Usually that's not what happens - my guess is that spam bot was banned and the owner just used another account. Why would a bot care if you pm it? The adena pm I get every day are from a different toon every time even though it is from the same company. I think the GM actually remove those spammers from game pretty fast, because it is an obvious user agreement violation.

You really have no clue what you are talking about.
Pming a spam-bot doesn't affect it at all. It will still pm everyone else without any interruption.
Also, WHAT you say in pm's have no influence on chat bans (other than excessive item linking) Only the frequency you send pm's with give you a chat ban.
You were just pming a bot who got banned a bit later, it had nothing to do with you pming it, trust me on that. That was a waste of your time.

I sorry to inform you that there is basiclly no one behind the wheel on these spambots. They are just standin there scripted to wisper to any name that is logged in the DB.
No one probably saw your reply and it dident have any problem to pm people while getting pmed. :(
What you can do is to go to there site and ask them to remove your name from thier DB so you dont get spammed by there company.
If they dont do that just keep opening chat windows with them on there website untill they remove you.
That will on the other hand make there job hard and will probably cave in and dont spam you anymore.
Becuse you got to think of this is a company and dont want bad publicity or angry "potential" costumers. The ones I have asked have removed me and they have not spammed me again.
Becuse litteraly they have won, I got to there site and saw what they offerd.
I agree with the others... it's most certainly not a real person behind the wheel, but rather a script. It'd be the most tedious thing ever to manually message all these various names, but scripts are just fine for it. Once when I was dual-boxing, I was messaged at pretty much the exact same time by the same Adena-seller. I assume they have an alphabetical list of names, because both of my characters are quite close to one another in that regard.
What's frustrating is that NCsoft continues to allow us to get spammed this way. I'm not sure about everyone else, but every-single time I get spammed by these goons, they send pretty-much the exact same message. There are two sites in particular that are absolutely notorious for spamming, and they type out their entire URL in the chat... why doesn't NCsoft just filter that? They filter some simple curse words, yet they can't filter out web addresses to the people responsible for ruining the game's economy? Give me a break.
I take quite a bit of in-game screenshots, and what's frustrating is when one of these spammers message you and completely ruin the shot (I usually like to leave the UI in). And once, I was spammed twice by two different spammers (and sites) in the spam of three minutes. It's truly ridiculous.
I don't know guys? I was sitting in town making shots with nothing better to do anyway! Figured it was worth a try :D Well it logged off I did not! even if it did come on with another adena spam seller the owner did not bother me again! :D

I know what these companies offer; I have seen the sites many times. I'm just not interested in paying real money for play money. I play L2 for fun and consider it just another one of my hobbies. :D
