actually the Elixer rewards balance out the Blessed Weapon enchant rewards. you cant just give out 10000's of BEWX and maintain a stable economy. making them same chance to get SA11-14 (count the icons) and Crystals balances out the rewards.
i just hope theyve given a fixed drop rate for all play times.

Medal Event with updated rewards would have been better, do you guys even talk anymore or is it just grunts that go on and some pointing? last time I checked ppl loved this event, but after reading thorough all these posts I was like: "wow! Is it THAT bad??" . I personally enjoy the fact that I can earn QHP and\or Blessed enchants. I know I won't earn even one, but I know prices for BEWS, BEAS will drop!!! And that is when I will buy them so **** cheap! ;P

All blessed chants, omg thats so god **** hawt, soul crystals thankyou - and while these will be low chance of dropping, none-the-less I'm sure we'll getting lots of QHP... I'm not sure if it will be but I'm hoping its the special Event QHP which has weight of 5 instead of the Normal QHP weight of 120.

Have to agree with DarkRich, I am very happy to get this event! The rewards are fine, busting squash is fun and we get xp hunting the seeds and such :D

We have had at least one event per month (one month 2 events) since the beginning of the year and for that I am quite happy :D Good events too, good rewards (Love the ones that give vitality in some form).

When NCSoft don't lauch events you cry, when they do launch events that gives you free stuff you cry...what do you want from them? do you want them to put all the epic jewels, +16 weapons and +6 armor sets for your grade on all chars during downtime? is that what will make you shut up and just enjoy an event?
guess we really shouldn't expect too much from that leftover team... since they and their recycled, out-of-date events are still perfectly good enough for people like you.

I mean, why would they want to introduce new exciting events to the US servers? I'm pretty much up for any event. But then again, it is HARD for me to generate adena in this game--I actually have to WORK at it.
So from my tunnel vision perspective, when an event comes along--any event at all--I'm grateful.
I don't care if I've done it five times before, I don't care if the drops are minor, I don't care if it seems stupid or whatever.
All I care about is that it will provide an opportunity for me to generate adena to pursue my goals.
The last event just concluded probably put 130m adena in my Warehouse. I usually don't do that well. Heck, I only played casually on Aria about 7 days during the event (less than 14 hours) and only had sell shops up about 6 nights!
It is rare that I don't make 20 million or more in sales on an event--which is 20 million more than I had before. Just my impression? I probably average 30-40 million as a casual player on every event.
As I continue to level I need more and more adena in order to accomplish what I want to do in the game.
So "Bring on the events!!" Same old ones, new ones, goofy ones, funny ones, cool ones--I couldn't care less.
There are suckers and fools waiting to be fleeced--erm--I mean, customers need things from me........you can find my toons selling in almost all towns except Giran. I'll be the one NOT offering the lowest prices :)

if it works as before (which is the most likely thing), you get seeds for small and large squashes by trading nectar with the event NPC... 1 nectar = 1 small squash seed.. and 50 nectars = 1 large squad seeds...

This is a good event, ty Omega. I have liked it in the past and I hope to see it in the future, there is nothing wrong with repeating good events.
I particularly like the expanded time frame. When we just did this for a week it seemed too short and I remember that the player poll indicated that, thanks again for listening to the player poll and making it longer.
I agree with Dark with regards to the people who whine and complain about getting something for nothing (the event). They come across as immature morons.
By the way, regarding the $15/month fee. It has been the same for five years now, no price increases, which I think is amazing. $15 a month is trivial. While people play different amounts of time, for me it comes down to less then ten cents an hour to play L2. That is dirt cheap for a good time!
Good Lord! If I take a sweet lil' hottie out for a nice dinner, drinks and dancing I can easily drop over a year's worth of L2 fees in an evening and all I get out of it is a slap in the face and a rep as a grabber!

Well, my point was every time they have an event like this, there is always an unneeded amount of ********.
you cant please everyone. ever. its just impossible. ive already heard complaining that this is a recycled event despite its lucrative rewards.
even if we went back to the boss spawning event of C1 i am POSITIVE we would get complaints that either they dont give enough EXP, they are being camped by higher level players, they are not giving adequate loot, or "its a recycled event" type boo-hoo ing.
my stance is as follows: take what NC gives you with a grain of salt; that is to say make it something you can enjoy. find the good bits and enjoy them.
Its not the events that i get ticked about its the rewards. Yes i love the idea of getting blessed scrolls it will make OE my ant queen very easy HOWEVER ... what i would like is them to run events with rewards that are equal to what the other NC East has, call me a whiner or whatever but i feel like a second class citizen with regards to this. Korea gets S80/84 gears when can we have an event to get those items? we have more S80+ players then they do. Its a fact cant remember where(somewhere on Elliebelly) but it is; they may be botted but hey there still there.
I will gladly kill squash just don't give me the same old rewards, change up the weapons that you beat them with why always darbuka? why not make some new 1 p attack weapons...or heck bring back the violin chrono weapon. Be innovative thats what i want. And before someone says their stuck with what Korea gives them check the rewards no they are not imo.

Yes because I would like to pop open a couple squashes and get 9 different kinds of elixers that don't stack with the current elixers. The simple fact that NCSoft is too ******ed to even use the same NAMING CONVENTION from event to event shows you how intelligent these developers are. If you want to drop elixers have code read the level of the character and drop the appropriate level elixer, and make them the same elixers that you craft. Then maybe I wouldn't complain. OR if you are going to drop elixers than they better be improved in some sort of fashion (i.e. x2 heal, full heal, etc). You can get my drift where I am coming from, but instead it will drop useless things, that I will either leave on the group or instantly drop into the trash.
I generaly love this event, look forward to it every year. but again im sad to see that NC West has no understanding on what event prices that is any use to the community. Last 2 event they finaly sat down and made some desent work and it was great. there was some rare prices that was uber nice, and u didnt get swarmed by low lvl crystals and enchant scrolls.
I like the idea that potions and souch are standart from the event, but i hate to get flooded by ewd and ead. they are of no use to me or any other. Same goes for SA crystals below 11, they just take up space in my WH if i even keep em.
Plz pay abit more time working on the rewards, also so we dont have all the hate on the forums. The past 3 events have been great, but now u just fallen into the trap of repeating your self.
Personally, I'm going to try it. It can't be worse than last Squash event with the super crappy rewards, like EADs and A crys.

I kinda miss the idea of needing a whole group to break open an emperor squash. Who gets the drop? Is it up for grabs, or does it go to the person who planted the squash?
This will be the first event like this for me, so I'm not whining.
Frankly I hope the market floods with stage 11 and 12 soul crystals and puts a hurting on the farmers who hog the Zaken raid. I have already seen one stage 12 at an 85 million price down from 100.
Already in Giran BWE have dropped to 1.3 and 1.4 million from people dumping them. In fact I picked up over 50 of them for just 138k each. I think they must have forgot a zero. (Obviously). The funny thing was I tried contacting the person after I bought them to tell them their mistake. I would have sold them back to be nice, but the person (obviously Chinese) immediately put 200 more of them in her store after I cleaned them out and was rude and dismissive to me when I tried to me nice.
It occured to me after seeing this person unloading hundreds of B weapon enchants that they must be a BOTTER, so I don't feel bad about it.

I will say small secret to you - only attack speed have influence on breaking pumkin.
Last time I killed pumkin alway duo -> me as BD and WC friend.
So,
1. Haste buff + Furry dance. Ok, also take bers buff from CH. Better will be prophet than WC.
2. summon pumpkin and feed it
3. switch to drabukas and kill it
4. pick up drop.

Personally I think events like this are a definite win! On the downside, most of the win is for the bots, but that's with every event NC comes up with.
What's bad about it is when you get an emperor squash and get all excited and it drops 1(!) A crystal....are you friggin' kidding me?

Nothing personal but in Teon red 14 is ~1.2b and red15 is 1.5b.. so...
I don't see a problem with recycled events. I remember a time when we didn't get any event for a long time because everyone whined about recycled events. Events are good money makers for the common masses.
Recycled events are better than nothing. PlayNc has people tied up in millions of projects: Aion online and Lineage3 for instance so I hope they have taken few intellectuals off from these projects to improve their future projects. Although admitted, it seems NcSoft pumps a lot of money into projects that wont work for instance Tabula rasa; but in standard terms, even that could be thought as exploring the MMO area; so they could be seen spending their money on development unlike many of the WoW copies.
And have you noticed: Ant queen + other good stuff from last event, and high level crystals from this. Theres a linearity of 2 events telling that they have hit the gas pedal on the event rewards.
Anyway, I love the events and have been waiting for this like a farmer waits a sunshine to come...

NO you do not get more event items by hunting mobs that are ?x hitpoints. However most of the time drop rules are in effect meaning you have much less chance of getting event items if hunting blue mobs. From my experience it's best to just continue grinding where ever you have been grinding and collect the event items as you go. Nothing can really increase your chance of getting more except playing during peak hours.

My first "clone squash"... fed it 5 nectars and it turned into "high quality" and I killed it and it gave me A-crystal. As I understood it, only the large squashes require the hammer so I did this with my duals :D

Wait and see-.- Atleast you need another person with you to do a large and you need both gsap -I think-. Also, im not sure what the large quarantees...

The NPC's usually tell you exactly what to do, and this is probably the 4th time this event has happened. Either way, you need to use Chrono weapons to kill the Big Squash, the best being the Fists or the Dual Mara.
actually I'd gladly accept some recycled events like valentine and fools day events

but they always pick recycled events for bots :( didn't even improve drops this time, lying in the event page which shows blessed scrolls. in fact that page does not show any drops I got from the squashes so far. I wonder what is it supposed to represent?
the problem with such event is that mostly the player botters that do have multiple grps running everyday win. so yeah usual players dont even get a stage 13 or top lifestone or blesseds , ur inventory will be loaded with cg/bg armor scrolls or lv 76 lifestones , thats from my xperience in the past 3 years
never gotten anything good from any events but stuff no one really needs
last event one clan got like 20 aq`s
while others like me only got 100 buff juices , not even a single elementel stone .
why not put events the way that u give every player good rewards , leave the things no one out , really a usual player gets like 14 lifestones a day, why put normal/mid/high lifestones even in there, same stuff with stage 11 crystals , one grp can kill t-rex to lvl them or lilith
in my opinion , stage 12-13-14-15 good , top lifestone good , epics good ,ag/sg scrolls good , bg/ag/sg blesseds good , leave the rest out
so basically dont waste your nectars on the small guys and go for the big? Got 4 greater magic haste potions, EWC, 1 QHP and an A crystal from opening 5 small ones..
Yeh havent even heard of crystal giving sqaushes so far... but 40 in 1 hour and you tell that bots get all... I have been here 6 hrs and I have got something like 12 nectars... take that...

I have tons of nectar myself (relatively), but can hardly get any seed. The ratio for 7 hours of exping is: 7 seeds and 70 nectars....

We will see what happens today evening that is the first actualy evening when there are those Nectars for sale for sale for people who play normal hours. One large takes 50 nectars so basically one guy deciding to do 30 large ones would clear the market. And thats just one guy. But we see what happens. So far people dont show interest in buying them but after one or two bigger players get crystal 15 stuff that might turn things completely around.

Ahh almost had forgotten about the emperor... altho the guide mentions nothing about that. Only low, med, and high.
Can anyone confirm to have actually seen an emperor (in this event). Or is this a complete and total copy of another even that did have those in addition to what we have seen so far?

One of the guys in my group said he got one before we got there, but sadly he couldn't break it open because he was solo at the time :(.
I got a "high" quality large squash and made out with a stack of EADs, EWDs, various haste pots, and a lvl 10 green crystal.
I guess that's a lot better than the Floran Escape Scrolls I got for turning in numerous 5 Years and Gracia last event.
How much is a level 10 green worth? haha. Only been back for 2 weeks so not sure of market prices :P.
And honestly though, the way I see it is if I get just one good pumpkin than I will be more than happy from this event. Hell one good pumpkin would probably multiply my current amount of adena so much.

I meant one good pumpkin. Even if I just got a BEAS 200m is, what, about 15x the amount of adena I have right now? I could afford a very nice OE Great Sword with that amount.
I know for high level players its nothing, but for a new server transfer who's only @ lvl 47 200m from a pumpkin would be HUGE.
So yeah that's all I meant. I'm sure if I was higher up and had more adena I'd be singing a different tune but, hell, this event for me is a good chance at getting a good boost in adena.

I think what you do with a small clone seed is feed it nectars in order to grow it. Someone mentioned it took 5 nectars to grow theirs into a large one.
Then you have to just hope you get lucky and it grows into a high
quality LARGE and if your really lucky an Emperor.
Don't forget to have your Musical Instrument with you before trying. (Just in case)
Hopefully someone will verify what I am saying here.
On the Phoinex server prices are ranging between 50k and 200k to buy NECTORS. The average price for the nectors is 100k, but a couple of Farmer Bots are selling for 80k in larger quantities.
Buy stores are willing to pay up to 48k so far as I have seen.

I am not sure. I don't even know the mechanics of how you use a nector to water it much less how you know when its gonna get as big as it gets.
Hopefully someone will post a detailed instruction for the whole process and verify that all Squash can be opened with regular weapons except for the Emperor?
It would also be nice to know how many people you should have on hand to safely be able to break open a Large, or Emperor before it can run away.
I have one small cloned seed and about 75 nectors, but I won't do anything til I know for sure the details.

Let's be fair. It's almost impossible to earn BEAS or stage 13 crystal. BUT QHP and heal pots is a very good thing. From the previous event I got like 300+ combo buffs juices (the one which give you all buffs at once) and that is much better than dreaming of 'I'll earn AQ ring someday'!

For now from what I've seen, it's worse than nothing. Remove my expectation to get something decent and I won't be frustrated to make an effort to farm them.
And I'm still waiting a confirmation that the rewards were correctly updated, because pots, low enchant scrolls and soul cry 10... it sounds like the previous version.
By the way, regarding the $15/month fee. It has been the same for five years now, no price increases, which I think is amazing. $15 a month is trivial.

ok,who wished for a detailed explanation? Here it goes.
You got 2 types of seeds small sqush seed (cloned small squash seed) and large squash seed (cloned large squash seed).
You summon the pumpkin,use the nectar on it (you need to water it 5 times,you cant water it more than 5).
After you used the nectar 5 times,the small one will grow into one of 3 types (Low quality/high quality/king).
You can open the small ones with every weapon.
The large one is the same as the small one (same amount of watering/etc) it will grow into one of 3 types (low quality/high quality/emperor).
You can open the large ones only with a chrono weapon.
And btw,success got blue animation,and fail got red cloud animation.
3 fail 2 successed or lower will result in a low quality squash.
2 fail 3 successed or higher will result in a high quality squash.
0 fail 5 successed will result in a king/emperor sqush (depends on the type of seed).
now, if as I assume, the event wont work properly what is the % that they will fix it before end? How often do they usually fix broken events and give an extra week for instance?
From my testing it appears the longer I grinded the less seeds I got (perhaps anti bot technique?). Everytime I left for 20-30 minutes and went back to hunt drop rate was a lot better again, may be happenstance.
IM probably going to sell my seeds depending on the market price and just use my cloned seeds as you cant sell them. I am the type of person who likes to take his chances but from what I have read so far the prices are not good at all and after having quit for 2 years and seeing how much the market has expanded in cost and the enchant price has lowered I dont see how its worth it to get ead/c or ewc/d if the b was the lowest then it would be good but sounds pretty bad.

I have gotten two emperor squashes and got **** from both. like 20 EAD, 3 EWC, 2 EAB, Stage 10 and pots.
gee why am i not suprised lol back to back messed up events; regular scrolls not blessed, they activated wrong event my guess the old one not the new one lol.

2 small resulted in bad quality both and dropped 1 magic haste and 2 haste pots each
1 emperor thad dropped a lot of scrolls and just that: 2 EAD, 2 EWD, 2 EWC, 2 EAB and 2 EAA...not bad for a freebie :D

its not that the event is broken, its that these people are too greedy.
even if every mob popped 5 nectars, you'd see them complaining the rewards were junk.
the value of an EAD is lost on some S graders it seems.
Got a clone large squash seed on my dwarf. I wish I mouse overed the drop then I would have ran my dagger in for the pickup. This was good for people like me that only exp on vitality 4.

not bad i didnt even have to reply to get the higher up person. First person who recieved my submission immediately sent it to next person, who is now immediately forwarding it to QA.
I may just hold onto a bunch of nectar for a bit then, see if they acknowledge and fix it. (I doubt it, but its better than wasting a bunch of nectar and then them fixing it).
True.. but remember the last event... it was broken and then they fixed it and extended the event - I for one will not be touching any of my event items until the end of the event.
We're all 76+ or almost, yet A/S-Grade stays as rare as before in events. We're not greedy, we're confused. Did NCWest notice?

No. It says AND OTHERS right on the event page. Those "others" are the only items people are getting from this event which are the exact same items we have gotten from the previous squash/pumpkin events. haste, greater swift, and magic haste pots WOW! They could't even atleast change them to the hour long buff juices? This event is a joke =P
Did anyone check the drop rate in Kratei's cube? Last event I went there on my necro and was getting an absolute ton of letters. Maybe its because the mobs don't drop anything else or maybe its because the letters dropped fast anyway and I was throwing cursed bones like a man possessed ... but it could be worth a try.
I'm okay with the event but would prefer getting a better/different drop table for the different quality squashes...especially the large. I got an emperor thinking I hit the motherlode and ended up with pretty much the same stuff I got from a low quality large one.
ok... after almost 2 days of exping I got 40 seeds and 10 large clone seeds along with 480 nectar.... I'm sure this is pretty good.

Wrote another bug report stating "If you want empirical truth that the even wont work, then go see any freightman to wittness that there arent even Blessed scrolls available at all"... That should be enough to prove the point, now it depends whether NcSoft can be bothered about it.
Someone should really gather up all the screwups from mismanaged events from L2 events and write a blog into MMORPG or TenTonHammer with a satirical twist.

freighterman's new stuff is the preparation for future event. current event is not supposed to drop new event cubics.

Hmm point taken (I have read of that event as well in another thread) but didnt think they implement items from two events ingame at the same time. Just a bit strange tho that they have crystals in both events.

I disagree, I am usually quite happy with all their events. If anything they are at least a great way to make money. I think this is the only event I have ever been dissapointed in to tell the truth. Old rewards would even be ok but there just isnt any room here to make money or get something unique as every single item in this thing can be purchased from the npc vendor except enchants (which basically can be procured for very cheap). The letter event, the raid boss event, santa event etc etc worked just fine IMO, just this one has done really poorly.
However, I will still make my squashes at the end not going to go completely to waste I suppose.
Latest update from the Phoinex Servor on Drop Results involving a Stage 12 Cubic.
Person went through about x20 Large Seeds and x30 small seeds and got a total of x8 Emporors out of the total of x50.
He got the Stage 12 Soul Crystal cubic on his last Emperor.
I personally was helping 2 other people with their Squash in the Church a little while ago. We got x5 Emperors out of about x20 large seeds. None of those x5 Emperors got better than x4 A crystals and a couple of B armor enchants plus the various other pots and C and D armor enchants.
The assessment I can make from all of this is the Nectors are simply not worth paying more than 10k each.
Unfortunately people have paid as much as 80k to 100k for them although the price for them has come down to 40k on average for each Nector on Phoinex. Even at 10k a piece your probably going to lose, but at least you have a shot at it. At a cost of 10k each it will cost 550k a pop to buy a Large seed and grow it up.

We’ve discovered that there was an issue with the event rewards. Unfortunately, the new rewards (the blessed armor and weapon enchant scrolls) didn’t make it to the event and we greatly apologize for this. We are currently planning to launch a brand new event in about 2 weeks and I hope that this can make up a little for this mishap.

After doing 100 large i think you could come to a conclusion about the event. Based on the drop rate etc. Yes i understand drop rates vary alot sometimes. They drop like water sometimes. Than they dont drop at all. But ive been averaging about 20 an hour when im grinding. Im more so disappointed on the large seed that are bound drop rate. =( I wish it was slightly higher compared to the normal cloned seeds.

read the post 3 posts up. The rewards are the same as the last 2 or so times this event was put in. don't save them the event is ending tuesday with the same rewards we have now.

yup, I hope they increase the drop rates on A / S grade scrolls compared to C / D. the majority of the playing force isnt pvping at level 30 anymore. I like the event's its a great way for the producer's / developers of the game to show what there game is about.

IMO yall need to quit *****in, Omega admitted to the mistake, and he also stated that they are planning on launching ANOTHER event in 2 weeks, this means BACK TO BACK events. Quit your ******** moaning and groaning, enjoy this event even with its sucky rewards, or log off and wait to weeks for the next event and stop being asshurt about it all.
another IMO, Events are events, they could say **** you all and not do any events at all, so the events we do have, weither recycled or not is a welcome change.

Listen guy's all they really do is have to change numbers. If there are more enchant armor A's / S's in the economy. It will deflate the economy benefit the actual players of the game imo. Bots are the victors when it comes to grinding out drops x amount buys this etc. If the items they farm become worth less, They will lose out on there profits.

This should have been quite apparent before they put it on the Live Servers, if they actually test their patches/events before pushing them live.
It's pathetic, and why should anyone who pays for a service accept this trash; and, give them credit for "attending to it." Yea, and after they wasted hours and hours of their time fasrming nectars, thinking it was working as intended?

We’ve discovered that there was an issue with the event rewards. Unfortunately, the new rewards (the blessed armor and weapon enchant scrolls) didn’t make it to the event and we greatly apologize for this. We are currently planning to launch a brand new event in about 2 weeks and I hope that this can make up a little for this mishap.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and still hope that you enjoy the event.

for one thing Im not a Guy and for the second jsut becuase Im tired of hearing the non stop *****in of "OMG this event sucks" when ever we have an event dont make me a fan. Yes I love events no matter what they are, it breaks up the grind of lvling.

theyre repairing the event by giving you the proper event RIGHT AFTER this one.
so this event, you play out (your rental car) while the main event is being fixed.

Yup i agree they messed up on this but atleast it only took several days for them to come out here and tell us all so props to omega for that. Ill wait and let the judgment sit by until 2 weeks from now i think its safe to assume it wont be nectars so i think ill start using mine up now.
And to Omega i think its time to take a serious look at the people who have been activating the events ingame i know that it wasnt you its one of your programmers but obviously they are failing at their job perhaps time to have a sitdown in your office and explain the parts of running a good quality game here.

More like a beating. They don't deserve to sit! They should also put in big stamp like letters on the event on the front page "FAILED" like they did on the last one but with "EXTENDED".

And no, I won't participate that stupid event anymore now I'm sure it's so lame and won't be fixed. At least I can strike that event from my list of expectations and move on.

How about give the guy who screwed up the last two events a pink slip. I think we all will be happier then.
I figure out since the begining the event was a failfure ^ ^... and sold all my nectars first day... there are some areas with the right level (I am not talking about 76+ levels, first tip) that were dropping them like nothing in the first day... and still up to this day are quite decent, the event rewards are nasty, thats why I keep selling my nectars over and over (second tip)... thought the profit now is not that great like before.
You see sometimes working around a failfure can give you a good reward...
Ok, I am happy they at least came out and said it...just so happens I have the week of the 29th off so it may be event city for me and maybe souped up rewards :))))
