Hey, ive currently come back to lineage and my friend went bladedancer and i a SwS, just got a few questions on SwS that i would appreciate if they were answered ;)
What are the best dyes/tats for a SwS, if any? I like the speed i've got so i would want dex, but i have a feeling STR will be a better choice.
Whats the best A grade armor for me, i was considering nightmare/tallum/majestic, however nm/maj are quite expensive and tallums bonus's are pretty good too.
Whats a better A grade weapon to save for? I was considering the traditional sword/shield setup however, DLE costs a lot, and there is no common items DLE in town. Would a tallum blade be just as good, or how about a BO focus.
At what level am i going to be "demanded" for parties, as for most people have oop buffers and will try hard to not get more "leachers" so i guessed the 76+ levels where were i was a must, or for AoE?
Also my friend has a wc he is letting me and my friend borrow, its level 74 so maybe that would change considerations on the gear? Idk

If you want to go cheap, I suggest you look for a common Dragon Slayer. They look kool and help you do decent damage.

I largely agree with AquaSpark but I really like a Bloody Orchid w/ focus for a SwS (try to get a +4 or better one as a BO is low A). It uses a bit more soul shot but singing is lots faster and a SwS'es weapon masteries do not add much patk anyway. An IM w/ focus is also a good weapon for a SwS though you lose the shield. Crit. Damage is a bad SA because the increase in patk added to crits is added after SS so the SA bonus is not multiplied by SS like the other damage SAs (haste or focus). Crit. Damage is better for daggers as I think the bonus is added to their patk during skills.
As you are hunting with a BD focus is a great SA, dance of fire + death whisper means dps is all about crits.
I agree, if going cheap get a common Dragon Slayer or a common Soul Separator.
I'd say for tats either go +4str-4con or +4str+4dex-4con. I do the second option so soloing goes faster, but it really depends where you hunt. If you get stunned too much from mobs it can really slow things down.
For armor definitely go with tallum.
And for weapons... Aqua is right in saying that there has been a ton of debate. However, dps comparison charts I have seen have ALWAYS put focus items on the top. You would get the very best dps out of a focus dagger (BO), and a focus 2h sword would come in a close second (infernal master). Of course if you could afford top a-grade that would be even better, as you can put focus on nagas and ipos.
You will bet in high demand once you get hunter. 49+ you really shouldn't have any troubles finding parties. Of course, s-grade and on a sws is pretty much a necessity for certain places like HB.

If it's accurate, then it looks like I was pretty wrong. You are right that a SS with crit damage would lead to higher dps then a BO with focus. However, that is only because of the difference in patk. A naga with focus has higher dps then a naga with crit damage. What I found most surprising though, is that a 2h sword with focus yields the best results (even with hunter and other buffs). I had always believed daggers to be a step above 2h swords. All in all, I'd say the best weapon for an a-grade sws would be the infernal master. It has a low cost, it is efficient in terms of SS use, and it provides great dps. Of course, if you have the money you could go for something more.

at 77, i'm still using an IM /focus on my SWS.. and will keep it until i get a FB 150fire focus.. working on it, but not quite there yet :D
