the future.
I only had 5 badges though when it all ended, which I found a little odd considering I was in the thick of things for basically all of the 2 hrs. People in my party were getting 18+. Oh well!
The greed for +stats+ made the first minutes of Teon TW an awful thing. TW are fun ; carebears stay carebears and won't stop sides, but some ******s decided to PK any other territory getting out of town. With the "heroes" at their head.
Fortunately, it cooled down and people played on the combat areas. Still there's one stupid thing in the design : if you're in the combat area and you kill someone outside, you don't take a PK but the victim loses full %. You learn it the harsh way, and I don't see the purpose. Either the killer get a PK or the victim loses 0%...
This Saturday was territory wars on Teon? I tried to registered since like 2h before and couldn't. I tried for Giran/Oren/Gludio and couldnt on either of them, i waited till allmost the start and couldnt register. Did any one experienced my problem? Or i dont understand when you can make a mercenery request for it. I knew is from 2h prior to start to like 20 min.
And you have to sign up at least two hours before the start. Which means, for example, right now you can already register for the TWs which will happen in 12 days.

ahhhh then defiantly i screwed myself lol. And how come Giran didn't participate? Did they keep the wards by not participating? A bit of a bulls.... then.
Well i suspected i mixed the time up so that's why i didnt play it, well will be more carfull next time, i need sub from it.
The 2nd TW is not that fun like the 1st TW on My server, dont get me wrong, it was still fun.
After the 1st TW, all the wards are owned by 2 major clans, the sad thing is, those 2 major clans are ally, and some of the castles are owned by their alt clans as well... So there is no competition between those 2 clans, all the wars are happen in Aden and Giran.
Lucky enough is our clan is signed for Giran...so we can still see some actions...
Hope, NC will change the TW to reset the wards (back to the original territorial) every other week, so we can see war everywhere...

Yup, its quite annoying (even for the clans than own all the wards already) that the wards arent reset. In a situation like on Aria atm, theres no competition as the defending clans (which are also the most powerful on the server) just sit all 2 hours at the castles. Nothing to do for Guardians of any territory either, hence a tiny number of badges.
First war was fun, second due to the wards not being reset was really rather boring :(
It's exactly the same as regular noblesse, in fact when you get noblesse through the territory manager he cancels all the noblesse related quests you have active for you.

when they have all castles they dont have to do anything at the next TW cuz they just transfer the ward to their castle and thats it .....

I bet you are on the same server that I am on "ARIA"
I'm also curious to know how the badge allocation works.
The first TW I had to go out, so I signed up for Aden and just sat in town for the duration - I got 13 Aden badges from that
The one last weekend my clan signed up for Schuttgart and we ran around over all the different siege fields in a party of 3 of us - we clocked up probably around 20 kills between us (not bad for support classes) and some just sat in town for the duration. We all got 11 badges each. Two of the members of my party (including myself) were over level 62 and one was under. We all got the same number of badges.
When you sign up for the "path to being an elite mercenary" through the Mercenary Captain, you get texts that pop up in white on your screen during the TW, if you follow the white texts orders you get more badges.
Ex: Take down enemy catapult, etc.
Now I'm not sure if the number of attackers you kill is a factor, but it sounds logical.
I followed the quest instructions and got 28 badges.
Now, if you're not with your clan (3-4 full parties), it's harder to get the badges. Try finding a clan that will accept you in one of their parties and tag along.

I'm just gonna log my toons in town and go afk and get my 12 badges...If i do 10 TW i have the badges i need.
I would hope that NC does some fixes in the next update as the idea was a good one...its just the mechanics are broken.

Pretty much means a Dead Server. My clan 2 Cycles ago managed to get 6 Wards, and then the following Territory War, all those lovely clans came to get their Wards back, and our Force of 50 was met with a force of over 300... Needless to say, we ended up with 0 Wards after that Weekend, and then this past weekend we got 8 Wards again. Can only imagine the next one to see the same 300~400+ back to get them back!

During the TW you get quests for attacking a catapult, defending npcs, and killing certain classes. The more of these quests you complete, the more badges you get. The updates for killing X number of warriors or priests etc. gave everyone in the group an update.
Here is an odd one about the badges. Last Saturday I signed our alt clan for the TW. I logged in one girl from each account (2).
First girl that logged in right at the start got no badges. Second girl got 13 badges. I partied them at the start but both sat in town in shop mode. Neither one did anything different ><

Anyone else have this happen?
yup,
- were they in the same party?
- what lvls are they?
- were they sitting in the same town? (signed up same territory?)
Yeah i noticed the lower lvl your toon is, the less badges it gets, i once had a lvl 40 signed up that got 0 badges, while other higher lvl toons (6x/7x) got more.
Those were aswell in the same party (or even partyless) and in the same territory.
I'm guessing it also depends on what lvl toons are participating in a TW in overall.
I actually got around 8 badges 1 week on my 56 sws, then was told to play sws again but i thought i would still get litle badges, it turned out that i got around 40 this time(more then the high lvl toons).
