Just picked up L2 today

Heya all,

I just picked up my copy of L2 today. I'm SO anxious to get online and play.

Are there any tips anyone might have to offer about starting out?

You can take a look at the skills of the different classes here (http://lineage2.rochand.com/Knowledge/race_human.php) and I suggest you do the quests that the newbie guide gives you all the way to lvl 18. He will let to lvl fast to 18 and you get some adena by doing the quests he asks you to do.

Just remember to talk to the newbie guide after you have completed each quest.


Also the newbie guide will give you some nice buffs from level 6 all the way to level 62.

phoenix is most populated NA server.

Is the game past it's prime? Yes.

Yes, when you dedicate about 14,000 man hours to leveling up characters, make friends, etc. it becomes more difficult to leave.

I didn't start playing in June 2009, though.

Funny stuff--the OP asked for tips and got a whole page of "don't bother" or "come to my server"---lol.

Tips?

Begin Manor at level 8. (you'll have to read up on it and study a bit!)
Settle in for long grind to hit 75.
Learn economy as earning Adena (gold) is harder than leveling--and you'll need a LOT
Don't worry about armor/robes till after A-grade. Get the best weapon you can afford.
Join a clan of friendly people--they will put you in their academy and probably offer assistance and advice if nothing else.
Don't hit another player under any circumstances until you hit level 79 (that's sort of a joke--but not really).
Read and study--use the library of this site and find other fan sites (stratics and vault for instance). You need INFORMATION more than you need levels.
Be friendly and fun while playing--others will appreciate that.
Enjoy the scenery and explore a bit--walking is good for the soul.

L2 is a great game, best I ever played...and I have been playing games for a loooong time.

It is almost 5 years in L2 for me now and having a wonderful time still. I hope it suits you as well as it does me.
