L2vault looking for volunteers

Hi all,

I just wanted to open this here since I announced it in the Fan Site forum and only got one response from it so far. Kalinia is now our interviewer, though I'm sure I'll be helping with it as I can. :)

L2vault is mostly run by Jayla and myself, and we have been working hard for a year to help boost L2vault. We have a lot of features, and we also have a wiki we have been trying to fill with L2-related information. We would really appreciate help from anyone who is interested! You don't have to be 'uber' to volunteer. Just pick a position that interests you, and contact me via private message here on the official forums with any questions you might have!

Here are the available positions/features:

Wiki Work (http://l2vault.ign.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) - **ALWAYS OPEN** anything and everything L2-related. Stats, pets, you name it. Anything you can think of. Wiki knowledge not required. It's easy to learn, and we can help.

Siege (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.list&category_select_id=26) & War Reports (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.list&category_select_id=27) - **TAKEN** weekly on Mondays. Just hop from server to server and record (and news) the winners.

Monthly Hero Report (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.list&category_select_id=4) - **TAKEN** once at the beginning of each month. Hop from server to server and check with the Monument of Heroes to list the winners by class - and news them.

Cool Find (http://l2vault.ign.com/?category_id=307) & L2 in the View (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.list&category_select_id=14) - **TAKEN** news'ed weekly on Wednesday. You can do one or both. Cool/fun 'finds' that are L2-themed (I find many here, and some on Youtube for example), and 'Views' of the world of L2--screenshots of neat things like RB's, architecture, and memorable things or stuff people might not otherwise notice.

Faulty Screenie (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.list&category_select_id=15) - **TAKEN** monthly. The name says it all--a funny screenshot of a glitch/bug/etc. Can be yours or a submitted screenshot.

Community News (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.list&category_select_id=21) - **OPEN** weddings, player-hosted games, RL events related to players, Wishing Well holidays, etc. News'ed weekly on Thursdays as needed. Post calls here on the forums and at L2vault for news, and report/take screens as you can. I often include graphic invitations. You are not required to design those yourself unless you want to.

Blogs (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Lineage2Blog.List) - **ALWAYS OPEN** ...the name says it all. Blog about anything L2-related as often as you can...daily, weekly, etc. Include pictures if you wish.

What in the World (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=Features.list&category_select_id=24) - **TAKEN** an ongoing game here on the forums and at L2vault. Use a screenshot snippet of something L2-related, and zoom out on it every week for up to 4 weeks with included clues. Reveal the answer if no one guesses it.

Quest Guides (http://l2vault.ign.com/View.php?view=guides.list&category_select_id=15) - **ALWAYS OPEN** We can always use additional help here, especially with the large amount of new quests added with Gracia Final. If you like paying attention to detail and taking notes on your quests / helping others with their quests, this would be perfect for you. Take screenshots, write walkthroughs...it doesn't have to be complicated.

Thank you! Yes, I agree a wiki is a great thing to have. I actually prefer wiki coding over html, but that's me. ;) It's very fluid and connected and perfect for massive information!

If you know of anyone that likes technical stuff like that, send them my way. *wink* They don't even have to know wiki coding yet. I taught myself! I'd be more than willing to help.

I myself work with Wiki all the time at work (coding, html)... I can help you, but I don't have much time. So...I can only help a bit, if you like.

I might be interested in help as I have a couple hours to spare a day. Give me a PM here and I'm sure we can chat about it sometime when your free and I can answer any questions that you have. I don't know Wiki Code but can learn I taught myself how to read some html/php/C# and currently MCP Certified. Been playing L2 since Closed Beta.

I went to school for journalism...27 now. My main interests are game mechanics as well as answering questions a lot of people have (i.e. territory wars are now, how exactly do they work and how do I maximize my points) or questions about what the best weapon SA's are and a real comparison of data. Otherwise some of the basic stuff like siege updates and TW updates interest me. Why dont you get me a pm and I can give you my email to discuss if you like.

Also, I am interested in helping with new quest guides. There is a lot of innacurate information out there and I dont mind helping to fix it up. Plus I work in computers now and have been looking for an opportunity to write again.

Such as ok its a new chronicle, what does this new thing do and how does it really work. NCSoft patch notes often say something does one thing or works one way and is found to not work that way at all etc. Questions of the community.

You would do really well at adding information tidbits and whatnot to the wiki. It's what I did quite heavily as Jayla and I explored the Gracia Final PTS. :) I took screenshots, made notes of NPC locations and tips for things at the Gracia Continent, etc. The wiki is actually the PERFECT place for all sorts of information like that.

Too bad a certain Stratics site killed the origional L2 Wiki that started it all, it was massive and popular.

I think L2Vaults and ours are the only 2 serious and large Wiki projects remaining in L2.

We have people taking over the siege/war reports and monthly hero listing, as well as L2 in the View. Thank you everyone for showing interest! We also have some new blog(s) coming and help with the wiki/guides, but extra help in those areas is ALWAYS welcome. The more information and content added, the better!

* Lost Pixy (1x every other week): Hide Pixy on the site for people to find. Easy task yet pretty amusing at times.

*Event Fever Blogs(as released): Blog specifically about events and in game experiences each time they happen.

Hi all! Quick update. A few more features have been volunteered for. This is not to say that it will stick...things might not work out and a position might open up, so please don't ever hesitate to contact us with interest in volunteering.
