This event is so mind-numbingly awful I can suffer sufficient mental stigmata that I can literally feel my inner hopes and dreams being sucker punched in the gut.
It's like someone injected a Koala with steroids and hyperactivity drugs, so that when I go to pat it the furry little jumps out of a tree and claws into my shoulder.
What's with almost every single event following a singular pattern; make it so that those with large amounts of excess cash that could buy any of the prizes anyway, are the ones who can participate to obtain them?
Is there any reason in particular each event has such a monumental chance of failure that I have better odds of waking up tomorrow in my bed to find I've turned into an elven female, and can struggle to get those majestic robe sandals off? It would also be a more appealing result. I wonder how much plastic surgery that would cost, but that's another matter.
For the next event I suggest you simply create an NPC in town who when you click 'participate' punches your character in the nose, then turns it around, bends it over, and shoves a Basalt Battlehammer right up its rear end. This would more adequately convey the message you've been presenting to us, which is 'please suffer misery and dissappointment' at each event.
Have you ever considered holding an event that rewarded people for participating in a realistic manner, which wasn't affected by what level they were, how many hours of a day they played, or how much adena they had in their inventory? Perhaps even an event that didn't necessarily hold a prize, but rather had people participate in something.
Perhaps an event where you open that 'pub' which used to be in Gludin and hand out wine and/or beer bottles. That way our characters can drink themselves into a stupor when they realise how much their life in Aden/Elmore/Gracia costs them in dignity.
The event sucks for the simple fact that it isn't ergonomic. I have more important things to do than waste time at the computer clicking and dragging stuff.
It's not like we don't do enough clicking, already.
Expecting rewards that make sense... does not make sense...
I am having a hard time, trying to understand why you guys - again - open threads about stuff you don't like about an event ...
I think it's a nice event.
I log in 3 Times a day during breaks, get the scrolls and eventually use them. Mostly they make *poof* at +4 but sometimes they go up to +15 .. which is nice. You get something (almost) for free .. what are you complaining about? The "Bots" are rich anyway ... with or without the event.
A poor friend of mine got his stick to +22 ... only with the 48 scrolls he fetched from the npc in the last days.
Thats what luck is and thats what this event is about. If you don't like it, turn your computer off n go out. Don't open more threads please ..
actualy its a goos chance for newbies (if there is some) to earn some easy money for start.
4 times 24 scrolls a day, thats 96 scrolls per day. take a 6 days (sh*t happens) - you have 567 scrolls. there is people who buy it for 50 k each, so thats freakin 28.8 kk! easy money for newbe i would say.
One the one hand, this event, like many others, is pure fail. On the other hand, I feel compelled to point out, it probably beats any event in Adelaide, possibly even in the whole of Australia. (It also beats any event where I live. It does not, however, even come close to the joys of a good donut shop.)
On your bar comment I vote Isabelie on Phoenix as the Bar owner and I'm not even participating in the event cuz i can make money selling the scrolls instead of wasting time watching things break trying for a +5 or higher staff.
On a positive note, you have me laughing out loud in real life.
I like the event lol haven't gotten anything yet, best was +16 blew going 17 but I think if they put Vitality Pops in the rewards, like 1 for +8, 2 for +9 etc., it would be far more popular :D Just add the Vita Pops to existing rewards :p Come to think of it, Vita Pops in every event would be good! :D
What I hate about this event is that when my dorf wears his top hat, his mustache get changed to another type. Those lazy Koreans :( It's not like the top hat even touches the mustache, dammit!
Also I have calculated that to use all the enchants I will get from npc during 2 weeks, I will have to spend about 10 hours just double clicking, dragging stuff and staring at the enchant progress bar moving.
Anyway, I dunno who is preparing the events at NCWest, but seriously they need to fire the person 'cuz he isn't doing his job well. The majority of people would be somewhere between +5 and +15 I'd guess, and they give rewards like fireworks and hats? that aren't even tradeable? I just lol'd and didn't log in to even purchase the "free" scrolls.
I'd prefer they didn't give us any events at all. At least they wouldn't piss people off by showing how much they don't care tossing at them half-*****ed events.
mm, im still fairly new (forum date and creation date is same), but thus far this event has been the most profitable for me economically. I have lost no adena whatsoever, and got 2 Tateossian jewels. And currently have around 1k more scrolls to try my luck with. Imo the best thing about this event is it's not purely on luck.. it's based on both the player's luck and the player's cojones. Sure the first 10+ OEs suck, but helloooo... an event is not meant to give everyone S grade loot... I know of 11 people so far who have got S grade stuff (not including TT), i have seen 4 people blow a +22 staff right next to me.... To all you whiners out there, dont expect dynasty weapons from each event ffs. An event is merely a source of extra income, you can instantly forget about the Super-Lucky Player extra income, just focus on getting what you want/need. I know of people who have got top hats and say the event gave them what they wanted... Then again I know of people who have got drac bow and are still trying for dyn weapon.
Make reasonable goals, not the ultimate goals. For example i wanted some real jewels (were wearing majestic common), so far i am doing better than i expected. Sure i want S/S80 loot, but i better play it safe and enchant with duals boxes so i dont lose my highest enchant accidentally.
+1 for this event from me.
Though i must agree, the lag sucks big time. Seems worse during this event
1. no1 really want the crap before +19
2. this event produce major lag spikes (guess from server request every 3+ enchant u do )
3. GM / NC dont care that they make servers unplayable...
4. i got more full common trash drops than event items... think about ^^
NC did a great job bringing this game done, since c3 :(
i want my chinese farmers back, instead of the botzors and walkzors....
i want the secret cow level... but not this lag crap event bull...
This event currently rates as so-so. An adjustment of the rewards could turn this into a super. The concept is great and the selling of the extra scrolls puts a cap on scroll prices. One thing I noticed with the events. The rewards are great at the start and the end of the event. I'm starting to hoard my scrolls for next weekend.
Well, everything pales, in my eyes, to the Santa event. That was a superb event. Someone mentioned above that nothing under the +19 was worth it... and people like me -- oeing is not my thing and i often fail, so I rarely do it -- that the items received under +19 should be a bit better, and enchant scrolls under S grade are too easily attainable atm with the cubic... so really basically worthless.
I like this event, and if they could make the prize for +8 to +12 random between enchants and buffpots, vita pops, lvl 11,12,13 crystals then it would be a great event.
Right now everything below +15 is not worth keeping.
Make the hats tradeable then +14 would be good also
I like that it is more original than what I remember from events in the past. Having recently returned to L2 and trying to "catch up" it does have some good possibilities. Unfortunately long ago I created a character on Teon which I would like to xfer to another server...but he is the one getting all the good luck. So far 2 S accessory from +15 and a black mask. Makes you wonder why the masks / head slot items aren't tradeable but most likely to inhibit bot monopolies.
As for the scroll drop rate, the best I've seen was in Cruma tower 2nd floor, but I'm a bit jaded as my DA at 53 kills pretty fast in there. Light a panther and cut loose..best so far is 12 scrolls in under 2 hours.
I don't mind the event. We have 5 accounts between my wife and myself, so we get 2-3 waves a scrolls a day, we say down for about an hour yesterday and OE'd away. Got 5 to +16, blew 4 going +17, and 1 going +18... All and all, can't complain, it's not like it's really costing me anything and it keeps me amused. I think some people cry too much over events..
I don't understand you... You complain that bots have not fair advantage over killing mobs during event period. In this event there're no mobs. You come, you buy and later you test your luck. No killing mobs, one good thing.
Another thing I noticed that you always complain about rewards that no1 wins. Like a +10 event weapon from christmas. During this event rewards are clear, so another good thing about it.
I think you could even more positive aspects of this event over other ones that makes this event one of the best so far :)
P.S. I find most active posters in this community not happy all the time. I did noticed that official boards become ''official cry boards'' because as I said almost every most active poster finds a reason to be negative. I feel sorry for such people.
