Need help levelling

Elf Classes Started Last reply 8 posts
Hi there guys,

I am an old subscriber who left a long time ago because of many reasons. I recently came back to try out the new Lineage. Mind you, the last time I played L2 was when C1 has just come out and we were trying ourselves with Antharas!

The information seems a bit dispersed and at times unfriendly, understandably because most players here have played for years and need no second thought on it.

I have a 50 EE. His gear is mostly crap because I let a friend switch out my B robes and I now own a set of C robes (Karmian) and a dual SoR. I understand that these swords wouldn't be popular anymore due to the fact that they can now be enchanted with +HP as opposed to some weapon that can give acumen. Unfortunately, I only have 500k adena on hand (again I gave big chunks away when I quit).

1) Which area are best to level? I asked in-game and no one answered. I remember cemetary/forest of mirror to be a decent duo spot for 50ish. Now they are emptier then an ice cream shop in the middle of winter.

2) Is there any priority to upgrade my equipment? Back in prelude healers had little reason to upgrade their set beyond getting set bonuses. I don't have any tatoos either. Any recommendations?

3) Is there any system, besides vitality, that I can benefit of? I know low levels get all kinds of perk like shadow equipment, free teleport and what not.

Thanks for your time :)
welcome back, first off.

take your butt to an elf mystic trainer, there have been a great many skill upgrades for EE's over the years and one of them is your best help for levelling: Inquistor stance.

when you use it, your skill set redefines itself and you are given a few specific skills to help you level: Surrender to Holy, two holy nukes that can be used on non-demon mobs just like any nuke, and a HP regeneration stopping Curse among other things.

given this skillset, a great place to solo is Forest of Mirrors; even better, however, is Frozen Laboratory (outside of Shuttgart town). you will want to hunt mobs that drop Herbs.

don't forget to pick up your Newbie buffs. go to the Adventurer Guide in any town (except Rune and Goddard) to recieve them, they last 1 hour and you can continually pick them up until level 63.

as for your gear, i wouldnt worry too much. if you can manage to Crystallize the weapons you have now, the profit from the crystals should be able to buy you a regular Homunkulus which you can use to buy Acumen for it at a later date.

i recommend Frozen laboratory because the quest in this zone will get you Materials that sell very well. youll need level 52 first, however.

if you joined a clan you would probably get a group to go hunting in a Catacomb; an adviseable idea for good healers to get training. Catacombs arent *hard* but they take some endurance.

I most seriously suggest you start a new character and get the feeling of the game again. Level 50 is more or less a non-issue these days. Many things have changed, so many in fact that by the time you have read and understood the patch notes from then to now, you will have reached a level close to 50 :)

In any case, welcome back and enjoy the game.

Fishing (especially night fishing) should be an OK (although not stellar) source of money for you. There is a quest for fishing pole (it's ~lvl30, but the quest items still drop even if you are 85), and you will want to keep your fishing skills levels around 12 (or use yellow fishing pot if they are higher) to get the best rewards per time spent on fishing.

Forest of Mirrors, levelling on Ghosts. Nuker weapon (even Common one) is preferred; you may try a single MoH and then meleeing with duals, but you are a Mystic class, you are receiving nuker newbie buffs from the nuwbie buff NPC, so you better just get newbie buffs, port to Forest, switch to Inquisitor and go nuke.

If you can find constant or nearly constant parties when you get Major Heal (lvl 56), you may want to invest into Mysterious Sword with Acumen SA. +4Wit -4Men tattoos are good, but quite expensive. The rest can wait.

Newbie buffs, common items (skip the shadow equipment), shop-sold Divine robe set...

It's 53 for the quest.
OP: What server do you play on?
Hi guys, I've been busy so I hit 51 today.

Soloing is fine so far with dual sor. I think I'll work out equipment once I can get fishing and the game worked out.

Also, I play on Bartz.
At fifty one you should be able to level in the cemetery just fine. I levelled my EE there till about fifty four or fifty five. Of course, inquisitor opens a lot of doors that were not possible for an EE when I went though bgrade. So I expect that any nuker friendly hunting area will suffice now. Not just undead.
