lmao-I am the stereotype of the casual player. I log in about 1-2 hours about 3-4x per week. So I average about 12 hours of L2 play or less per week.
As a solo DA the "low-to-mid 70's" are going very, very slowly!
But then again, I can't honestly say that being 80 matters to me. I suck at PvP, I have never been hard core enough to 'catch up', I don't care about end-game stuff.
I mostly log in to be with friends who play, to work with the economy, and to have some laughs.
I wouldn't guess I'll be at 75 in the next 3 months. And by the time I hit 79 the highest L2 level will be 100 or so :)
So 'no'--I'm not anywhere near 79 and probably won't ever be.

edit;: accept lineage like he's , because gm will never change theirs position/no action against bot , they let's the majority of ppl bot, then bot or top of whine for anything you can change , and it will never change .
If you only play 3 hours a day and you are being actively persued (not one gank a day), you will have a hard time getting much XP in that span of time.
*** if you get to bot i want that nifty Auto pot and auto target ...just like the ones that the big boyz use.
Last seige i had the same two Aholes on my nuts everytime...it was like jeez you guys are good....even trick and switch didn't work.
not everyone who is good at targetting has to use aim or radar. There are some people that are really just that good. It's very easy for an archer who is good at targeting to make note of when reses go off on people and are ready to shift-click them before they accept res, and one shot them. This is a good way to get people down before they can renoblesse and pretty much puts them out of the fight.

Well, it's not as simple as that. I took 6 complete months off to play another MMO last year and into this year. I also leveled a number of toons on Devianne seriously for almost 6 months.
More importantly, I also spend time doing other things. I'm one of those RP guys--so some of my time is taken up with that. I'm also very interested in the market so a good portion of my time is involved with that.
I'd guess I try to level solo or in a small group about 5-6 hours per week. On a good week maybe 8 hours of leveling my 'main'.
Just about everyone who plays this game will out level me :)
It still amazes me that I hit 70 awhile back (thank you Vitality)....

NC Soft condones botting by their lack of action. They may say that they work hard to ban bots but that is just a front to keep legitimate players happy(ish).
Remember that actions (or lack of) speak a hell-of-a-lot louder that words. You really think that they are 'working hard' to ban bots when same bot parties in same spots for weeks logged in almost 24 hours a day. L.m.a.o.
I don't condone botting and I don't do it myself but just look around in game and you will find your answer. Just ignore all this crap that NC Soft comes out with in order to maintain the front that they are working on behalf of legitimate players. Its high time that NC Soft stopped lying to us because its offensive.
What I would suggest is that any time (when the moon is blue) that someone from NC Soft posts about banning bots on these boards just respond with 'STOP LYING TO US!'. I will 'cos that's all they deserve.
79-81 is two months of casual (3hours/day) exp, if you can't manage that then try wow or hello kitty online imo
Lets count. Two months is ~8 weeks. Thats about 50 days (I remove some because of sieges and etc.). Because after login you are definitely not in exp spot, also there can be such issues like waiting for pt members, restock and etc. I would say every day you will exp 2.5hours or spend more time.
Ok, let it be, 3h -> 150 hours in total. Objective is 2lvl -> 200 exp. So, you should get average ~1.33% per hour in 79 and 80lvl. Maybe it is possible but really hard to achieve.
Currently at silent valley (which now is probably best place for solo/duo melee) with perfect setup, no enemies and not much bots I can reach ~1.8% and I am only 77lvl...
Trust me or not, mobs dies in few seconds and gives descent exp. I believe that I generate ~400k-500k exp in 2minutes -> ~4-5mil exp per buff round -> ~12-15 per hour. Which is far away not bad.

Maybe if you are in PvsE. But if you are in PvsP you will be sleeping on the ground most of the time. Lvl80+ War Tags go through there with radar and the only ones that survive are those with the same radar.
I tried levelling there and died 4 times in 15 minutes. Thought the guy would get tired but he didn't so went elsewhere and he tracked me down...lol. Nova are just such good hunters :p

As was intended, I was primarily trying to be funny.
The point I was trying to make is simply this:
81+ for New Archer Instance makes absolutely no sense to me. What % of the Non-Botting L2 Population will be able to access these new instances? I know there are a few "Legit" players that have reached 81+; I am not doubting that. I am simply stating that the people I know on Sayha that are 81+ did not do so by grinding 8 hrs a night in front of their PC. These are the same people are going to be the beneficiaries of the new instances of Gracia +.
A few replies talked about "casual" playing and the ability to level 3-4 % a night between 79- 81; I have no clue any longer about what "casual" can be defined as in the L2 world.

Humour asside for the moment, just because the zones are 81+ doesn't mean they are 'for' 81+ players. IoP has 80+ mobs also, yet it can be played quite by toons that are 73+ (depending on the class). The mobs there are easier to kill than those at varka/ketra, as long as you stay away from the Water Dragons (and witch warders :P ... Some a hole spawned 4 of those on me the other day. They are a pain to kill. That guy died very shortly after that also...).
We haven't seen the new mobs yet, so perhaps they are HB style uber mobs, or push-overs like IoP. Looking over at Ellie Belly though, the max hp on some of these x2 mobs are just lol. If that isn't before the x2 hp multipier (3k+ or so) then I will be one-shotting mobs for 20k a piece with improved vitality.... Or I'll be playing Aion or Diablo 3! :P

Considering at 78 im getting oh i don't rougly 1% an hour if i do IOP with a BD dropping out of partying with full buffs. A DA in my alliance has a PoF prophet and bd and se and gets only about .4% an hour at 79.

One thing they also need to change is the events rewards, getting 1 a crystal, or scrolls you get all the time with cubics make events useless for many ppl, raid bosses in low and mid range levels still dropping useless materials, nobody craft unless they don't know what they are doing items you can buy in NPC shops.
It's not a hard game .....its actually a very easy game.
The grind is unreasonable considering the max levels they keep increasing.
The quest are beyond lack of any content...kill 700 of these mobs and 1200 of those mobs..thats a quest...nope just volume.
How can they say the max level is "x" when they keep changng it...then it was never a max level...just the level for the particular chronicle.
Add to the ever increasing bar you have to hit, the playing field is not level. The drop rates are unreasonable.
Whether its by design or not the whole game lends itself to botting or Adena buying.
It's just a frustrating POS game.

There was a time when the game was balanced, the market was attainable, as were the levels and drop rates.
i was as surprised as you are when i got to 75, and saw how straightforward the subclass quests are.
i honestly expected something more difficult and time consuming; instead it isnt hard, takes about 6 hrs to do from start to finish, and most of that time is running up TOI.
i'm beginning to think level 76-79 may only be a matter of a few days. as it is, just me and an SE can do several percent per hr in shoddy exp zones (cause we arent fond of those heavily camped areas). and those higher levels will be reachable in a relatively short time with minimal effort.
i'm working on a wolf at the moment, so my SE clanmate can share in the DD'ing and not have to be idle for 20 mins.
you dont need to bot to get anywhere in Lineage2. you need time. as slycutter pointed out, 1% an hr fully buffed may not seem like much or fast; but it can add up if you are patient and arent in a hurry.
i am fairly confident i will one day get to 85. as will anyone willing to dedicate a few hours a week (nothing major) and get it done instead of sitting about and moaning how hard it is.
