On the Phoenix server the bot problem is getting noticeably worse every day. Every single place I try to go (woa, varka, iop, mos, everywhere) everything is taken by bots. Please tell me something is going to be done about this because this is going nowhere...
Not worth the risk of givine someone a full drop. Too many people monitor their bot trains and have imba classes logged off near them to kill reds for items.
Its the same on Aria. All of the most popular areas are packed with bots 24/7. Reporting them does nothing. Posting here will do nothing. NCSOFT is perfectly happy with the way things are now it seems. They like that bot money coming in every month. As legit players we can bend over and take it, or quit.
Most placed you can kill them and take their spot. But some of them are annoying. I was trying ot find a spot to level a 4x toon, and I went to branded, trained a bot to get the room, he went to town, got buffs again, and ported to giran harbor and ran back.
Funny thing is. Every room in that corner of the catacomb had one of those bots in it. 6-7 bots no doubt run by the same person. all the easy room in branded was taken by them.
I used to report them. But I gave up. If there's anybody who still thinks reporting works they should try following up on their own reports.

Yep, and you waste large amounts of time doing Sin Eaters. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't kill botted healers and train groups. It's not my style. PKs are for live players (or farmers who get brave) that deserve to be PK'd. Not for bots and boxed buffers (unless rezing wartags).
I've been over 70 PKs at one time, and my SE has over 30 (and OL 9). I've done enough Sin Eaters. I should not have to risk dropping my gears to get prime access to leveling spots, over afk toons. This attitude of complacency is the reason why the issue has become so rampant, and hardly anything is done about it.
Good for you, though, but that's not how I like to play the game. It's neither fun, nor productive - not to mention 50% of the bots are run by end-gamers who don't have a problem coming to PK you back in return.
There are plenty of spots in varka..you just dont try

There are plenty of spots everywhere, but, there is a reason why some spots have bot parties in them 24/7/358 (accounting for days after update when they need to modify, or upgrade, their programs).
Always the good spots are taken by trains 24/7. The only areas where there are not bots, is the areas that can get you dead easy or the xp is crappy.
PK them? heh, anybody giving that kind of answer looks like an idi0t. My time is too precious to be waste PKing bots, I PK people that fight back or dare to be brave!, not **** botters that will be back in a couple of minutes.

1. Ban all adena farmers.
2. Ban all ebayers.
and you will see 90% of high lvl players got baned. and end of L2.

EVEN IF ALL THE CURRENT HIGH LVL PPL GET BANNED BECAUSE THEY VIOLATED THE RULES THE LEGIT PPL WILL EVENTUALLY GET TO THESE LVL'S AND TADA THERE IS NO END OF L2, SIMPLY PUT ALL OF THE END GAME CONTENT WOULD JUST BE LOWERED IN LVL'S FOR A BIT, the high lvl raids would just have to have more ppl, the pvp...guess what most ppl will be around the same lvl, castles same as i stated for the pvp.
on a separate note i play on phoenix also and am in varka most of my time when soloing, it is indeed hard to get a spot but you can eventually find them...i only run into one problem each time lol, the botters come eventually and threaten me for the spot, so yes as many many maaaany other forum topics have asked for it would be grrrrrrrate if the spots were to be bot freee buuuut, again as so, so many posts have said and this is a sad truth but we are most likely not going to see this problem resolved for a long, long time.

You are making a mistake here. There is quite a distinction between bots and farmers. Farmers are those who accumulate adena to sell online, while bots wish to increase their level and gain adena for the purpose of becoming powerful (through cheating) at an extremely unfair pace. My guess is that out of all of the bot-users on the server, 80% in sheer numbers are farmers, while 20% are bots. This is mainly because bot parties are usually 2-3 chars while farmers are 7-9, with multiple trains being run by the same person.
Which ruins the game more? I think most people would agree that those who bot for power have a severly more negative effect on the game after a certain level, maybe 70+ (meaning that players 1-70 wont really notice the damaging effect of the botted higher levels until they get higher).
This is not to say that farmers do not impact gameplay, but rather that the GMs should focus on botted heroes/etc. more than level 20 dwarves in necro of sacrifice. There were several 82-85 banned recently on phoenix for botting, at least 1 a hero, so we do thank you for that. We just wish that we had other options other than mass petitioning in order to get GMs to look at a character!

what did you expect it would be like living on the biggest populated server? Consider transfering. Otherwise it's impossible to exp.

Nope. The problem now is different from the one in C1. Most (if not all) the bots belong to players now.
It's just not worth it, and does nothing but impede on my enjoyment.
I allied Varka to kill Ketra instead. I never have to "look" for an XP spot or take a crappy spot and pretend that I don't have any issues getting one (when I can only get the ones that bots won't even level in to avoid petitions).

Unfortunatly that is happening alot and will eventually fill up with bots too. But for now Ketra is wide open for xping.
a bot is named "234fdadfa" is because it can be paid to change it to something else. this, of course, is about plvl service that some of the sites offer, amongst the cheap adena pricing, and other game's virtual currency.
Bots were named that before and I've seen some end-gamers with boxed buffers named gdfgdfgdf and no one seemed to care about it, much less mention it. It was hillurious, and it's been happening since way before name changes got added into the game.
Farmers hardly care what their characters are named; and, players don't care what their bought-botted buffers are named, either.

Just think if L2 stood through all of the bans. All of the good sized 7x clans would be fighting for power which could actually prove fun. It's better than sitting on a server and watching the juggernaut clan do as they please imo.

In reality though, when the aforementioned high level ********s finally get banned, they raise a surge of petitions asking for unban, and then some corrupt GM indeed unbans them. (Look what happened on Luna and Phoenix.)

Don't forget that alot of those idiots run bot parties, sell Adena, etc. But they have pictures of NC West having some fun with Sheep (don't think Choco was one of them) so they are imune to the ban hammer.

What happened: cheaters got banned then unbanned.
The saga known as "The Transatlantic flight of HuGo" was pretty epic... I guess it started the trend.
The people I know that got banned on phoenix recently and unbanned were not banned for botting or anything like it.
So its not comparable to Luna at all.
I dont get it, I have no real issues finding places to grind etc, There is so many places to go. Its quite overwhelming, possibly at max levels there might be an issue but. This game is great you can pk =0.
