cant be rich and lvl fast
just throw on common gear and you should be good to high 70's where you can make some serious cash if you can't be bothered playing the market
lol... common gear until the high 70s? Now that's funny.

Have you looked for a clan? Don't mean to ask the obvious question, but that is what clans generally do for each other, helping with parties, pooling resources, etc etc.
Playing the Market if you know prices on your server

Sell Mats - if u arent planning on crafting

As was said above find a good helpful guold that lvl as parties and help each other out. Make a few friends and try to get a leveling party going as well

Common gear does work on mobs that give out herbs. Don't even think about going into cata's or necro's, you will get owned...

At 49 if you go to silent valley on top of the hills you can easily stay there in common C grade or B grade until high 50's.

if his/her toon is a summoner, i dont see why he couldnt use common stuff in catas.. buffs from noobie guide plus shots should be more than enough.. recently leving an ES sub on apos to 56 no problem
ok 2 tips.. 1st hell yes common gear,,, i have 28 chars u think i can even think of reg gear? lol

2. lvl a wolf. wolf plus any char =summoner. easy lvliing, wolf gear is expensive but not hard to get. if u want just keep up grading. it will cost u way more in the end, but at least the initial cost is low.

3. also LVL ALTS AND DO CUBICS...... think this way u got to 40"s in 1 week. if u do 7 chrs by 7 weeks u could have 7 chances at an ews per day.
AussieLisa? Are you actually Australian? If so, all game drop rates are halved, craft success is down to 10% and you have an increased chance to fail overenchanting.

I should know, I'm from Adelaide.

"Monsters for which sowing was successful do not drop items other than adena." -from linky
this is a common misconception...actually mobs for which sowing has been successful will drop 2 things: adena (same amount as it normally would) and event/quest items (such as seal stones and magic coins)
but serriously, best way to find out how to make money in this game, look in the top right corner of this page and click the "search" button.

omgggg.. An ex-clannie of mine gave that "advice" to a newbie friend. He blew all his money on getting the stupid cubic, ran out of money for SS and ports, and then quit the game a month later because the **** thing gave him nothing but worthless blue cubic pieces.

I also wouldn't agree with the wolf - unless you level the wolf to sell it at 55 (which is not a bad idea, but if you go through the trouble of leveling a pet to sell, level a kokaburra, those go for a lot more and are cheaper to maintain). Top Wolf gear is pretty expensive, and unless you're an SE or a WC you'll need a boxed buffer/party to get anywhere, because wolf without vr (or a LOT of heals) = dead wolf.

My personal advice: make shots. First, go to Giran to where all the craft-shops and look at the relation of crystals/soul ore/spirit ore you need. Buy one crystal from the lowest sell-store and set up a buy shop over night buying x amount of crystals. Check here (http://www.lineage2.com/community/castlecontrol.html?server=bartz) to see which town has the lowest tax rate, go there, and buy however much spirit ore/soul ore you need. Head back to the crafting stores, craft shots. Sell. Profit.

I wouldn't bother with anything lower then A-grade. S-grade might be too expensive for beginners, so A-grade is probably a good one to start. You'll be able to sell shots in different cities for different prices. Check for the lowest sell-stores in Aden, Giran, Goddard and Rune, pick the city with the highest lowest sell-store (meaning that if in Goddard the lowest A-SS price is 105a, and in Rune 120a, go to Rune), and set up a sell shop there, slightly lower then the lowest sell shop.
For beginners, consumables (be it shots, pots or mats) are the best way to make money. The profit-margain might be low, but it's a safe thing, and you don't want to gamble and lose all your money when you barely have any.

While you do that, start familiarizing yourself with the market. Check the prices in Giran several times a day and get a feeling for what sells for what price.

Good luck!
Mysterious cubic is definitely something you want to consider, but don't expect it to make money for you.
I have had cubics on 20 characters for nearly a year now. and only half of them has payed for themselves (granted the ones that have have payed for themselves 3-10 times over)
If I had just had a single one most likely I still wouldn't have made my original money back

It is definitely not a good investment starting out. It is something you want to consider once you get going and have enough money to blow on a few of them for yourself and your alts.

Stupidity is right. Leveling with a wolf makes leveling much easier. You don't need to be a wc or anything else to reap the benefits from the wolf either you just need a little bit of common sense.

1) Be careful where you level with the wolf just like in real estate location is everything. You need to find an area where most mobs are passive and be aware of where they are in relation to you when you start a fight.

2) If anything even looks like it may attack your wolf jump it first. With the wolfs extra damage you can fight several mobs....well my dwarf with his high hp can.

3) Be careful of how much damage you let your wolf do. If your wolf is going to be using beast soulshots then you must use soulshots. If your wolf is outdamaging you the mob will turn and kill him. If you're broke you're better off just upgrading your wolf's weapon to the fang of fenril and forget the beast ss.

4) If you're poor don't waste your time with upgrading the wolf's armor buy the best the merchant has and leave it there. The merchant sells 30 p. def armor all the money I spent on upgrading my armor took it up to 47 p. def. Keep the cheap armor dump money on the weapon and just learn to be careful.

5) Put a few health potions on your wolf just in case so you can buy time to pull whatever off of him.

My dwarf Artisan is level 30 my wolf is level 24 and my wolf does p . atk 151 and I have a p. atk of 152. I can't remember how much I spent upgrading my wolf's weapon but I don't bother to use soulshots unless I'm doing Kama because I already do double damage thanks to my wolf.

Listen to Nanashi as well its a trade off. I'm level 30 and I have over 8 million adena none of my gear is common and I've spent approximately 12 million adena on weapons alone and thats not including my wolfs weapons. I purchased a light cross bow for my wife's kamael to convert and a claymore for my own kamael. I also bought 4 bonebreakers for my dwarves and lost 2 attempting to over enchant. Each dwarf is in a full suit of brig armor with shield. I also spent over a month probably in the level 20 range just crafting ss and selling them not even bothering to hunt except to farm wolf collars to sell for even more adena. You have to find your balance between leveling and earning cash.

Sorry, how long have you been playing this game? From your post it sounds like you've been playing for over a month... and you're only level 30? GJ on making all that money, but you might want to re-think your xp-strategies. Level 1-30, even in common gear, and even if you do nothing but kamas (aka, play 20 minutes a day) really shouldn't take longer then a week.

A normal wolf might be a cute lil' companion for low D-grade, but at B-grade you're going to need a great wolf (which is what a wolf evolves into at lvl 55). There is a pretty big difference between a great wolf and a wolf. Both great wolf and wolf have high patk, but low pdef, with the difference that a great wolf hits extremely hard. Unless you have a decently +'d up weapon, your great wolf will most probably out-damage you, and unless you're a tank, you won't be able to keep your wolf from pulling aggro. Due to the high dmg-output a great wolf can 'keep itself healed' with VR in most cases. That's why it's a good companion for SEs and WCs, the 2 classes in the game that get VR. The cheapest potions that will have any sort of effect on a great wolf are ghps, which -depending on the server- go for something like 10k a piece. That's definitely not economical.
I'm not sure if you realize how much great wolf gear costs. "The best gear the merchant sells" (which is the best pet gear in the game, because there is no other gear) costs something like 180 million. Even the cheapest great wolf gear will add up to a couple of million. Definitely NOT something you want to (can??) invest in when you have 1 million at your disposal and aren't even geared yourself.
To sum the wolf-thing up, the OP's question is not "omg! I can't level fast enough!!! How do I level faster? I'm rich btw", it's "how do I make money". Aside from the fact that you -neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed- buffs with a great wolf (no, not optional at all), the inital investment of a) either buying a great wolf (60mil), or raising one (time+money+boring as hell), b) gearing it (a few mil minimum), and c) maintanace (shots+food) really don't make leveling with a great wolf a way to make money.

For your initial 50mil - make shots, get frustrated trying to compete with bots over the manor thing, or fish and craft ghps. Every kind of advice that involves high risk (ie crafting weapons and armor) or require a large investment with slow pay-out (ie wolf, cubics) are rubbish.

i'm from sydney and i only get half that ><
Yue's advice is probably the quickest and easiest way to make money at low levels.

I started making A SS about a month or so ago and got full A grade in no time. No time as in clicking dwarves in Giran for a few minutes a day and then setting up shop overnight and during the day. Once you get a good amount of adena you can switch to S SS, less clicks to make almost the same profit.

I tried manor, but it was not worth it considering how seeds and crops were bought and turned in the second manor reset.
